I know there is talk of upping the minimum wage to $8.50 in NY state, if it's proposed here it might give the movement enough momentum to go through.

I think the ideas are great, but SOTU has become more of a media show for the Congress. I think everything is fine from the Presidential side of SOTU.

Nothing will really happen due to the current makeup of Senate and house and Filibuster still firmly in place. Media will just debate the politics of it instead of the merit of the ideas. Everybody will get a small bump in approval.
