I think Rubio's already effectively handed Florida to Drumpf regardless of whether he stays or drops. All those early votes + Rubio cratering = any stop Drumpf effort in FL is doomed
I agree.

On one hand, I personally think it's insane that he hasn't dropped out yet. On the other hand, it's probably already too late for anyone else to step in and beat Trump. It's lose-lose for everyone except Trump. And meanwhile Ted Cruz is apparently dumping a ton of money into the state.

With plans for taking on Clinton in Illinois — over her ties to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel — and Ohio — over her claim that Sanders stood against the auto bailout — Devine said, Florida is unlikely to be on the campaign itinerary past Thursday.

Good lord, the Sanders campaign is such a mess.

He's cherry picking fights and letting Clinton run up the score everywhere else. It's a strategy perfectly designed to mislead people about the state of the race, offer his supporters false hope, and drag out the nomination based on the bizarre optics of "state wins" that the generals acclimate everyone towards. It's also a strategy designing to maximize bitterness at the end of the primary.

I expect gun control to be heavily highlighted in IL. Bernie's "let the states decide" stance is going to hurt him there considering where all the guns killing people in Chicago are coming from.
Well, I don't understand the need for her to continue talking about the gun manufacturers thing. I don't even see why it's an issue. She's going to need to distance herself from Rahm though....and NAFTA.

If that is the person, it isn't the owner according to wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalon_International_Breads

And that could be very bad for Jill if that isn't a fake tweet. I would let her go for causing unnecessary (bad) publicity.

Also dumb to turn down free and seemingly innocent advertising as well. Especially since you and the business is being praised. So you're voting for someone else. Okay. Accept the damn compliment and business push. No one is suggesting you endorsed her. If that is indeed her then it shows she'll happily smile in your fact and take your money and then get nasty once you're out of sight.

Hillary doesn't need you white knighting. And those people who have to work for a living have every right not to be part of some cheap photo-op that they didn't agree to.

They're basically Hillary in 08, with Weaver/Devine playing the role of Mark Penn.

I don't think Bernie doesn't want to be President. You can tell by how he started and how he responds to questions in relation to his message. He wants to change the Democratic platform, and if he wins 25% of the delegates, he gets a say in the platform if he chooses.

EDIT: Seems to be that coffee shop isn't Avalon Bakery but instead Astro Coffee, so that could be a more legit issue being tagged wrong.

It looks like that's the person in the image, who isn't one of the founders.

There's a picture of the founders in this article.

That's.. hm...

The Tribune just polled Rahm Emanuel’s approval rating. What do you know: it is 27 percent.

In the latest survey, however, a record-high 66 percent of voters said Emanuel was not in touch with people like themselves. Only 1 in 4 voters said the mayor identifies with them. Three-quarters of black voters, 70 percent of Hispanic voters and 58 percent of white voters said they didn't think Emanuel can relate to them.

Well, shit. I do declare that you've found the attack angle, good sir.

Sure, he'll be hurt with guns, but rahm is fucking poison, and he's tied at the hip with bams and, by extension, hills. If bern manages to turn this into a Rahm referendum, he can win.

Should be interesting.

Devine thinks they can still compete in NY. I know b-dubs and Cerium disagree though.

I want to see what they plan on doing in regard to Rahm Emanuel. From my understanding Clinton began distancing herself from him a long time ago. Also isn't he more connected with President Bill Clinton. Also he himself was mayor and made his decisions by himself. His mess really is his mess and no one else. Neither Bill or Hillary has ever entered the picture and never has the media I think tried to connect them to him and his actions as mayor. I do wonder how people of Chicago feel about that. Do they suddenly blame the Clintons for the BS Rahm Emanuel has done as mayor? That seems like it could be a pointless line of attack.

You know nothing about Sander's motivations.

I see Sanders struggling in Chicago and Cook County in general. Between demographics, Clinton's association with Obama, and the Democratic machine, there's a lot of factors lined up against Sanders. Since Cook County has over 40% of the state's population, it'd be tough to make up for getting crushed there, especially since it will likely be overrepresented in a Democratic primary (in 2008 an outright majority of the Democratic primary vote was in Cook County). Sanders would need to, at the very least, hold Clinton's margin down in Cook County to have any hope of winning Illinois.

Which is why his campaign is going to start aggressively talking about her ties to the very unpopular mayor.

Devine thinks they can still compete in NY. I know b-dubs and Cerium disagree though.

de Blasio is chomping at the bit to campaign for Hillary, literally. He flew himself out to Iowa the weekend before the vote, on his own dime, and did door to door canvasing. Her campaign has basically had to chain him to his desk. If you don't thin he's going to go nuts campaigning for her when NY rolls around you are crazier than the last guy Cuomo ran against. Then there's Cuomo, who has been tight with Clinton for ages. Between the two of them she'll have every kind of democrat in the state covered, save the Marxists. That's not even counting the fact that she was elected to the Senate by the state twice.

Devine is nuts if he thinks they can take it. The city and it's suburbs alone will decide how the state swings, they're like 60% of the state's population.

It's probably his best hope. Certainly Clinton should keep her distance from him as much as possible.

The last time she was asked about it in January, she said this:

When pressed specifically on Emanuel, she said, "Mayor Emanuel has said that he is committed to complete and total reform and I think he should be held to that standard," adding that it's "going to be up to him and up to the people of Chicago" to prove his credibility.

There's also the demographics where NY's democratic base is heavily minority and based in urban areas. It's also a closed primary. It's a similar thing to what will kill Bernie in NJ. These are not states that you can win off of white voters or rural areas.

WaffleTaco

Wants to outlaw technological innovation.
Illinois is weird in the fact that there is the rural southern area of it ruled by the urban epicenter in the north.

Rahm is toxic. Keep him away.

The recent mayoral election took place while I knew I was going to be moving to Chicago but before I actually arrived. I was somewhat relieved not to have to hold my nose while casting a vote for either candidate. And it's only gotten worse.

In the end, Clinton won Detroit by a 73-26 margin, netting 57k votes

Damn... someone mentioned early voting in FL. I hadn't thought about the fact that a lot of Rubio voters in FL are likely early-voters. If he drops out before Super 2sday Part 2 or whatever, those votes won't be going to anyone else. I imagine his supporters wouldn't be too keen on their votes being wasted. Well, even more wasted than they expected.

So tomorrow's Republican Debate is the last chance the "establishment" has to try to derail the Trump Train before it pulls into Ohio and Florida (and the other states of course) for potential victory laps. CNN has never been as aggressive as Fox News so what are we expecting? Same old, same old? Some actually new tricks on display? What does the "establishment" have left that they haven't used before?

Count on the most Trump-hating crowd you've ever heard.

There's gonna be a Rubio kamikaze while Cruz tries to finish the job. Imagine Goku and Piccolo against Raditz, only instead of Raditz it's Freeza fucking with them.

If I'm Trump's advisor, I say this - respond to every single attack, be it on Muslims, Trump steaks, Trump U - WHATEVER - like this:

"I know that Lil Marco and Lyin Ted are really desperate now that I'm coalescing support and clearly up in the polls, but they don't need to stoop to petty attacks like this. I am strong, and I have fired back before, but now is a time for healing. We should unite against Hillary instead of attacking each other. My policy on XYZ is _____________ - .

I won't be watching the debate tonight. My Berniebro flew in early so going to be chilling. Ya'll can let me know how bad it probably goes. : sigh :

Trump doesn't have that in him. He can't help himself.

I do agree this is what he should do though.
