there's LiveWire, sonnyboy, Ninja Scooter. At least two others that haven't been posting much this season. I think DJ Demon is gone for good too.

Yea, that guy was such an asshole.

There's one other Skins fan that's been around for a bit and I can't remember his name. I think we have 5 total, which is about the same for Niners and Giants fans.

They can win all they want....all i know is ROMO will choke when it really counts...I'm calling it....ROMO messes up again! and in the playoffs!

But did you root for him on Survivor when he really needed your help?

Ha! That's brilliant! They might not have the weapons to do it successfully, though. What about just running the same plays as Alex Smith did in his final season at Utah? That might work.

Who can think of the best gimmick for the Niners? Their season is a bust, how can we make them interesting?

I hate Survivor and I hate Joe Buck, Aikman doesn't even get love from me anymore.

what could be better than trying an onside kick in the exact same situation against the same opponent you did it to only a month prior?

I totally can't understand your love for Leftwich. He takes longer to get rid of the ball than Joey and is prone to getting hurt, you know LIKE HE DID IN THE FIRST AND ONLY FUCKING GAME HE STARTED.

But whoo, he can toss the ball downfield. He's not gonna have time to with his shitty windup and our shittier o-line. It's time to face the fact that if we want to win any games this year (and I still say we shouldn't want to at this point), then we do that by running the ball and tossing short passes. Which is what this team is currently staffed to do. No use pretending to be something you aren't and on top of that AREN'T EVEN CAPABLE OF BEING.

Yes, Joey didn't win those games. But making a change now can fuck with chemistry and the locker room. You can't seriously think that Leftwich makes this team better.

Leftwich, when and if he can stay healthy, is a better option than Joey plain and simple. Sure his throwing motion is slower, but he makes up for that because he's more decisive than Joey. By the time Joey has decided who he wants to throw the ball to Leftwich is at the end of his windup. :D

The O-Line has improved since the beginning of the season in terms of pass blocking. Joey has had ample time in the pocket lately to throw the ball. You can't win games consistently by just running and tossing short passes. Did you not learn that from Greg Knapp's years here??

There's no chemistry to wreck because Harrington is doing nothing more than not losing games for us. It's few and far inbetween that we can count on him to make play like he did in the Carolina game.

Also we are not out of the race for the division yet, so why should we just start losing games? Don't you realize if we win Sunday we are only a game out of a tie for 1st?

Since Urban Meyer actually made Alex Smith into the number 1 pick, run his offense. It would take at least a few weeks for the opposition to catch on to what the hell is going on, and by then maybe they'll stumble onto something that resembles offense.

I dunno if Alex Smith could survive too many "Smith around right tackles":lol :lol

its certainly possible rex strings a few good performances together, and sucks bears fans back in again, just to revert back to wrecks in a few weeks

In a vacuum, Leftwich is a better QB than Harrington. But with the team we have where the QB is GOING to take a beating, you might as well stay with Joey. And I'm sorry, but I don't think you can prove to me or anyone with a brain that Leftwich will stay healthy long enough for the offense to get used to what he is possible of bringing to the table.

As far as not winning games by just running and tossing short passes, how exactly did we win the past two games? Gee, I thought it was by emphasizing what we have the personnel for... which is emphasizing the run and short passes. We just don't have the personnel to stretch the field right now.

As far as being back in the division... have you seen our schedule? Here, I'll let you in on it:

Week 11 TB
Week 12 Indy
Week 13 @ St. Louis
Week 14 New Orleans
Week 15 @ TB
Week 16 @ Arizona
Week 17 Seattle

I see one or two wins there (@ St. Louis and New Orleans at home). You could possibly make a case that we'll be competitive at Arizona but I'm not buying it. The rest are losses. Period.

Obviously, we're both fans of the team. However, I'm pragmatic about it and take a long term view of things and you want to win now. Which is realistic? We don't have a good team. Getting to the playoffs and losing accomplishes nothing to me, which is what would happen if we somehow sneak in. We might as well try to improve for the future, and that means...

Figuring out what kind of team we want to be. What kind of offense do we want? If we want to go with Petrino and his offense, then we need the personnel to do that. That means a beastly o-line, and an accurate and powerful qb. And probably a power rb and another credible deep threat. That's a lot to just go out and get. High draft picks would probably help with that.

I don't know, I just think Leftwich is not credibly better than Harrington (who, despite "not playing well" completed over 70 percent of his passes last week and lately has really only "sucked" against SF) and that there's no point in us selling out the future to put a little band aid on the present.

10 Cowboys lead their positions in the fan vote for the pro-bowl, looks like Newman is getting shafted yet again. The most Cowboys take to the pro-bowl was 11 in 93 and 94.

