Hot. But yeah I wouldn't even make any claims to criticize his policies in that earlier post, just W as a person was capable of empathy and showing it... not exactly a high bar to set, but in 2017 it sure seems to be.

Trump trying to have his cake while also shitting on the cake then eating it anyway.

Yeah this thing is going forward.
He's gonna paint this stabilization effort as Trumpcare now. There will be a rose garden signing ceremony. Because you know, Obamacare is dead and stuff.

Trump, asked about his shifting comments on Alexander-Murray short-term Obamacare fix plan: "I like people working on plans at all times"
Dumbass is gonna scribble on whatever comes across his desk.

If you take that literally, 11 Republicans + 48 Democrats is one vote shy of being filibuster proof. McConnell would be a fucking idiot not to let this go through, but also McConnell is a fucking idiot so the jury’s still out on that one.

And Shadow Speaker ~~~PELOSI~~~ will ensure that it passes the House, thereby saving millions from higher premiums and financial distress.

The response: "Why does she always compromise with Republicans like some centrist coward? Replace her with Tim Ryan, a noted Blue Dog who has somehow become a ~~~real progressive~~~."

The south isn't actually where they lost most of those governorships in 1966. It was mostly the west and midwest. it was a wave year for Republicans and the south is actually where Democrats held firm, though more so in the house.

Though that's actually much worse because those southern Dems would not be aligned with civil rights.

Nah, they have to let this through because not doing it is actively worse for them in midterms.

"This might hurt us with the public" seems to have only a slight effect on them. Especially Ryan, who ultimately has to decide if he wants to allow the vote. If he does, then Dems plus a few GOP defectors should be able to pass it.

We wanted to pwn the libs so we...dressed up in a diaper?

I rock libs every day by shitting into diapers.
Checkmate libs

Also everyone read that Politico Cochran article yesterday.
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/18/thad-cochran-says-not-retiring-senate-243918
Shit makes my blood boil that they're basically using this dude to cast votes when he's clearly in need of serious assistance now.
It's fucking depressing and infuriating considering his position in the appropriations committee.

On one amendment, Cochran voted ”yes" despite being told by an aide to vote ”no." The staffer tried to get the senator to switch his vote, but Cochran kept flashing the ”thumbs up" sign, even walking over to the clerk tallying the vote and doing so. GOP floor staffers repeatedly told him the leadership wanted a "no" vote. Several more moments passed before Cochran realized he was voting the wrong way and then changed his vote.

Cochran had to be guided by staffers around a security checkpoint inside the Capitol. He started to walk into a first-floor room — though the Senate chamber is on the second floor. He was then ushered by an aide up to the Senate.

The dude is literally at his peak of power in the Senate Appro. Committee. It's wild.

Ryan also won't let it through unless Trump gives the 'okay' right?

Is it a secret most people have no clue how to properly invest in stock or retirement? It's not like many people in the country are even able to invest much, let alone a substantial amount.
There's a Joe Kennedy (I) quote about this that still holds true- http://archive.fortune.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/1996/04/15/211503/index.htm
JOE KENNEDY, a famous rich guy in his day, exited the stock market in timely fashion after a shoeshine boy gave him some stock tips. He figured that when the shoeshine boys have tips, the market is too popular for its own good

Is it too much to ask that the Left hash out our terminology? Liberal, Progressive, Leftist. Everyone has their own definition, and I’m absolutely baffled to see liberal and progressive now being synonymous with “centerist” or occasionally “neo-liberal shill.” Coming of political age during the Bush years, I remember folks abandoning the Liberal label due to its toxicity (thanks Rightwing Media!) in favor of the not yet demonized term Progressive. But now that too has come under fire, mostly from the Purity Left. It makes our already contentious intra-party fighting all the more complicated.

The fundamental issue underlying it is the rural/urban split in the party.

There’s a turf war on, so everybody is trying to use terminology to control territory rather than to communicate.

I made this suggestion elsewhere, and proposed we should change our labels to "Heartless" and "Nobodies"

"Liberal" is used by the (lol) 'Purity Left' to differentiate between the generally pro-capitalism liberal mainstream Democrat type worldview and their own. They prefer to call themselves leftists.

lol absent from the DNC purge discussion is that they were predominantly Ellison supporters. I also doubt it was for competence issues as Donna Brazile just got a new job there.

People are finally using some terms correctly, why should we discourage it

Pretty much what concerned me, but the reporting on who actually was ousted and why just isn't there yet, so I'm trying not to jump to an easy conclusion.

Liberals believe in capitalism, leftists believe in socialism. Both sides consider themselves progressive. On the leftist side there is argument over whether social democrats are leftists or just the furthest left branch of liberal before you get to democratic socialism.

I'm glad that, at least on the left, we are getting closer to using the correct terminology for things.
