decided to stream the RDR soundtrack music to my xbox while playing.... coinciding with an escort hogtie prisoner event, Triggernometry started to play. It was a pretty long journey to Chupparosa and WOW what a friggin ride! :lol

music ended just as I handed him over and walked inside. silly little sandbox moment but running full speed while killing bandits chasing my ass to Triggernometry was like sex.

SPOILERS IN THIS VIDEO. Beat the game before watching.

I like this. I still haven't gotten all of the outfits but can anyone tell me if the outfit at 1:53 of the video is one of the unlockables? I love that hat. :D

If YouTube comments were abolished entirely, would anyone miss them? Christ. Awesome video anyway. Don't know about that outfit at 1:53 though. Doesn't look like anything you could unlock.

It's the savvy merchant, which was one of three potential costumes for the gamestop preorder.

Ugh. Seriously? NOoOooOoooooo.

Will R* make all the pre-order stuff available to everyone down the road? I hope so.

Just finished the game about 3-4 hours ago, this was actually the first Rockstar game I've ever completed, so I guess that says something. That said though, the game still feels clumsy at times control wise, and the missions can get a bit repetitive, but overall it was a solid experience, the ending was pretty awesome. :)

Finally beat it last night, ending was dumb...
and so was the last stranger mission after the game was over, not very impressed by that at all, but overall it was a good fun experience

Tried MP last night, First few it was pretty meh. After I switched to a second one and joined up with a few other players it was tons of fun. Only tried Free Roam so far, Going to try some other game types.

I walked into a shop to sell some stuff and the guy at the counter greeted me with "Can I take you out for a drink sometime?" "Can I call you Sally?" :lol

Just got done watching the credits roll. Hands down my GOTY so far. This is coming from someone who never liked the GTA series. I know Rockstar support has visited this thread. From a tired, old, jaded gamer thank you for the last 50 hours I spent with this game.

You guys sure weren't kidding about the music when you start in Mexico. Loved it.

And boy do I suck 90% of the time in multiplayer :(. Although the capture the bag game has been pretty good for me :)

Kinda sucks how everyone kills everyone in Free Roam, I just wanna mingle with some strangers.

Yup RDR MP is only fun with a decent amount of people. At least free roam and competitive modes.

Has anyone every encountered a camp in the wilderness that they're not allowed to approach ? I was playing today, and some guy with a dog at a camp site said to me, "Don't come any closer !', so I rode closer and he shot me instantly.

Agreed, and the ease of spawncamping gets real annoying, too.

I know Xbox Live has more than its share of antisocial douchebags but it would be cool to do some pickup co-op missions. I've had a couple guys play through a mission or two with me, but everyone else seems to be obsessed with killing anything that moves.

My funny random event for the day was I was traveling off the path and I see a saddled horse just standing still so I investigate and there is this fat Mexican porker standing over a dead guy then he bends down to him and I thought he was looting him but getting closer you realize the guy is eating him, yes eating him. You see his head go down and like a pig at a trough his head just shaking as he gobbles him up. Then he comes up and then he takes his hands and grabs flesh and brings it to his mouth. Then he gets on his horse and starts to go away but I said thats a sick fuc and shot him. I did not lose any honor and when I looted him I recieved $32, way more than you usually get for a loot.

just went to Mexico ..some thoughts

- freaking awesome so far , R* San Digo learned from R8 North's mistakes.

- JM is very cool character , and unlike Niko , Klebitz and Luis he is no douchebag or piece of shit character , and he is still damn badass and very interesting , and actually makes you care about him.

- yeah, Dead Eye Lvl 3 is very good ( since it don't auto target everything on screen) , but the problem is with the RB , since I remove/move my finger from the RT now to mark poor bastards ,I wish the "place the marks " was on one of the face buttons .

- I wish the "strangers " side quest were more Fallout-ish style than GTA4 ( you know not just meet them but do some crazy things ) only one that had "fallout" feel was the Flower for the lady quest.