Wide receiver - Terrell Owens, 255,490
Tight end - Jason Witten, 238,528
Tackle - Flozell Adams, 138,986
Guard - Leonard Davis, 124,316
Center - Andre Gurode, 121,462
Kicker - Nick Folk, 107,372
Outside linebacker - DeMarcus Ware, 151,589
Strong safety - Roy Williams, 108,450
Punter - Mat McBriar, 85,609
Special teams - Keith Davis, 70,490

lol trading chad johnson for deangelo hall. the bengals already have their starting corners for the next 5-6 years and I don't think deangelo LOL would be worth starting over johnathon joseph.

Yes, because your pass defense is stellar!!! Ranked #28 in the league. We're #12 by the way. We've only allowed 9 TDs passing....let's see the Bengals have allowed 20 TDs and about 40 more ypg.

Pass defense stats are worthless for a shitty team, nobody tries that hard against them.

Unless they play the Patriots a bunch of times a season.

Yes but we rank statistically better in every defensive category with the exception of sacks of which the Bungals have 1 more of. You can call the Falcons out on their offense but the defense has played much better this year.

NFC East

1. Dallas Cowboys 8-1
2. NY Giants 6-3
3. :lol Washington Redskins 5-4
4. Philadelphia Eagles 4-5

Now? :D

Keep in mind also, if your rushing defense isn't that good, then your pass defense will look better in stats.

So, Freeney on IR. Anyone think that the fact the Colts are having to move more secondary players into the starting lineup is hurting their special teams?

Well, if the Bears are going to lose, they might as well go down in a blaze of glory w/ Rex. Not the monotone boringness Griese brought while at QB.

Rex always keeps the game exciting for everyone involved!

NFL keeps cashing in on T.O.'s Touchdown Towel

The No Fun League was so offended by T.O. waving his Touchdown Towel in Philly that he was fined 10 grand.

Fortunately, it appears that the league got over its hurt feelings. NFL Network is now using footage of T.O. waving his towel to promote the Packers-Cowboys game that will air on the network that most folks don't get.

"It's crazy. It's like a double standard," T.O. said. "They fine me for it, but then they promo my towel. It's ridiculous."

dude you're an idiot if you think atlanta is guaranteed a win in st. louis.

we've been bad this year, but they've played very well at home even with all the injuries. and bulger is getting hot the past few games. the defense is getting better as the season goes on, the offense is what has cost us all year.

he's predicting doom for Atlanta, and he said he saw one or two wins... that's hardly calling St. Louis a guaranteed win.

I like how Shannon Sharpe made that comment this weekend about St. Louis, "win out and you win your division." Funny yet true.

It's easy to complete 70% of your passes when more than half of them are dump offs to the RB in the flat. We are just going to have to agree to disagree.

Well, it will be pretty to build my case when Leftwich loses both of his starts and misses the rest of the season from his next injury.

I dunno, dude. You just don't strike me as particularly smart about the Falcons... shit, you supported Vick until the end when it was obvious that the SS Ookie was a sinking ship for a while.

I don't see any article, but I assume it has to do with Alex Smith admitting that he's been playing hurt the past few weeks.

Smith admitted Wednesday that his recently separated right shoulder and a chronically strained forearm have contributed to his awful play in the past three games of the 49ers' seven-game losing streak.

"Without a doubt, I'm not throwing the same way I was the first three weeks, and last year," Smith said before sitting out part of practice to rest his forearm. "Trying to play through this is hard. ... I chose to go out there and play, thought I could, thought it would get better as the weeks go on, and it hasn't."

The former No. 1 draft pick even wondered aloud whether he should take a prolonged break to get his shoulder back in shape, perhaps for 2008.

"No excuses, I chose to go out there," Smith said. "If you asked me whether I'd do it again, that's the question. It's continued to linger, and that's the most frustrating thing for me."

Smith's candid discussion of his injury woes contradicted several recent statements by both Smith and coach Mike Nolan. Both have claimed the quarterback's injuries weren't serious enough to cause his inaccurate throws and the resulting lack of confidence in the third-year pro's abilities.

Nolan's probably realizing that since it's out in the open now he better shut Smith down for the season.

I could say the same about you. The way you down them, it's sometimes hard to tell difference between you and Enron. :P

Vick is a dumbass true enough, but that doesn't change the fact that outside of Chris Chandler, he lead the team further in the playoffs than any other QB in franchise history. When I think about it, I don't recall any other QBs taking the Falcons to the playoffs more than once besides Vick.

the bengals defense sucks, but deangelo hall for chad johnson is like the stupidest trade idea ever. even if both corners are busts it will take time to figure that out, and trading away such an awesome receiver for a mediocre (at best) corner is a giant ripoff. luckily such a trade wouldn't happen since it involves the offense, and that's the one side of the team that bengals management wants to keep.

Plus, DeAngelo Hall is kinda streaky as a corner anyways.

:lol :lol Sean Salisbury putting John Clayton on the spot.

"That's what you call waffling, which is what you do best. PICK!"
