Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

This kid is clearly lying.

Why are people having trouble with female Salandit? The game outright gives you two opportunities.

Either catch a male Igglybuff with Cute Charm (hard), or catch a male Eevee and evolve it into Sylveon (easy).

What level do pokemon start clowning if you havent beat olivia? I have Tsareena from that trade at about level 32 and she has not given me problems, she is at a high affection though. I wonder if that effects anything.

I wanna thank the random dude who had a modest popplio in the GTS. Took about 20 mins of power leveling, but now I have a Lv 40 primarina. It's so good! Now I don't have to go without a water type.

What's the male/female ratio? I found a female one within 2-3 tries of searching for it.

The kids playing Pokemon video games on their handhelds are my favourite part of the series.

Nah it's just how the games show trading. They always show the handheld.

I guess in-universe, the handhelds are the trade terminals. With also the concept of PCs, the Pokemon are essentially digitized. In many ways Pokemon preceded Digimon in the concept outside of Porygon.

Been playing for 6 hours.

Pros:

- Impressed with the art direction, everything feels alive and colorful. The new engine fits Pokémon perflectly and I don't miss the grid gameplay at all.
- Islands map, nice to see some old Pokémon revamped.
- No more HMs, yes!
- Good variety of catachable Pokémon early on.

Cons:

- Music is overall forgettable. I miss the "intense action" tone of the battle themes.
- Too much linear with too many useless and annoying conversations.
- The "care" functionnality after a fight. I never cared for that since Ruby/Saphirre, but now I feel obliged to pet them to remove their statuts. Huge waste of time.
- Rottom Pokédex is the shittiest thing they ever done. Annoying, took half of the bottom screen for nothing, boring functionnalites. Where the hell is the Pokédex from ORAS?
- There is a small loading in every corner of the route/city you're in, even if you open a small gate to simply go on the other side of the fence... That actually makes the progression slower than X/Y.

I am disappointed. Graphics engine is nice, but other than that, it's all X/Y over again.

Just to make sure I'm doing this correctly...

I have a Male Modest Salandit.
I have a female Salandit.
I give the Male the Everstone, passing the Nature down to the Egg.
Hatch eggs repeatedly until one is a female.

I've hatched ~5 eggs and they have all been male. I know the chances are slimmer, but the Everstone doesn't pass down gender as well, does it? Or do I just need to keep trying?

I also have an Adamant Female Rowlet I need to start breeding out.

You're just unlucky!

That kid's not getting "a" Mewtwo from an actual in-universe Pokemon trade.

just got the Sun/Moon steelbook combo back from amazon... which one's got the cooler pokemen?
also, how early into the game can I make trades? I wanna ham it up and run through with all 3 starters

So after about an hour of SOS chaining Cutieflys, the chain was broken because the last one ran out of moves and had to Struggle. It called for help and I tried to catch it twice, and it failed both calls and kept breaking free. Those Speed Ev's were worth it though, my Lycanroc went from 110 to 115 speed and my Tsareena went from 81 to 84.

I thought it was just a simple meta jab at hacked Wonder Trade Pokemon. Not some science stuff.

There's only one Mewtwo in the game universe. It's never been canonically captured by anyone.

this is one of the strangest leaps of logic I have ever seen

Guys, anyone got a snow warning Vulpix they can share with me? Doesn't have to have good IVs, I just want the little fox. I don't have much to give in return (for now), as I didn't even beat Olivia's trial yet.

One major area they messed up on is that when a pokemon calls for help it kills the whole catching pokemon thing this game is built around until you defeat one. They should have just allowed you to catch both of them is you want to.

God I wish I had a good Ditto. Not looking forward to chaining them

Alternatively, you could wait til post-game, level one, and use the hyper training (or whatever its called) to boost its IVs?

Or did you mean more on an individual 'nature' basis?

Numbnexus and Pokeaimmd are cool.

I lost to pokeaimmd on showdown last night :(

I second pokeaimMD. Great competitive player who explains his thought process really wel. I follow him and pretty much all of his friends and have greatly improved my battling skills thanks to it.

FUCK YOU SOS

I'M JUST CATCHING A GODDAMN POKEMON

who knows, they keep messing with the universe that maybe there are multiple mewtwos

I love that you can Fly to practically anywhere of note. Although maybe Verdant Cave didn't need a spot. The PokéCenter is right next to it and selecting it tricky unless you zoom in.