- shooting is very fun , cover system works well , in GTA4+episode the shooting was like a broken garbage barrel full of shit , here it's "fun".

- regenerating health/dead eye are very good , checkpoint system is sweet , fast travel is nice idea but should be more easier ( put the option on the map screen instead ) and they should let us skip the skinning and looting animations.
Agree with all of this, but especially the praise for R*SD. Definitely prefer them to North, after this and MC:LA being awesome, and GTAIV... not so much.

He needed to be put down, like a rabid dog.

Nice.

i think im near the end of mexico and loving the game so far. the game does borrow some elements from call of juarez (another excellent game, both of them), but this is by far the best western game ever. probably the best sandbox game too, but then again i'm biased because i love the setting. this is the game that Gun should have been (although gun was OK).

i hope it sells well enough to get another!

my only experience in free roam went like this:
WTF I have this shitty donkey that moves like a snail. Oh hey look I guy maybe he'll want to hunt something with me. Guy pulls out gun and kills me in 3 secs. I spawn "hey look a fort, cool" get close try to use my shit pistol and get destroyed. Spawn behind a box, walk out from that box and die instantly. Spawn in the same spot, look at my weapons again "fuck I only have a pistol." Try to use pistol, die as soon as I leave cover. Spawn same spot, try to make a run for it, die after 5 steps. Spawn same spot, leaves and go back to single player. Most fun I've had in awhile.

Alright I just finished the "An Appointed Time" mission in Mexico.

Question -
is there a way to NOT kill Williamson immediately and drag on the mission ala the Escuella encounter? I tried to shoot the president guy thinking that maybe I could capture williamson and talk to him but Reyes just shoots Williamson after the guy goes for a gun to shoot me. So not only is there no talking to him but I didnt even get the satisfaction of killing him myself :(.

Plenty more satisfaction to come. I liked the way that mission ended, personally.
2 dogs put down, and then race off to Blackwater

So do the challenges count twards 100%? im right around 92% or something, 1 ambient challenge done, 2 at level 9, and 1 at 6 or 7, finished the games, and rolled the credits, I think I might be missing a hideout somewhere, but ive finished all the strangers. Thats everything that counts twards that 100% right?

You gotta buy all the rare weapons in the game too. I think there are 5 or 6. The RDR wiki has a 100% checklist.

I believe the 2 pre-order suits that didn't make it aren't even in the game. There was a master hunter one too that looked like you had road kill tacked all over you.

I still miss Irish though, I hope I see him again :(

Regarding Irish' potential fate:

After beating the game I got a newspaper which mentioned an "Irish Man" accidentally killed himself. Now, it could be another random Irish guy, but I doubt it.

ranching, John Marston's family life at his farm

I imagine that they'll probably include those other two outfits as part of the upcoming DLC packs. Here's an image of the other two outfits plus the winning choice:

for god sake's no. that was boring and redundant. i want to play a western action game, not cowboy simulator. might as well have a minigame for making chili.

like 3 hours into this game on 360 and I'm really digging it.. only thing is the draw distance kinda sucks imo, specially when it rains. Still this game is ridiculously fun to me.

360 or PS3? I'm constantly surprised at how far the draw distance is and how little pop in there is on the 360 version.

Come on man... it's pretty cool. Chilling out with your son, going to the woods to hunt Elk and shit. Spending time with the wifey, going to see Bonnie. It's awesome. It was a nice change of pace.

I wonder if it's the same random event I have seen. I thought the guy was eating him too and then after a closer look the guy had actually bent down and bit the guys finger off. He did it to get his ring. He then spit the finger out. You can't see the finger throughout this but the animations all match and you hear him spit. It was freakin awesome.

I just finally disarmed 6 guys without reloading or switching weapons for the Level 10 Sniper, got the achievement and a pop up screen, then the 7th guy shot me and the game reloads the checkpoint. :(

Now I got the problem that Marston always reloads his gun automatically. Can I switch that off?
