[RUMOR] PlayStation Reportedly Set To Launch PC Ports 6 Months After Release Moving Forward

You don't need a fucking high end PC to switch over. Like wtf to say no one will switch over because they haven't already is just mot true.

I just talked to a friend the other day who said they will drop Playstation and go to PC because sqaure said ff is fully multiplatform going forward and he isnt a forum fanboy or anything.

It will have an affect its remains to be seen in what way.

I never said you need it.

Seeing PlayStation act retarded and suffer the consequences. it's a win-win for chorizo, because the green army is like, "See? Phil was right, this was always the right strategy."

Sony backtracking or spiraling their games into irrelevance will make me chuckle either way.

Sony backtracking, that's a bookmark prediction for a good laugh in 10 years

Same peoples said the same when they started to release games on PC, now Sony approaches $B yearly revenue on PC with barely any efforts. There's no going back.

At the store or on the PS5 store. You might as well buy it at the store while you get your PS5 to play Demon's Souls

Already played 200 hours and platinumed it. Now I want to do the same on Steam. Plus mod support would most likely be awesome for this game 💪

6 months would be nothing and console sales would surely take a big hit.
A big hit? Where is this idea coming from?

You're not going to even see it in their numbers.

For real. Console-only gamers aren't jumping to PC over one or two games per year coming 6 months faster to PC. It's an absurd idea.

And PC is a different market. Forget about the crappy $500 budget build or laptop running at 1080p on console settings or lower. You're not going to have one of those. I paid more for just a motherboard. As an enthusiast you're looking at 3-5x as much in total before you're done, possibly more. You're not going to do that just because you can repurchase and start over all your PS games halv a year faster than before to play on PC.

And no, PC-only gamers aren't buying a console over one or two console exclusives per year either.

Still not buying a PC. Anyone who owns a PlayStation primarily for day 1 access to Sony's ever dwindling set of exclusives is likely already ready to shelve it.

As long as pretty much everything gets ported to and optimized for PS, sign me up for PS6.

I don't know, the port's development time isn't something that can be determined. Some studios would have to expand their staff to work on more platforms at once, and I don't think Nixxes Studio can handle that much.

Well, I don't believe the rumor. Ports will happen depending on the studio's capabilities, resources, and logistics: day one, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, as far as possible.

I'm surprised they haven't sent Demons' Souls to PC yet.

Is that the only year-old+ first-party Sony PS5 game that hasn't hit PC?

good, more games for everyone, only retards think exclusivity is a good thing, also we need cross saves ASAP, would be awesome to buy games on PC and console and just share the saves, i would double dip almost every game.

Fucking clowns at Sony don't realize they are devaluing the PlayStation brand. At least Nintendo knows better than to never release their games on the personal computer.

I don't think PS has the bandwidth to even accomplish that if they wanted to. So I don't believe it, especially for all titles. But if it ever does, I'll be on PC/Steam Deck only.

PlayStation full-year operating income jumps 43% to $2.8bn

Sony sold 303.3 million games during the fiscal year, an increase of 6%

Nintentards are something special, they like being the apple of video games, what a bunch of morons, also, you can play 99% of Nintendo catalog on personal computer, just saying.

The only 2 games that probably would have success on PC, Sony is so stupid.
stupid for what ? wanting more money ??

Console players wont stop buying consoles cause PC are U$2000 and consoles are just U$ 500, so Sony is pretty much safe and by releasing the games on PC they can make extra buck without almost any effort, its a win-win situation and the only ppl that are losing are retards that thinks the consoles are some kind of luxury entertainment system tailored for just a few ppl.

I'm starting this mindset is specifically for a certain group of people. People like this seem to think selling the soul of their company for a few extra bucks is worth it and people wonder why sosny Western nations are falling apart lol.

its a company, its has no soul, the only reason it exists its to be profitable and make money, stop romanticizing multi billion dollar companies as i they knew or care about your existence.

Save syncing would be great but I don't think it'll happen until they have their own launcher. Xbox games don't sync to Steam either.

PlayStation PC Launcher™

PlayStation Plus library
Exclusive content
Screens synced
Saves synced
Friendslist
Trophies
Day 1

Easy fix.
Make a PlayStation PC store and launcher.
Do day 1 there, exclusive content, PS account login, save sync and trophies from PS, PS+ library, friends list, everything.
Keep the delays on Steam, or increase them.

