According to Deadline, FX’s Mayans MC pilot is getting retooled. The Sons of Anarchy spin-off was initially directed by series creator Kurt Sutter, but will now be reshot by veteran TV director Norberto Barba (Preacher, The Path) and undergo recasting of key roles. Sutter will focus on rewriting the pilot, with shooting expected to begin later this summer.

Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border, struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves.

Sounds like it's having lots of issues, but I don't understand why they're doing a spinoff. They told a complete story with pretty much everything they could in that seven seasons.

Also, EZ Reyes sounds like a Mayan version of Teller.

I always wanted to see that show but my wife and her fiends were obsessed with it. I had every major event spoiled for me. So I never watched it.

This would be cool because it would be like I was starting fresh.

Honestly, that was probably a better way to experience it in later seasons.
