The wife called me in tears after casting her first ever vote for a female President.

All the feels.

Now we just keep our fingers crossed for the senate.

Amidst all of the bullshit this campaign that brought to the forefront... This country is on the precipice of electing a black man and a woman back to back.

That's pretty impressive. 20 years ago you wouldn't have found a soul alive who would have believed such a claim.

Voted, yall. Gave chuck schumer a vote because I saw him at a graduation once and he was nice. (Though that is a completely stupid reason and no politician goes to a graduation to be nasty) Was completely uninformed about court nominations so chose randomly, and there is barely any information online about Leon Ruchelsman and Odessa Kennedy whatsoever, I imagine most other voters bubbled in randomly too

Even 10 years ago, that kind of thought for a president is straight up fantasy.

Man we have proggressed so far, even though there's always more to be done.

Hmm not sure. If it says you're registered, it should go through. I'd call the number intermittently. Also try calling 866-OUR-VOTE and see if they can at least give you some resources to look into.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just called 866-OUR-VOTE and they said they would let someone in Missouri know about the issue of people not being able to get through and recommended to keep trying the number.

You're welcome, hope it gets figured out.

I had the privilege this year to finally see my wife get naturalized after nearly 25 years of permanent residency. The ceremony was one of the most hopeful, positive things I've seen. People come here from all over with all kinds of culture and experiences and integrate their story into our American fabric. If you ever have a friend get naturalized, go the ceremony. It''ll melt your cynicism in the system away in a blink of an eye.

this election has been the stalingrad of the culture wars-a titanic, door-to-door struggle between the a ferocious and emboldened white privilege and those that believe we're better off when we recognize and fix our own biases so we can learn from one another. There's an argument that the issues weren't talked about this election, but I feel like the battle for America's identity was the central issue, and we hashed it out in the open in a way that we haven't been able to before.

Once you figure out what kind of society you are going to build, the rest is details-gory fights, but nothing like what we've seen on display this go around.

Oh my god

There's this person on my facebook who hates both trump and clinton and thinks Sanders sold out(She was a sanders stand. This is probably her first time voting, she's the same age as me)

And she's posting like she's some woke motherfucker who's smarter than the system. Goddamn I hate people like that. Fuck off.

Whatever sheeple.

The Onion's Tim Kaine jokes are going to be every bit as good as Biden's jabs.

edit: votecastr seems like trash. Weak early voting analysis coupled with bad sampling = firey wreck.

Thinking about my college bud and the rallies last night, I've decided on how I'm gonna handle others who vote for someone I despise. I'll listen first, I'll see their reasons why, and I can't just assume they support a rasc...

Fffff now I'm at odds again, but I guess I'd hope for ignorance, but if it's for the worst reasons, I guess that makes it easy to figure out where to go next.

Added my +1 for Clinton in Michigan. And since my daughter is home sick today, I was able to bring her in and show her a vote for the first female president as well. Feels fantastic

How was the line? I think TX is going to be closer than people are giving us credit.

I am in the Houston suburb with the highest amount of asian americans in the state (my city is 1/3rd Asian) and one of the most diverse counties in the country. I went right before work (~7:15 AM). Other than me I only saw one other person who was not anglo or african american. There were about 15 people in front of me and when I left about 15 people behind me. Entire process took about 5 minutes. I don't think Texas is flipping but it will be closer than it ever has.
