The lunatic in me hopes that Burke can find a new home for Finger.

Finger is gone to the Marlies if the Leafs need cap space.

Sounds like Wilson is just bitter that his team's win was credited to Brodeur's poor goaltending and not their own successes. Well, that was the story.Ron Wilson said:The biggest surprise to me is how everybody threw Marty Brodeur, the greatest goalie in the history of the game, under the bus and backed over him, and forward, backward, forward, backward. Its the greatest goalie thats ever played and it almost tarnished his career on one night. He didnt have a good night, but part of that had to do with how well we pressured them.
You're expecting a 40 goal scoring pace from a guy whose career high is 23?Alucard said:Welcome to Pittsburgh, Poni. I hope to see at least 10 goals out of you over the remaining 19 games. DO IT.

Detroit finally seems to be getting healthy and could be dangerous for anyone in the playoffs.Socreges said:One of the Team 1040 guys (Vancouver) said earlier today: "Congrats on the 1st seed, San Jose or Chicago. You're going to have to play Detroit in the opening round."
I think Detroit is going to have a strong late-season push and finish no worse than 6th, though. They won't be the 8th seed. I also think Calgary is going to get a playoff spot at the expense of either the Avs or the Preds.... hopefully the Avs.
Or things could just stay as they are.
Funny that Ottawa has a -4 GD and is leading their division.
Franzen is playing like he's going to pick them up carry them into the playoffs himself.Marvie_3 said:Detroit finally seems to be getting healthy and could be dangerous for anyone in the playoffs.
Absolutely. If I had to guess who they'd be facing, I'd say Vancouver. 3rd vs. 6th. Of course, anything can happen. Vancouver could lose the division to the Avs and it's not as if we've even clinched a playoff spot. But that match-up seems more likely than any other if I had to take a stab at seeding.Marvie_3 said:Detroit finally seems to be getting healthy and could be dangerous for anyone in the playoffs.
I haven't heard anything either. I'm guessing they're using the same system they have been using.Socreges said:Correct me if I'm wrong, but the NHL is using a proper bracket system in the playoffs this year, no? In other words, seeding will only determine first round match-ups, but not afterwards. The winner of the 1st vs. 8th series will play the same team, regardless of which wins. This is what I've heard, but I couldn't find anything to confirm.
It's going to be extremely difficult for Detroit, or any of the other teams below, to reach higher than 7th or 8th. All the teams above are still doing very good.Socreges said:One of the Team 1040 guys (Vancouver) said earlier today: "Congrats on the 1st seed, San Jose or Chicago. Ray Zero got fleeced. Even though PotOCoffee has flashes of good play he always goes back into long stretches of doing nothing and you'll think he's a healthy scratch. He played on a line with Sundin and still couldn't score 25 goals. When Pot walks away to play with his buddy Antropov in the summer, Leafs have the benefit of a 21 year old prospect to try and develop. Yeah real smart move Zero, real smart :lol :lolHari Seldon said:W0000 we got Poni for fucking nothing!
Luca Caputi is horrible. Got sent down to the ECHL last year for drinking and partying. He is supposed to be a "power forward" but the asshole weights 180 lbs lol. Miro Satan when he got sent down last year bitched at him to get his act together lmao. He is basically a slower, smaller, less skilled Poni with a huge attitude problem. Thanks BB! RS = God.

R_GILL said:I disagree, Poni is a decent 2nd liner. He can put up 50-60 points, and does pretty much everything decent enough. Pittsburgh needed some help on the wing for Malkin and Poni should in theory should work out well with him. They tried Caputi, he is way too weak for the NHL right now and needs more time in the AHL, he is a decent prospect but the chances that he even becomes a Ponikarovsky are not that great. I don't think it matters to Pittsburgh whether Poni walks in the offseason. Their goal should be to win now while they have Sid, Malkin, Staal and Fleury locked up.

I am sure the Marlies are thrilled. That is where he will be in a week.Manics said:They just interviewed Caputi on air. He's a huge Leafs fan, grew up with a Doug Gilmour poster over his bed and is thrilled to be out of Pittsburgh and playing for the Leafs now. Great pickup!
That's completely the wrong kind of d-man for them to go after, but holy hell they would be even crazier on the PP.ForzaItalia said:Listening to FAN590. Howard Berger says Caps making a push for Kaberle.
Caps would have to augment that with another tougher, stay at home d-man. Kaberle can skate, move the puck and make the first pass out of the zone to the forwards. That is HUGE come playoff time when teams forecheck with a frenzy.pringles said:That's completely the wrong kind of d-man for them to go after, but holy hell they would be even crazier on the PP.
