Hey I see you are playing the Nintendo Switch video game console and you are also a girl! High five good for you!
I seriously wonder if OP would have handed out a five to a dude. Some of y'all are transparent
DS never left. Always #1.
People who take the same bus line as me have the uncanny privilege to see me play handheld consoles in the wild. Including the Vita, no less.
Why the F would I high five a stranger?!
Saw a guy play Switch the other day in the same train, sat right next to him, saw he was playing Mario Kart, I pulled out my Switch and asked if he wants to play a round or two.
He packed his Switch in his bag, stood up and went away. Saw him sitting on the stairs when I left the train, still playing Mario Kart.![]()
I only play portables in my house, feels weird to take it outside when I'm having a social life i wouldn't waste spending my time outside gaming still pretty sad imo, unless for some one or two minute casual games at random times
I regularly see people playing 3DS on the subway. I remember even battling a rando on another cart when Pokemon XY was released.
The real rare sight for me was spotting someone playing Dragonball Dokkan on the train.
That's how germs spread.
DS never left. Always #1.
And I was obviously kidding about the high five, talking to her, etc. Why the F would I high five a stranger?!
Damn straight. I might give it to the GBA depending on the day, though.

Really? I think I see at least one handheld on every ride. The last time I was actually surprised at seeing a handheld on a subway ride was when someone busted out an OG Gameboy like 2 or 3 years ago lol
I've never seen anyone use a Switch in my car during my commute to and from work every day so it's obviously not a hit
Nintendo somehow make handheld hip and cool again, in this mobile phone world.
Kinda crazy if you tell me this would happen in 2016.
I play vita on a train almost every day I go to work in ny. Would never take my switch though. Only time I've seen others with handhelds was when Pokémon came out.
During my daily commute here in NYC the last 234 years, it's been pretty rare to see someone playing a handheld system on the subway. Maybe two times a year. To be honest, I haven't seen any handheld the last year or 2, though, as everyone just plays games on their phone.
That said, last night, there was a girl playing Zelda on her Switch. I gave her a high five and we discussed all our favorite shrines, and we readily agreed that having weapons break after 1 hit was totally the right way to go, and we hoped every other game incorporated that mechanic going forward.
Seriously though, I thought the chance of seeing a Switch on the subway was near 0. The weird thing (to me) was that she just put it into her backpack as she left the train. I'd want a carrying case for that badboy.
If we're doing anecdotes I saw someone on the London Underground playing one last week.
Lol^^People play portable videogame systems in public, NeoGAF poster claims.
I think the bigger issue going undiscussed here is the fact that the OP is apparently over 200 years old.
What's your secret?
Was she playing with gray or neon joycons?
One person on a subway in a city of 10 million people! This thing is a hit!
Every day since the Switch launched, you have commuted via Subway. The NYC subway is one of the largest and most used subway systems on Earth. During this time you have seen 1 person playing Switch on the subway.
Clearly it's a huge success.
I saw one uni student playing one. Only time I ever saw it in the wild.I've seen someone playing a Vita on the NYC subway before. Talk about a rare sighting.
Did she have red hair and looked vaguely like Patrick Klepek?
She'll post in this thread soon.
