i experienced a rather fucked up glitch... when i reached 100% completion, i suddenly lost most of my outfits on another pre-post-game save, that i would have liked to use rather than the post-game save (you know why if you've finished the game).
Agreed. I think I will boot up Red Dead purely for the automatic achievement unlocked message though. (There's a new achievement for prestige-ing, and I've already done that.)
To whoever suggested I play Bayonetta: bravo good sir. The only reason I hesitated to play this game is because I thought it was an easier version of Devil May Cry. The game play might be similar but I had no idea the game had overtones like in Viewtiful Joe and Godhand. In cutscenes there are exaggerated dance movements, funny poses, cute japanese dance music, etc... it's pretty funny. And I didn't know the game was this sexy. :lol
$15.95 on the Aus PSN store. Fucking joke, Flower is only $12.95 for a whole game, and R* want 16 bucks for some player skins and a weapon? Ridiculous.

Yea. I don't know if R* thinks consumers are stupid or something.
The only DLC I plan to get is the Undead Nightmare one. I'm more single player than Multiplayer. I was the same with GTA IV for the first year. Nothing for us that appreciate the storyline more. Disappointing.

I love this game, 28 hours in so far, just got to the last area, done a couple of Bounty missions and strangers there but not started the story missions there yet.
Are there any really frustrating missions left? The only ones I struggled at all with so far were races early on and
Encountered a horrible, horrible bug a couple of days back. Robbed a bank, and shot a bunch of lawmen until they gunned me down. However, instead of respawning, it shows in me in jail. When I get out, the 15,338 dollars I earned are gone. Really fucking aggravating.
Also, another bug today, which is more weird than anything. I take a bounty mission in Blackwater, which tells me the target is at Tanner's Reach. I ride to Tanner's Reach, only for the red skull denoting the bounty to disappear as soon as I get there. Very strange. Anyone else encountered these ?
One time I was riding my American Standarbred so fast in Tall Trees that the snow/ground textures took a few seconds to load. I was traveling through bare flat-shaded polygons. :lol
Finally completed the main story (not 100%)! It was real nice, I liked the unexpectedness at the end.
Switching to Jack so you can get revenge was nice. At first I thought they were going to do what they were doing throughout the game where they make you do little missions to prolong the inevitable, but it was nice that they let you take revenge and then just walk away like a bad ass. Other than the side missions that I missed, I'm done, right?

I don't think many people even give a shit about the competitive modes. Free roam is where I spend all my time when I'm playing Red Dead online. Still can't fathom how they managed to release a 10-dollar DLC pack focusing exclusively on the crappy competitive multiplayer. I want new gang hideous, new stuff to do in free roam, journal challenges, poker, liar's dice, etc... I'm buying the next DLC pack on day one, but this one I'm not even gonna touch.
Of course, I'm an achievement whore, so eventually I am going to buy the pack. :lol But seeing as how there are three more DLC packs coming that will each have new achievements, there's no point in dropping $10 just to keep Red Dead in my completed games list for what, another month at best?

I got the second level of the dead eye but I keep accidentally rolling the aim over civilians while trying to aim at wolves and what not, is there no way to cancel it???
I think the pack would definitely be worth 5 bucks but ten bucks is stretching it, I am still tempted by it but Im not gonna be jumping on it right away but hopefully next dlc will be out soon.

For people that playing online regularly: how popular is the DLC if you can tell at all (I don't have gold atm)? I hope it bombed, no offense. Maybe Rockstar will drop it to 5 bucks eventually (fat chance eh) unless the sheep are gobbling it up.

I'm almost at the same place. I still enjoy the mechanics enough to want to keep searching for the last 1.1% I need for 100.
However, the reason I want to stop playing is probably because of how much I enjoyed the main story. The final act was quite memorable. Playing the game after the conclusion of the main story is a constant reminder of what happens. It carries more weight than most games I've played.
I would enjoy seeing GTA revert back to more absurdity and Rockstar can explore their 'mature' storytelling with RDR successors. I wonder where Agent is going to fall.
Wow, I really regret being late to the MP party. I 100 percented the SP game awhile ago and didn't touch multiplayer because I thought the competitive game types didn't look that appealing. I didn't realize free roam had a bunch of challenges and stuff to do besides FFA and capture the gold. I'm hooked again now. Of course, it sucks getting shot in the head while you are trying to pick flowers for the survivalist challenges, but oh well.:lol

So after beating the game, I decided to just mess around and activate some cheats. I quickly learned that spawning a giant stage coach inside a bar or a store could lead to hilarious results...
My question is, is there a cheat to
revert back to John? Something about Jack's voice really puts me off.

