Larry Charles will return to direct. While Sacha Baron Cohen and Alec Berg (yes, that Alec Berrrrgg) are the writers. Berg's partners Mandel and Schaffer are on board, as well.

Rough plot summary:

The Dictator is an upcoming 2012 film by Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen's fourth film will "tell the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed", according to Paramount Pictures, which will distribute the film. Larry Charles, who previously directed Baron Cohen's mockumentaries Borat and Brüno, will also direct the film. Baron Cohen will star alongside Ben Kingsley and Anna Faris.[1] The film is said to be inspired by the Iraqi novel Zabibah and the King.[2]

Ha I used to think the same thing. But I actually got to work as an extra for this movie. They needed people who fit a Middle Eastern look and a friend of mine owns an Egyptian restaurant which they were using for scenes so he called me to do background work. Got to meet SBC. Funny dude and best was how he stays in character in between takes. No idea how the movie will turn out.

No, that's good news. Baron Cohen was great in Talladega Nights, and it will be nice to see him in a proper acting role again.

(I really liked Borat, but couldn't stand Bruno or the Ali G movie)