1. Keep some exclusivity power for the brand.
2. More money from no 30% cut to Valve.
3. More money from extra day 1 sales/hype.
4. Use Steam for mass reach, later.
5. No problem if Xbox have Steam access.
Agreed but the only problem is that most pc gamers balk at the idea of using any store front other than Steam. You might as well label 90% of gaming PCs as Steam machines because that is all they will be used for (game wise).

You say that but it's very short term way of thinking.

Sony makes most of it's money not from selling their first party games. They make most of their money from 3rd party games via their store front/ physical sales.
Exclusives add value to the Playstation brand and add incentive to buy into the eco system.

Sony making their first party games and investing into 3rd party exclusives isn't about making a huge profit on those specific games. It's about driving hardware sales (as it's the only way to access the store front today).
Most people in the ecosystem, the more sales you get through Sony. Sony is taking it's 30%.

You devalue your ecosystem enough and people leave. No reason to stay when there are Steam machines out there or close to being out that can take it's place that have more games, better running, and cheaper.
Now Sony isn't getting the large steady revenue from it's store front anymore. Now it doesn't have as big of incentive to invest in the games you love and they become the same standard large AAA publisher which everyone complains about.

Look at MS. It's already happening. Games are getting canceled. Studios are being closed. The only reason they even have stuff still coming out is because of how many studios they acquired. The only thing driving them forward was past momentum. At least they have already taken the step to bring their eco system to PC. It's just no one is using it. Instead they would rather buy MS games through Steam.

It's funny how back in the Vista days, console games moved away from PC, especially games like the Halo and Gears series, and now it's been a complete U-turn.

If true, bye bye Sony.

gif.
Wow if you think megalomane corp. will fall because it will be able to earn more money, you're good my friend.

But what I find pitiable and laughable at the same time, is people actually feeling defeated and angry because of all this. Out of their minds if they think they lose anything of value except delusional brand identification.

Nobody is spending $3k in hopes one game comes to PC. This is retarded.
The typical strawman of the ignorant, forgive them please. When a few hundred dollars at most determine their "righteousness" and "superiority", it's a thing to behold.

Time to change that then, monopoly is bad. And I mean people can balk all they want, they're free to wait as usual if they're against other launchers. 😏

But Steam doesn't have complete monopoly yet, Google says about 75% marketshare, +/- 5% depending on geography. I assume Fortnite and Minecraft are the biggest games outside Steam, and League of Legends, World of Warcraft.

I juggle 4 launchers for a catch'em all scenario of the type of games I play;
Steam, Epic, Xbox App, GOG.
I welcome a PlayStation launcher with open arms!

Unlikely. And if the next Xbox console plays PC games, there is a high likelihood that Sony would cancel (or further delay) PC releases. This will happen as long as Xbox is perceived as a console and a competitor. Once that also goes away, then may be the spigot will open again.

We don't know anything about a PC version of DS2 and it's not first party developed so I don't see it as a good example, Kojima might've signed a deal so it comes after 3 months.

The real confirmation that anything is changing here will come from first party developed games. Ghost of Yotei is the real test, everything else is already out or was released longer than 6 months ago.
We do know that when Sony funds and publishes a game, it is generally considered first-party, whether they own the studio or not. Shuhei has clarified this pretty recently. I will admit that Death Stranding is a bit of a special case because usually they own the ip of the game they fund. But with Death Stranding they do not.

I see your point though that at least with Yotei, Sony is not only publishing the game, but they also own the studio and ip.

lol, I din't want their stuff
I'd like to see Demon's Souls and Astro Bot on PC, but for whatever reason they don't want to port those two specifically. Maybe GT7 too.

Astrobot is the only PS5 game I'm interested in but I'm prepared to wait until a second hand PS5 can be picked up for under €100 to play it if it don't come to the PC.

Only another 5 years or so to wait then.

But DS1 wasn't published by Sony on PC. How would we know that's not happening again?
Besides, these might be new plans that only affects unreleased games. They need to have Nixxes ready to make the port too.

They should release day and day just so we can get all the PC gamers complaining about shitty performance while PS players already finished the game and moved on to the next.
