Like I always say, everyone has their own value scale. Some would say that the $5 is nothing so it won't be missed, others might say that it would be enough to cover the cost of a pro upgrade if you calculate the cost over the span of a console generation

Calm down, sorry to hurt your feelings fps warrior, I don't mean exactly ps2 I said it because I hate that 60fps narrative, but I also you can find many titles which have performance mode and you can compare it to it fedilty mode and see deference by yourself (many games have lower than 720p native resolution in performance mode)

Then it is a good thing we have modes where everyone can choose what they like. From what I understand PS5 Pro is supposed to take increase frame rate for fidelity modes. If that's the case then those who prefer 30fps should just stick with base PS5.

Native isn't always needed to achieve this, but I agree with wanting better visuals overall. At the same time, I'm spoiled with PC, so I'm not exactly looking for the mid-gen console to provide the only chance of this.
I say we give the Pro a chance to come out first.

I Really like pro and I think it's powerful but I don't want developers to take it in wrong direction standard 60fps is unreasonable games, still needs to have 30fps fidelity mode in pro

Pretty sure the "exclusive" footage was just the high bitrate version of the presentation, as they appear to have access to fuck all that everyone hasn't seen already.

They did not go over it. What a fucked up lol. john was having a fist fight with people on twitter regarding to image quality and how he think it night and day difference, and he can prove those people was in denial but omit to not have it in the video.
I guess they gona milk this 7 minute with another video next week. I think there are some more games in there with a few scenes in that 7 minutes long footage.

Forget about native 4K. Even PS4 game (TLoU2) runs in 1440p in 60fps mode.

It exactly what it was. And sony thought it was a good idea to send this over to DF instead of waiting a bit more than a month to get the hardware into DF and the medias hands.
This whole thing is a PR disaster. Now we don't have footage comparing to the base ps5 and just pixel counting and speculation from a few scenes for most games in that 7 minutes long footage.
The lackluster presentation, the price shocked, and now this. Yikes, who is in charge of sony PR?

It's just such a sad situation that we aren't even getting a 2x jump, but are paying nearly double for it. The state of today's chip manufacturing is so depressing compared to what we used to experience.
While the Xbox One was obviously underpowered relatively at launch, the fact that we had a jump of nearly 5x times the power from the One to the One X in just 4 years after launch feels like a dream in comparison to what we have to accept today.

There's really nothing to worry about, this is just the initial batch of games which are patched to improve current settings for launch.
You will see bigger improvements with future software which is developed in tandem with PS5 Pro.

I think it takes 2 gens for passive upgrades to be that big. 360 games are passively 60fps on Series X.

I dont really get this upgrade, it seems to offer very little compared to the Pro consoles of last gen. Then again i feel even the Xbox5/PS6 are only really going to offer current gen games but at higher rez, maybe 60fps, and better RT.

We don’t even know what the upper VRR range of this mode is, just that it’s targeting 60fps minimum with better than native 4K+TAA image quality.
Why would you want TLoU2 running native 4K on PS5 Pro if 1440p+PSSR reproduces (even improves on) the detail of PS5’s native 2160p mode.
