Watching CNN broadcast from inside the Clinton plane turn to the window showing it start moving with a splitscreen of it turning on the tarmac is a little too meta for me.
He has zero GOTV, although technically I don't know if it's a "fail" if there were never expectations in the first place. Clinton ground work on the other hand has planted strong seeds for wins in FL, NC and NV, and that's just what's immediately noticeable from early voting in a few states. There's no reason to think it's not helping her more broadly, although we won't really know about MI/PA until tomorrow.

That's just not true, yes the Dems have a far superior targeting and analytics, but the GOP/Trump campaign also does some similar stuff.

You don't need a GOTV operation, apparently. Just spew a whole bunch of racist and xenophobic bullshit, and white people come running.

Is the Trump campaign informing people of when to vote, where to vote, deadlines for registration, what to bring, and resources for looking into downballot candidates?

I haven't heard about them doing any of that, but I know Hillary's done that.

The Trump campaign isn't doing crap for GOTV and have passed the buck to state and national parties, who can't afford to not do anything because of their own races.

It's classic Trump-he thinks of this as transactional and zero-sum: why pay for work that you can force someone else to do for free? More money to dump into his horrible digital campaign firm.

Fair enough. That was a bit of an exaggeration. Clinton campaign has apparently directly contacted 45M voters since September? Holy crap, including 6M+ doors and 8M+ calls this past weekend. That's how you get a lot of first-time and uncommon voters. Xenophobic excitement and a buzzing internet base gets out your vote on Reddit, I guess, though Russians and young teenage boys can't vote.

Unrelated comment: The CNN story of being pinned down by ISIS for a day in tight combat is the most intense news piece I've seen this year.

And far too many democrats claim it's just the white people down on their luck facing disproportionately hard times when compared to the rest of the country, when we know that's bullshit.

It's either racism, sexism, thinking Clinton is the anti-Christ, or all of the above.

All are terrible reasons to vote for anyone.

Fox can't even get a proper screenshot for their site.

I saw a guy on a street corner holding up a Trump yard sign this morning. Trump GOTV is legit. Don't discount the effects of this. If that guy stands there all day he's probably reaching a few thousand voters. Now extrapolate that to every street corner in the country.

i saw this one guy with a trump halloween mask recently. considering it's after halloween, that must mean a lot of masks were sold. he was on tv in front of a lot of people saying a bunch of crazy shit.

Yeah it's nowhere near the Clinton campaign, but it's also not just rallies and social media.

They do analytics and some engagement, but they clearly lack the organization, direction and experience, not to mention Trump always makes the final call based on "instinct".

The numbers out of Miami-Dade and Broward are savage. It's like the sleeping giant has been fully awakened.

Trump is getting absolutely rekt in South Florida. I'm on the 600k margin train from both Dade and Broward.

I haven't paid attention to Fox News in years... what does it mean, even from just a programming point of view, that they are showing this map?

Well put it this way, the day before the 2012 elections Fox were predicting Romney. In some cases by a landslide. Today they're showing Clinton with enough electoral college votes without any of the toss up states.

Lessons learned maybe?

Then there is the gulf in fundraising and the lack of surrogates to dispatch.

Walking my dog in Pompano Beach, I've seen several HRC GOTV operatives knocking on doors.

This is my 6th Presidential or Midterm election.

I have yet to have the opportunity to vote in ONE competitive national, statewide, or congressional race.

It is silly, but I really want to move to a battleground state.
Hey, I know this conversation is long over but,
Atlanta is calling. ;)
We've got great food, great people, and so many trees! :p

This tells me about their GOTV plans outside of the RNC
@sahilkapur: Kellyanne Conway says the Trump campaign "beefed up our field team" in NV after seeing the early returns. (cc: @ralstonreports)

Are you guys still running a Discord for tomorrow? Is the main form of communication in there voice or text? I wanna join you guys but can't do voice since I'll be at a gathering all night.

I hope we get some shitty Nevada poll today that has Trump up so Nevada goes back red on 538.

It's just a text chatroom.

No, it sucks. Way better to live in a deep blue state that will fight for your values rather than have every election be some titanic battle between basic reason and racist madness played out at every level of government.

(Happy to be moving to Seattle in the next few months from NC).

edit: aleppo gets 2.5% nationwide, Stein gets .5%. 5% is way too high for third party total.

I'm kind of ashamed to live in the USA right now.

eh. I'd be ashamed if Trump won, but it's not going to happen.

Every country is full of racist asshats. It's just something you have to accept and live with.

Hillary winning is proof that we don't live in the worst of all possible worlds and I'm ok with that.

I'll be replacing you by the next election, hopefully. Asheville seems nice...

I can agree with this. It doesn't matter if Clinton wins, my perception of the US has been downgraded significantly because we allowed a guy like Trump, to get were he has gotten.

To the white people that didn't vote for him, I thank them dearly. They are the ones that help me keep what little faith I have in the US. Thank you.
