Someone somewhere mentioned using that along with the portal gem would make dying a lot easier to bear. If it works that's genius.

I never played this genre except for Diablo III. Probably not a good game to start with, since I didn't really like it.

You can try logging out, to be honest I never had a character that can beat brutus, always had spent like 10 portal scroll, and 90% of the fight is against desync. I only play range character, so at least kiting is manageable.

correct, as long as your using swords in at least one hand. The idea with choosing specialist nodes like that is you will be exclusively be using those weapons instead of doing one sword and one axe.

I got 4 of those, LOL. There's actually about 4 different uniques that have dropped at least 3 times for me. I don't know if that is the best luck, or the worst luck.

It really doesn't feel like F2P. If you sat me down blindly to play this, I'd never suspect it. Only item available to buy that can affect gameplay is extra inventory slots. It's a neat model.

I finally beat Piety in normal, first time in hardcore making it that far =/ A lot of near dead moment, I felt like I am either pretty under gear or screwed up my build big time.
I am trying to go for high block tempest shield + lightning trap focusing on lightning damage. It seems like I ran out of mana after 7 or 8 traps (without spamming flask), and even faster if I link it with +lightning damage support gem (only have it linked with lightning penetration atm). I don't run out of mana farming, since the mob refill my flask pretty quick, but it becoming a problem when I am trying to fight a boss.
I have like 200 armor, ~35% block chance, 700 health, 400 ES, resist 75% fire, 40% ice and lightning. 650 mana, 30% reserved by tempest shield.
My build, trying to get all the shield block nodes that I can, along with the trap passive (10% penetration, 6s indestructible, +1 trap)
Any help will be great.

Any tips on how to get some Currency to progress in Nemesis Merciless Difficulty?
I need to Upgrade my gear, but I just can't find any Alchemy or Chaos Orbs. Only shitty rares that have to be vendored.

You don't find alchemy or Chaos Orbs like they are common. Either you trade found stuff or grind to get those orbs yourself.
Had one, might be the only reason why the rest is not screwed. But yeah memtesting the shit out of it lead to the ram issue. Nothing else seems to be an issue, but won't be surprised if the motherboard is screwed and just waiting at some opportune time to bail on me.

First farm Ledge a lot, then farm Fellshire, then farm Sarn.

Dunno if that working but with Necromantic Aegis, there could be the way to cast spells on minions death.
Lose that Tempest Shield - it doesn't do you any good if your trapper, tbh. As for bosses you should mainly use Bear Trap/Fire Trap. Link Bear trap with Added fire damage.
That build sounds confusing to me.
Your weapons are mainly traps so why do you invest in block chance ? Block chance is good stat but when you won't get into malee it is fairly useless. Projectiles can be simply outmaneuvered with just high run speed.
This is why tempest shield is useless to you. It drains your mana and doesn't really give you any boost. Tempest Shield point is malee fight where it will hurt mobs and give you more block chance.
Also lighting trap is kind of lame on bosses and is terrific in groups.
Imo choose malee with tempest or ranged wih traps. You base stats are good same as resists and life.

I died again in Nemesis. This time, it was on my way to Dominus in Cruel, and I succumed to the guy throwing lightning traps. I believe this is Caliga? I quickly alt-f4, and did not make it.
This is getting hard to deal with. I don't have the energy to restart a character all the time, and my gear is trash.

You can apply your way of thinking to "why teleport back to town during a boss fight." The answer is simple: because I do not want to die. I'm not bashing softcore play, because I am sure folks Alt-F4 in softcore as well as TP back to town during a boss fight.
One of the reasons why I enjoy playing HC league is because of the care in which people play their characters and more serious aspect of it. It is more rewarding.
And Alt-F4 has not saved my ass recently. Within the last few weeks, I ripped 3 level 80+ characters, and 2 characters in Nemesis league.
I've also found the game to be extremely laggy lately. Maybe this is due to the increased player base. The game is simply not too stable...

Yeah, ripped to that guy last night. Ridiculous.
The indestructible trap node has no value, I've never seen a trap die. Radius nodes are quite valuable especially against leapers and flicker strike enemies.
Lightning trap does almost 0 single target damage and you might need to diversify your build a bit. Its really fun to use but its literally one of the worst attack skills against solo targets; whoever triggers the trap is immune to all the other balls even if they chain/fork back onto them.
The three trap rotation can be sufficient dps if you're playinf a lil glass cannon but trapping is one of the single most mana intensive attack methods in the late
(game...seems scary to try in hc. Fire trap is
the better general purpose attack and scales
extremely well with burn damage.
Also as the other reply mentioned: trapping isn't really a melee endeavor. Considering where you have to go to get the master trap nodes you are really incentivized to go acro/ondars guile. Considering how many things in the game count as projectiles, ondars guile is probably one of the strongest single passives especially with 0 drawbacks.

Thanks for the input, I guess I was trying stand and tank while setting traps below me. I still end up kiting most of time. I think I will reroute those point meant for block into health and the curse nodes.
One concern I have is that fire trap require Dex and bear trap require strength. I had those with me but I cannot level them any further long time ago. Should I aim for those dex and str nodes around me? Or should I get them from gears?

I don't think you need that much mana. I know you are going for a mind over matter build, but I don't think it's worth it for a ST. You are possibly taking a good amount of health nodes, and can even use blood magic with some abilities (you'll have great regen) and use the mana for other auras (with a reduced mana support). I have a level 59 Ranger with THIS Passive tree and I am doing pretty OK.
Well, if anything, I switched around a few health nodes for you that give you more health (in right end and left end). Also, Diamond flesh is absolutely worth it. Check it out to see if you like it: LINK

Completely missed diamond flesh and that cluster of 12% life next to blood drinker. lol
