This is closer to the game 'coming to the player' feel that I think GTA has always begged for but never gotten. Everything in GTA has always been treated as islands of content to go to and seek out, but as the size of the games got larger, the distance between interesting things happening with the AI and systems also received larger and larger holes of nothingness to cross over. This game brings the world to you with little effort while still maintaining geographically-bound content. The wanted system and the general feel of a world that doesn't just abide crazy player action makes everything better and more valuable on a moment to moment basis compared to any other sandbox action game. Being bad takes more work and skill and is more satisfying because of it and the same holds true for being good...maybe it's even more challenging and satisfying. The temptation to go either way is better-realized in this game than it's ever been in a GTA, that's for certain. Fan-fucking-tastic game. Kudos, Rockstar (San Diego).

The game wouldn't connect to Rockstars servers for me. I have the War Horse and it told me to try again later. :|

The basic idea to free roam is to join and shoot everyone you see ignoring the fact that it's ZERO fun and that actually working together and doing something cool would be REALLY fun.

dude... i've had this idea for a bear simulator game in my head for a long while. lol.

you roam the forest looking for whatever bears look for (other bears to challenge, mate with etc), stealthily avoiding hunters... if you get shot at you have to hide (like climb a tree), waiting for a stealth kill opportunity... if you want to regain health you either have to to look for tons of berries or other animals to kill, or maybe sneak into a human settlement to steal food from dumpsters etc... also escort missions where you have to lead your cubs to drinking water and back safely.. and so on.

the game ends as winter approaches and you go into hibernation after a long hard struggle. (i want it to be a hard game).

okay, it would probably be a pretty shit game... :D but goddamn yeah, RDR has to get a "be any animal" cheat! or at least be the bear. would be so fun. i mean they have the character models and animations all done already.. just map the controls to each of them, even if it's shitty it would be fun :D

I didn't expect to be into free roam as much as I am. Gun fights are exciting and I love exploring with friends. Needs two things though: 32 players instead of 16 and dedicated clans/posses that can be created.

Nope. There are 2 scraps in Thieves Landing. One you can buy in the Tailor Shop, and another you can find somewhere in the area.

The purple search area doesn't help at all :lol

WHAT?! that's impossible. out of all games, Red Dead has custom soundtracks?

i need to know this too. if you can actually play songs off your HDD while free roaming... i think i wont need any other game this summer. (i LOVE the feature, but pretty much no game supports it....)
