Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

What's the general opinion on Alolan Marowak? I'm looking for a Fire type to play around with, and he looks pretty cool. That and hitting something with a Thick Club boosted STAB Flare Blitz with no recoil sounds really cool.

Can you get hidden abilities from breeding, or is it SOS only? And if it's SOS only, how many do you need to chain before you start seeing hidden abilities?

For in game he's terrible because he doesn't get flare blitz until way late and he can't get his signature ghost move until the move relearner because Gamefreak sucks. Shame too. Get a female Sandit instead, way better for in game.

I wish Jango-o or whatever its name is wasn't so late in the game. Wish it would've been catchable around the mid point like Axew :/

Well, I finally found the last Zygarde cell.

It turned out to be in between the cars opposite the Thrifty Mart. Which is really weird, as I checked that spot out (because I didn't recall getting one there), like, twenty times, day and night, while mashing the A-button everywhere. Today I randomly walked past and could see it before I got near it.

So I don't know what triggered it to finally spawn, because it certainly wasn't doing so before. Anyway, I never want to do that quest again.

For those of you who have completed or nearly completed Sun and Moon, how would you rank them compared to all of the other mainline games?

Already got a shiny and pokerus on the first island. Life is good! I think im finally ready to leave this place but ive spent 10 hours slow rolling it out here.

Bummer that the frames are an issue even on the New 3DS. If the rumors are right and the 2nd version of this gen is coming to Switch that will be even more fuel for me wanting to pick one of those up. This game is fantastic.

One flaw this gen has pointed out is just how bad the Run mechanic still is in wild Pokemon battles. All these super slow Pokemon and you can't get away even if you're ten levels over.

Just make it level based.

Was this game made on the Switch and downported to the 3DS? They took a year off and the game is still slowing down/dropping frames even on the n3DS models.

I can't wait for Pokémon Stars so I can finally drop the 3DS.

Maaaaan why do you've to wait so long for mimikyu? Someone willing to trade me one especially of this someone plays in Japanese I'd be happy ^.^?

I absolutely loved it. Story was intriguing. Battles were fun. I'm doing the endgame stuff right now and it's cool too.

I do miss gyms though. I wish the game had both trials and gyms but I know that's asking for too much haha.

My two biggest complaints, to many trainer battles only held one or two Pokemon. That's weak. Also, many areas and trials felt to short or small. Very few areas felt like dungeons or lengthy and due to this they are not difficult enough.

Gold silver still #1

Spoilers: Did not expect
Lusamine to be their mother, rather than being their sister. Then again, I guess that was obvious the minute it was revealed she's actually 40. Also, is this our first major female antagonist? If so, neat.

I'm reading a lot of complaints about capturing Pokémon, what's going on with this?

Uhm. I'm only on island 2 but it's my favorite Pokemon game since Silver/Gold and nothing is going to change that between now and the end of the game unless some NPC takes my Snorlax away from me.

There's a mechanic now where low HP pokemon call for help with annoying frequency (if you're trying to capture) and annoying infrequency (if you're trying to chain them for rare/shiny pokes).

This is now officially my favorite Pokemon game; it's surpassed HGSS for me, and is miles better than XY/ORAS imo, which was utterly unmemorable to me.

As for the complaints, the one major one I have is that not all Pokemon, not just Totem pokemon, are able to call their friends to help them out. Which is unnecessarily irritating when you're trying to just simply catch a Pokemon, because you can't use Pokeballs when there's more than one Pokemon out there.

So to people who think the game is too easy, are you using the EXP share?
I'm not and I'm fighting every single trainer and my Pokemon are only 37 and 38 at the start of Poni island and I'm fighting a level 44 Garbodor.

The problem for me is, even being under leveled, the AI is just not intelligent. If they used the logic
the Champion
seems to have, it'd be amazing.

Team make up is also laughable. So many trainers with 1-2 Pokemon.

There's a new mechanic in place where a wild Pokemon can call more Pokemon into battle. This is obviously a prob because you generally want to weaken a poke before capture, and they call in extra Pokemon more frequently when they're low on health. So since you can't toss a pokeball when there's multiple targets, you have to kill one, yet, they can call in more on that exact same turn. So if you're unlucky they'll just keep calling them in before you can toss a ball after killing one off. It's highly frustrating when this happens, and I've encountered it a few times. It never dampered my experience but it prolonged the inevitable capture.

I'm an experienced player and I'm still getting my Pokemon knocked out regularly and have whited out a few times. The difficulty seems pretty spot on to me.

Finally completed my endgame team!

Decidueye (Ollie) Lv44
Alolan Raichu (Rei) Lv40
Flygon (Lotus) Lv45
Alolan Ninetails (Setsuna) Lv40
Salazzle (Koro) Lv40
Lycanrock-Midday (Negus) Lv40

Now all that's left is to polish up their movesets...

Got a decent Mimikyu now after some breeding to be used as the first EV trained pokemon.
Obviously dont have pokerus or the poweritems yet, so anyone know how many rattatas I need to knock out during a SOS chain to get max speed EVs on it?

Lol I just did the same thing. Go with Jolly?

I need to find where you can get the EV increase gear.

Love the name Setsuna for Ninetales!

Fucking SOS is getting in the way of my enjoyment of the game, not even kidding.

I do love the game looooads so far but it's starting to take an eternity to catch a damn Pokémon.

Oh my god I found a Bagon on on my second attempt in that small patch on Melemele. I went back to get a island scan Totodile and gave it a quick shot.

Yo, what...

I see encounter tables for all sorts of Pokemon when surfing on Brooklet Hill. But I've been here for two days fishing the bubbling fishing spots trying to find a Feebas and have never encountered something while just surfing.

Is it just supremely and extremely uncommon?

Feebas has a 5% chance of appearing, at best, by fishing. And that's only if the fishing spot is bubbling. Any other time, it's gonna be 1%.

Haha, thanks. I didn't play the game I got the idea from, but I always thought that was a nice-sounding name.

Am I the only one that doesn't nickname pokemon? lol

Lol, I used to never bother myself. But once 6th Gen happened, I dunno, I got bored and figured why not, and then I kept it up ever since. Certainly does help you feel closer to them though lol

Ace Trainers are no joke in this game. Half of my team just got taken out by a fucking Wingull. Then again, 5 of my team was weak to either Water or Flying and Magnemite couldn't live past two Water Pulses. So my team still needs tweaking.
