As weakened as the series' quality has become, I still enjoy it immensely. But Kurt Sutter needs to shut the fuck up. Did he ever run his mouth like this when he worked on The Shield?

I like SoA but Sutter is a piece of shit. He seriously thinks he's like some actual tough guy biker just because he writes a television show.

That's his shtick, he's probably just playing it up for press. He gets his name and series mentioned in the news constantly, and that seems to have led to record ratings for SoA.

"Kurt Sutter disses Discovery Channel biker show"
"Kurt Sutter tells Direct TV to fuck themselves"
"Kurt Sutter calls TV critics filthy cunts"
"Kurt Sutter deletes Twitter/Facebook page after internet meltdown"
"Kurt Sutter calls Mad Men showrunner greedy"
"Kurt Sutter attacks TV academy over Emmy snub"
etc etc

Don't know how I feel about this casting. I can't see him playing the bad guy. But then again, I never envisioned Anthony Anderson as a bad ass in The Shield till I saw his work. Maybe Harold will surprise me.

He's talented, that's for sure.

It's mostly a persona.

Small casting tidbit from Deadline: Wanda De Jesus On ‘Sons Of Anarchy’
Wanda de Jesus (CSI: Maimi) has been cast in a multiple-episode arc on the upcoming fifth season of the FX biker drama Sons Of Anarchy. The actress, repped by Pantheon Talent and McGowan Management, will play Carla,
a smart and sexy associate of Nero, played by de Jesus’ long-time off-screen partner Jimmy Smits. Smits is doing a major, season-long arc on SOA as Neron “Nero” Padilla, a Latino gangbanger with an exit strategy who becomes a dangerous mentor for Jax (Charlie Hunnam).

Question: In honor of Sons of Anarchy‘s much-deserved Critics Choice nominations, treat us to some Season 5 scoop. Please. —Jesse

Ausiello: Things are looking up for Opie. Sorta.
You see, he’s getting a new love interest. That’s the good part. Unfortunately, she’s the cousin of San Francisco-based crime boss Henry Lin (who was last seen in Season 3). The rebellious Keiko is looking to break away from her family and run with SAMCRO. Rumor has it Gemma will not be a fan.

Keiko!

- One more casting tidbit:
Billy Brown (Dexter) has been cast in the major recurring role on another cable drama, FX’s Sons Of Anarchy. He will play
August Marks, the right-hand man to Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau).

They just announced Charlie, Maggie, and Katey's TCA nods and there was a lot of clapping. It was nice. And Ron Perlman is straight up hilarious.
Always good to see the actors on the show get some recognition.

My mom still wants to know who Sam Crow is.

It's never actually explained in the show what SAMCRO stands for, though, right? I know I had to look it up when I was watching the first season. I knew it was what they were calling the club from the context, but it still stuck out.

I can't remember if they ever specifically explained it on the show. I assume they would have, right?

I believe he knows. It was never explained within the show, at least not overtly.

Exactly. I think we might see it written out once or twice a few seasons in (like when that guy was trying to take them down last season), but you don't even know it stands for something unless you go look it up.

seems like this season will bring in some mighty stars.

Needs some more Deadwood people though.

We have two Deadwood writers on staff this season - Regina Corrado and Kem Nunn (Kem also co-created John From Cincinnati, though... it's complicated. But they're both great).

And Tisdale. All I'll say is... she's short! There are a lot of cool guest stars this season... Perrineau, Smits, Tisdale. Should be a nice ensemble.

what the hell

I get it's meant to be a metaphor, but still kinda weird for broad audiences

Eh, our audience would watch the show if a trailer showed Tig and Bobby making out to a Robyn song. I assume that we'll start getting more stuff soon, probably a concrete premiere date and key art.
