Yesterday I went to redeem Sony rewards points for the first time in a while. I usually get like $10 in points every 6 months or so. Anyway, I check the app and I only had a measly 27 pts ..so I emailed Sony to find out where all my points are only to find out you can only get points if you buy stuff with the Sony rewards credit card. Apparently it's been this way since March '22.
To me this is just an unnecessary change that while not the biggest deal in the world it feels like another "fuck you" from Sony.
Since Jim Ryan's been in charge there have been a lot of shitty changes and nickel and diming of their loyal customers. The$10 increase for the same game as what ps4 players get (3d audio and dual sense are small things that don't justify it imo), the cross gen period going on way to long which doesn't honor people who upgraded to ps5 (God of war ragnarok being cross gen is a sham), lying about next gen exclusivity to make ps5 more enticing only to change their minds like gt7 (it was advertised as a ps5 exclusive for a long time), charging money for Uncharted 4 remaster and ghost of tsushima upgrades , charging full price for LoU remake to people who've bought that game twice.
Now recently they're raising the price of ps5 and not offering refunds on Remake due to their faulty packaging. It's crazy. There was also that controversy with Forbidden West where even though they initially promised it would be $60, they charged $70 on the store and when people complained so much that they had to reverse that decision they STILL didn't change the price on the store (you had to buy it physically or from their website)!
There's just a lot of little things that have added up over the last 2 years to where I started to resent this company.
