Well I pretty much knew this was going to happen and YES this is a meltdown even though I saw it coming. Mazinger is rarely if ever wrong and he is saying it looks VERY subHD. Good god I cannot wait until HD actually means full on 1080p for every game so this never has to happen again.

I held out hope with R's post about what they have learned on the PS3.

Dude, don't even worry about the reviews. This will be 90 to 94 on Meta and the inevitable analysis on Eurogamer will give Ritchie boy his cum to swallow as he shites himself over the 360 version and 'politely' notes how this engine just doesn't work for the PS3. END OF STORY.

As I said before, I am happy for 360 owners (mine broke and I refuse to buy another) but this IS NOT ABOUT THAT. These guys are basically all we have for OPEN WORLD story based games and as such they have obviously shown they have no clue what they are doing. All THEY are doing mark my words is taking 360 code and porting. There is no ground up ARE YOU KIDDING. What Naughty Dog could do with something like this would be startling. We will never see that, though, will we. Happy 360 day. If you own a PS3 why support this? They clearly have enough manpower to develop all this on the PS3 without a port and then go to the 360 as each version is basically the same with benefits for the SPU's and Bluray and maybe some transparencies or whatever on the 360. Doesn't make sense to me. Their PS3 team is OBVIOUSLY just a porting team and there is only so much you can do with this engine.

They cannot even get their precious RAGE to run correctly on a PC which runs Crysis at 30fps maxed. GTA$ ain't no Crysis.

And, REALLY dude, I don't think you know anything about engines. RAGE does nothing special but render an Open World. I fully Expect Infamous 2 to be even stronger than what we got going here if they get their texture streaming right. RAGE cannot do water as well as other engines, is not maxed for streaming, has fairly terrible texture res from a distance and up close, doesn't do facial animation very well, etc. I guess you can put Euphoria in that boat, too. Do I have to mention dithering. There are all kinds of problems with RAGE. The real PROBLEM is that it is the only engine and it was built for one console which has a ton of drawbacks.

Seriously, you guys have gone off the the deep end with how great this game looks, frothing like you are 10 years old. Does it look great (on the 360 and of course gimped from full on nirvana like always) sure it does. Is it so much better than anything else (on the PS3) not so much. I am sure it is a pretty damn good game but when it's subHD with no AA on the beast that is the PS3 NO ******* THANKS. I'll wait for the fall and christmas and the 1st party to blow me away. God I love the Old West and GOD I hate Microsoft.

360 engines have ruined this Gen for multiplats. I can only hope for a PC version and some money to buy a PC in the next year or so (here I come M$). No way I'm playing a 540p game or even 640p of this caliber without AA on my 42" local dimmer. It will undoubtably look like crap. I can barely stand Ratchet and Clank and that is like 640p or something, and the cartoon visuals save it as does 60fps. Whatever. Rockstar is a big big BIG grisly senile boner imo and they are using an engine that is outdated and almost not compatible with the Cell's prowess.

It was a guess. I don't know what benefits they would get from computing shadows on the 360 using the CPU. Also, the PS3 CPU is actually decent at graphic computations from what I've read. The GTA4 shadows being computed in the CPU is true though. The shadows look like ass in low settings. I was pretty dissappointed with the game overall.

It's none other than the truth man. KZ2 has done some amazing things and they had only a couple years, it was their first game on the PS3! and it still is crazily awesome certainly not because of the modified 7800!

I for one am sick of this shite and I am sick of handing over 60 bucks for this shite. I won't. Sorry to ruin your day PS3 fans but wake up! Bioshock, Ghostbusters, GTA4, Red DEAD, the list will go on and on and the sick ******* thing is that it doesn't have to with another million or two or some good friends at Santa Monica to optimize the engine for the PS3. We ALL know it can spit out better than this. I wanted this so bad. I am an old west freak. I have damn near seen every film ever made. I read the history on the Civil War to the industrial age, etc. I love this kind of stuff. But I will not just let it go. At least for ten more minutes.

Just finished watching Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, sooooo hyped right now. Loved the first half where they were getting tracked by La Fours. Also it only clicked with me right at the end of the film that Mallrats paid homage to it, straw hat and all :lol

Dude...it's not ugly, it's literally minor differences that only the anal overreact to. HD development costs made 3rd parties go multiplatform, not MS. Some MGS games are 360 exclusive because MS wants something to move hardware. The GTA content is no longer exclusive so seriously stop bitching about it.
