I'm really hoping this succeeds. I don't want to see WB out of the comic movie game. I'm much more interested in their more creator driven approach, even though it will inevitably lead to a more uneven series of movies.

Probably gonna watch it saturday or sunday, opening weekend in imax (depending on if it's 2d or not). It'd be such a shame if the real imax screen is showing the 3d version.

The hype for this seems kinda off especially considering it's the very first batman meets superman flick.

I'm guessing slightly over 100 mill.

I think it's an internet thing
By most metrics, this is probably the 2nd most anticipated film of the year behind Rogue One.

And EVERYTHING around this movie generates conversation (good or bad), the article in the OP even notes that social engagement spiked this week with talks of the r-Rated version

I dont think there were any doubts this movie is gonna make bank. My concern now is the quality of the movie. Please be decent.

part of me is seeing if they fuck this movie up real bad

part of me is seeing it because its about damn time they try a justice league universe and get batman x superman in the same movie

either way, they got my $12 opening night

It's a Snyder movie stuck in The Dark Knight mindset. Even if this movie gets perfect reviews (which would be a fluke based on Zack's track record), it's guaranteed to not be a "fun" Batman and Superman movie.

Batman and Superman are best when it's colorful optimistic All-Star boy scout vs. gruff super-serious Miller antihero. We need a movie from both of their perspectives, deconstructing them a bit from each side but still making us appreciate the other's traits in contrast.

This just looks like bweghhh superheroes fighting in the rain bweghhhh bwaaaaa Superman shouldn't be a god if only Robot Batman will make him bleed then maybe he won't kill again oh but wait you're saying they're fighting for literally no reason and there's a larger Eisenbergian evil wearing a wig they should Team-Up™ for and there's an even bigger Team-Up™ movie coming in 2 years so are you excited yet BWAAAA BWEGGHHHHH BWARRRRRR SO YOU THINK YOU CAN LOVE ME AND LEAVE ME TO DIIIIIIEEEEEE

The marketing budget on this movie is insane no way it doesn't have a big opening weekend. There's an ad for it everywhere you look. It's legs with depend on its quality but opening weekend will be big no doubt

MoS did ~$120M on OW, and TDKR did ~$160M, I'm guessing it'll do somewhere in the $150M-$175M range.

It'll clear 150 opening weekend easy. That's gotta be the floor for this thing.

175-200 is probably what WB would prefer. Closer to 200, obviously.

It'll be a huge financial success, critical flop, and basically a limp start to the DC Cinematic Universe. The DCCU will really kick off with Suicide Squad

A Zack Snyder Justice League movie will be the most hype superhero movie with the most hype visuals and action so ya'll need to go see this movie and make it get 200m opening.

Exactly the response I was anticipating and hoping for.

Wrong! Actually person superman vs hyperintelligent batman is the best.

I don't really pay attention to opening weekend numbers so I don't have any numbers, but I'm expecting higher than TDKR & all of the marvel solo films, but not avengers or aou. I think MoS makes some people reluctant, but if this gets good word of mouth and reviews, it will get the fence sitters to go, giving it long legs.

That being said, the tickets aren't even on sale yet so I find it surprising they can pull out tracking numbers.

I'd say it'll probably do good enough in the box office, though one wonders if it'll be "good enough to start a whole cinematic universe". Probably as critically divisive as Man of Steel.

Still don't know if Snyder was a good call.

I SO want this to do great at the B.O. We need more DC movies. Maybe we'll get Animal Man, Swamp Thing and more too in future?!

I recall reading WB was internally projecting the OW to be somewhere between Age of Ultron and Avengers 1. IMO, this thing could be a Catwoman quality film and still open over $150M.

Man of Steel did really well on home video. It's not a movie that was disliked by most despite what people here seem to think.

Swamp Thing was rumored to be part of the Justice League Dark movie. Animal Man is a stretch. I don't even know how you would sell that, the two runs I've read wouldn't work well in a blockbuster movie.
