Red Dead Redemption |OT| Whistling Morricone in the desert

Why in the world are my friends and I experiencing invisible characters/mounts? It's freaking annoying seems every time we leave a city in free roam we disappear/ just can't see the character models...sometimes it's the mount, sometimes my character...sometimes both. How could I have not heard complaints about this online? Are we the only ones experiencing this?
Walked with the dog at night and saw a horse thief. Even before the message popped up I knew what to do. Cuz there is no surer law in the Wild West and no crime more heinous than torture porn child rape than horse theft

It's weird
The horse doesn't just spawn nearby when you whistle
He seems to actively come from wherever he was.
This leads to weird things where I sometimes call him in Armadillo and I can't find him because he is desperately trying to run through a wall.

Makes every NPC feel more like an actual, tangible character, rather than some cool physics object that you can make flip in all kinds of ways with your car. I did that, there were 2 guys so I killed both but for some reason I got -100 honor. Hated GTA4 except for that bank robbery mission, but RDR is absolutely amazing.
I was a bit harsh on the game technically when I first started it up (aliasing and framerate issues drive me crazy), but the game is so damn fun and engaging that I actually found myself overlooking the issues fairly quick.
Only about 2-3 hours in, but so many things are well done within the universe.

I gotta say I was pretty disappointed with the melee. The silver lining is that you can punch a horse.
Awesome moment for me was watching my inept brother getting owned by a pack of coyotes cause he cant aim for spit, then he just jumped off his horse and sliced up the whole pack with his knife.

I can't seem to keep my rides alive for very long. I'm on horsey replacement #14 right now. It's a pretty interesting situation to lose your upgraded stamina horse and then whistle for a replacement only for it to show up just as you've just finished skinning his predecessor. I cry a little about my lost rides, but then it's just more horse meat for the pile. I need better quality horses or something. The last one I accidentally shot dead as he rode into the gunfight when I also accidentally whistled for him while I was in cover.ShockingAlberto said:

anyone know if its possible to lasso wild animals and take them somewhere? reeaaally want to unleash a bear in a saloon. i bet it cant be done, that would be too good to be true.

Holy crap.
Very engrossing world. I've completed about 5 story/main missions and just blew through over 10 or so side missions without realizing it (not counting random encounters). The challenges are a nice diversion too...

Quick question, are random incounters like sub missions? And do these ever run out? FOr instance if i complete the story and sidemissions can still have random encounrters with folk that will at least keep the SP game fresh? Thats what i disliked about GTA4, once done all the side missions and story nothing left to keep you in the game so i got bored quickly.

I ask this because I loved the assassination missions in GTAIV but I HATED that there were only something like 20 of them, and then it would be just over.. Those missions were so much fun..

Whats the best way to bring in a Wanted Man without killing them? I tried hand to hand combat but they just shoot me to death.:lol
