Why is Votecastr garbage?

Vice (I believe) was promoting them earlier. They seemed pretty reliable, if only because of the large sample sizes.

Votecastr has no history so we can't actually tell how accurate their predictions will be. Plus they had Stein with 1.7% of the vote in NV...where she isn't even on the ballot.

I think you vastly underestimate the Midwestern mindset of "I'm not letting a woman lead me." Seriously--this is easily the most understated aspect of this campaign. I never saw anyone do a writeup on this topic. It is a huge issue in the Midwest.

I'm from the midwest as well. Anyone with that attitude was already voting republican. If there is anyone who would vote against Clinton just because she's a woman, but would otherwise vote for a democratic male, they'd be cancelled out by someone voting for Hillary simply because she is a woman. That's how few there are.

Not to mention Clinton polled better in Michigan than Obama.

I have gotten roughly 10 texts from Hillary folk in the last day or so for me to get out and vote, 7 of them have been from PA where I was registered to vote in 2012 and the other 3 have been from Mississippi where I am registered now. It's kind of annoying at this point, but it is encouraging to me that they are so persistent.
Same here. I even got an email that told me the address of my voting precinct. Pretty cool!

Man Who Eats Breakfast At Dunkin' Donuts Every Morning And Enjoys The 'Saw' Films Allowed To Vote
YOUNGSTOWN, OH—According to records obtained from the Mahoning County registrar’s office, local man David Kearney, who eats breakfast at Dunkin’ Donuts every day and is a passionate fan of the Saw film franchise, is actually allowed to vote in today’s general election.

Reports confirmed that Kearney, 34, enjoys sitting down in a Dunkin’ Donuts location and eating a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant each morning before work, has seen every Saw movie multiple times, and is freely able to play an active role in the democratic process like every other registered voter in the United States.

“I just can’t get going in the morning without a Dunkaccino,” said Kearney, who possesses the right to visit a polling center and help decide, quite literally, the political direction of the entire nation over the next four years. “They’re so good. Goes great with a Boston Kreme.”

Hello PoliGAF! Lurker here.

I saw a graphic on Facebook that put Hillary at a 70% chance of winning the election. Has she already won? Can I rest easy?

That's a bullshit stereotype right there. Those voters would already be voting republican.

Donald Trump says daughter Tiffany isn't quite on par with Don Jr., Eric and Ivanka...

http://mashable.com/2016/11/08/trum...t/?utm_cid=mash-com-Tw-main-link#8IN_c7QdxSqM

"I'm very proud of my children. I mean, I'm just looking at them right now as an example... but I'm very proud 'cause Don and Eric and Ivanka and, you know, to a lesser extent 'cause she just got out of school, out of college, but, uh, Tiffany, who's also been so terrific. I mean, they work so hard."

Did Trump have to say he's less proud of Tiffany? Of course not. Would it be Election Day if he didn't? No. No it would not.

For posterity, here is a GIF showing the hosts' reactions as Donald states Tiffany's college graduation as a reason for being proud of her to a lesser extent.

Wait, did Trump have his whole block shut down, along with the dump trucks barricading the building? Is he going to declare himself an independent nation?

Let me ask something to those that probably know more than me...

1. You need to register to vote.
2. Why do you designate a party affiliation if you can just vote for anyone?
3. Said party affiliation during the primaries actually matters right? I recall people on both sides being upset they couldn't vote, and that apparently if you're registered independent you can go either way?

Thank you.