Red Dead Redemption is probably my favourite game so far this year (even over Super Mario Galaxy 2), and I have absolutely zero interest in the DLC, because I think the multiplayer in RDR is pretty damn poor.
I was planning on buying the DLC pack that's going to make Poker and Liar's Dice playable online, but I'm not going to now, simply because I fail to see why I should pay for something that should have been in the game from the start. Especially when they're trying to charge so much for it, and I don't even give a shit about anything else in that DLC pack.
If Rockstar make single-player DLC along the same lines as Lost & Damned/Gay Tony, then I'll be there day one, but they can fuck off with their overpriced multiplayer characters and maps.
Is there a "wrong way" to do missions? Because that Stranger mission American Appetites...I found the cannibal guy, he was going to kill and eat the guy I had tied up, so I killed the cannibal and let the tied up guy go, and there's no end to to the story. He just runs off, no achievement or anything. Did I finish the stranger mission or did I bring myself to a dead end by not bringing the cannibal end.
If for some reasons you fail or don't complete a stranger mission you should be able to redo it in a day or two. The purple icon will reappear to allow you to start it again. You can also check the status in your journal.
Just finished this..and haven't read any reviews or impressions. What can i say..i liked the game a lot, but the last 6 or 7 missions were super tedious. Really should have been edited out. I really think they should have been available right after leaving mexico..it would have given the final area more variety. Doing them in a row was too much. I liked the ending though.
I feel this game was better (much) then GTA4. Let's hope part 5 lives up to this.
Okay, I have gone back to RDR for another playthrough, and it is still an awesome game, and probably still my favourite this gen, but (isn't there always a but?) R* made some damn irritating choices, which if different, could have made the experience so much more enjoyable.
3 save slots? Really? Why? It makes no sense. They have effectively unlimited saves space available, why not use it, so people can have some saves at different points, especially since you cannot go back from a few points that change the game quite a bit.
Controls. Really, so much rubbish here. X to run, hitting doors, all that crap. But other aspects of the controls are crap too. If you draw your gun, it's probably for a reason, don't make him put it away just before I go to shoot someone. And why stop reloading when you leave or enter cover, it makes no sense. Water = instadeath? Who decided that? It's a terrible mechanic, which has a purpose that I'll also address.
Closed off map. It can make sense, but when the barriers are so ridiculous as in RDR, and the only reason seems to be preventing you exploring or getting equipment, it is unneeded frustration. Not to mention there are massive parts of all three areas that are barely used, so it cannot be justified on the basis of making sure a players experiences all of an area.
The non English VA. Terrible, cliched, puerile, crap. Irish especially, terrible.
There are plenty of other things as well. Why give the ability to replay missions when you are forced to do it with crappy weapons. If you are going to do it, allow the replay with the new weapons and items gained, there is no point otherwise, except getting a gold medal that doesn't do anything. Fast travel and save should be available from the menu. If they don't want to do this, in order to make players travel manually more, and add tension that's fine. They should in that case make camps available everywhere, so frustrating when you just want to save but it keeps saying you can't camp there. Also, why have the 'key' songs cut off if you do anything other than ride your horse? Heaps of people missed them because they did what they had been doing all game - looting the bodies. And why have the skinning animations be unskippable. I know it is a little thing, but it gets a bit old after the 20th time. The animal behaviour is a crap as well. I know they probably did it to enhance the danger in the wilderness, but packs of bears attacking you only? Wolves ignoring the deer and raccoons to attack a bloody horse?
Story spoilers ahead:
Jack. Why is he a whiny bitch? Make him either a nice guy, sine John tried, or have him be a nasty sun of a bitch, surely his voice would have broken, at least.
Okay, I am just nitpicking now, I think it is a measure of how good the game is when I have this huge list of flaws and I still rate it so highly. And it is hugely impressive, this game. The graphics, most of the VA, the animations, the sound design, the way I bought into the characters, all massively impressive.
Anyway, rant over.
