What's really weird is that Sanders supporters can't even apply the Occam's Razor approach and conclude that maybe African Americans don't WANT a radical socialist candidate, that maybe some of them are relatively *gasp* conservative because they know fuck-ups in implementing massive changes will fall disproportionately on them.

That whole Reddit....whatever for some reason reminded me of one of my new favorite musical obsessions. It's a song by the Indigo Girls in response to Herman Wallance and the Angola 3. It's called "Rise of the Black Messiah."

My friend I heard you tell of slavery’s end but have you heard of mass incarceration?
That ol’ Jim Crow he just keeps getting born with a new hanging rope for the black man’s scourge.

Such a damn powerful song, to me at least.

Since I'm super happy with yesterday's results, I'd also love it if Hillary would play "What Happens Tomorrow?" by Melissa Etheridge.

I believe a woman can work hard and succeed
And we could be content
To believe that she could be in charge
Of the free
And be the President.

If not now, when?
If not today then
What happens tomorrow?
What happens tomorrow?
If you become the change
You want to see you change
What happens tomorrow
What happens tomorrow

Sorry. I know I'm not supposed to care that Hillary is poised to be the first woman to ever top the ticket of one of the two major parties, but I am. Sorry.

Or that maybe anyone who hears "free college" and "free healthcare" realizes it's too good to be true no matter what their skin looks like.

1) Posting Reddit stuff is like posting Hillaryis44 stuff eight years ago.
2) White people are annoying usually! I guess that's cause there are a lot of us.

There's also the possibility they are just more conservative. I guess I'm a more conservative liberal. I don't really want to pay for free college for other people. I think fewer people in general should be going to college!

I feel like a lot of Bernie supporters confuse cynicism and supporting inequality with having a basic grasp of finance, mathematics, and common sense.

He's not a socialist.

America is so far-right that a Conservative party in scandinavia would be called a communist party.

We ignorant Americans are still struggling to understand the wonders of socialism. Can you please explain the superior morality of confiscating all wealth of refugees before letting them in your country?

*sigh*

I support Sanders and wish he were doing better with minorities, but when all's said and done, it's on him and the campaign if he can't win them over. Whitesplaining is bullshit.

There's currently a shitton of discussion about the election in the Scandinavia.

From what Ive read, this are peoples opinion about the candidates:

Trump: Fascist, sexististic exonophobic shithead.
Rubio: Dumbass shithead.
Cruz: Retarded stupid ignorant.
Hillary: Super mega conservative.
Bernie: Conservative.

... Not sure this is the path to argue in an era when the Sweden Democrats and Danish People's Party are popular right now?

I think it's even more basic than that. I think a lot of them group in the age of Obama. For some reason, their takeaway from that is that the President can do whatever s/he wants, therefore why wouldn't we go with the person who is offering rainbows and unicorns? What Hillary's offering isn't as sexy, because she's only offering what she thinks she can actually deliver.

If you're not super into politics until this cycle, I can see how Bernie's stuff sounds way better. And it is...as long as you don't worry about anything like legislation and paying for it. Otherwise, it's great. If we were electing a Queen/King, sure Bernie would be fine. But we aren't and we're not, so he isn't.

It wouldn't be the first time a politician promised unrealistic goals. I think people are harping on this only because it modestly differentiates Clinton and Sanders. I have no issue with Sanders promising these things; I think his general...I dunno, lack of interest in topics outside of his wheelhouse and the way he frames change indicate to me he's not going to be a great "bargainer" in chief. Obama sucked at this too, but for the other reason I guess.

I don't disagree that he's not the first to propose unrealistic goals. It's more the way that some of his supporters try and frame his policies as "cheap and easy" and suggest that the only reason they haven't been implemented is that every else in the Democratic party wants to fuck over the poor.

I've been emboldened to start posting in the OT. This isn't courageousness or bravery, it's selfishness. IMO. Purity matters until people's lives are on the line. I'm not a Republican.

One of my biggest concerns with Bernie is his seemingly unwillingness to actually learn about topics outside of his wheelhouse of issues.

His comments about Iran, Saudi Arabia and ISIS exemplify my worry.

When some Bernie people start going on about Citizens United, I would LOVE to poll them and ask them which politician was the Citizens United group trying to take down. I don't think even half of them know. This shit is personal for Hillary.

Rumors starting to circulate that Kasich thinks staying in gets him Trump veep pick by holding back others.

I'm not buying it one bit.

{early voting began yesterday here in LA. Trump Trump Trump! Every vote counts for him here - GOP's contest is proportional!}

Posts like this make me kinda happy my black vote will contribute to the curbstomp Sanders will receive across the south.
Bro. He walked with a black person in a march once. Some MLK guy or something (is this like BLM?) I saw an old timey photo of it! Do some googling for 10 seconds before you doom the planet.

Bernie really needed to win Iowa and Nevada. No way he gets the nomination now. Wonder how long Kasich and Carson stay in.

Carson will stay in as long as he can continue to redirecting 80% of his donations to direct-mail consultancies to get more donations, and sell books. It's an enriching business.

He clearly doesn't care enough about the damage he is doing to his reputation, or doesn't realize the damage, or made a strategic calculation that it's worth it.

So they're tied in pledged. But that's going to change soon. I almost feel bad for the Sanders campaign. The media narrative has changed to "the vultures are circling" once Super Tuesday comes. I've seen a lot of supporters now have a defeatist attitude. Washington Post reports he's burning through cash. I think he really needed the win here or a much closer loss.

And he is burning money like crazy to stay competitive in one or two states at a time.

He needed the momentum to boost his ability to competed when many states come into play.

The rumor that he is going to skip SC After spending huge amounts of money and focus on Super Tuesday is not going to help.

Having Super Tuesday THREE DAYS after SC is practically cruel and unusual punishment, lol.
