I saw someone playing a Switch while waiting in line for a movie. That was the first time I had seen a Switch at all, and in public. But he was definitely a big fan. Playing Zelda with a Zelda-related t-shirt.
I play my Switch almost daily in Chicago on the CTA Red/Brown lines. I've actually seen someone else playing too. He was wearing the same exact colors as me too...
I wanted to date him.
I only play portables in my house, feels weird to take it outside when I'm having a social life i wouldn't waste spending my time outside gaming still pretty sad imo, unless for some one or two minute casual games at random times
Did she have red hair and looked vaguely like Patrick Klepek?
I take it you're one of those guys who leans on the subway doors.
I have you all beat.
On the NYC subway I saw someone playing the Japanese version of Dangan Ronpa on a PSP. He was balancing the PSP on the top half of a 3DS and reading a translation from the bottom screen of the 3DS (this was before DR hit the states.)
I havnt seen anyone playing Xbox in a subway for a long time now...
People play portable videogame systems in public, NeoGAF poster claims.
Which part was the joke, the talking about weapon degradation or the talking to a girl?
Which trains are you even riding that you don't see portables in public? Hell, I still see people playing the PSP on NYC subways. Saw a dude doing it about two weeks ago. Game looked like it was Madden.
Should've taken a discrete photo on your phone. Make sure the shutter sound and flash is disabled.
I've seen someone playing a Vita on the NYC subway before. Talk about a rare sighting.
The Vita made it b o y s

All of that part. I thought it was obviously a joke, because why would someone go up to a girl, high five her (?!) and then talk about weapon durability?!
But then this guy's co-worker said e3 will be about Scorpio !! I don't know what the truth is anymore !

are anecdotes thread a running joke already ?
Cargo pants?Lol. A friend of mine came over a couple nights back and brought his Switch for some local MK. He sat down and pulled the system out of a cargo pocket and I literally gasped. Heathens.
Seen it a few times and on the metro north.
Where you been, Commish!
Pretty rare I'd say. I commute from Queens all the way downtown to Wall St. and have seen a 3DS/Vita maybe a handful of times.

Geeeez y'all are mean! Whether or not OP was joking, he makes a good point. We can read all the stats, reports and press releases, but often it's a small, personal occurrence that really solidifies reports of success.
You've obviously only seen the rare few early adopters, as I've yet to see that yet. Men embarrassing themselves to get women's attention, on the other hand, has become a major success out here on the BART in the East Bay.I saw someone jacking off on the NYC subway on my way home from a bar last night. Therefore, jacking off in public has made it.
I see Switch/Vita/3DS at least once a week on the 7 train
During my daily commute here in NYC the last 234 years, it's been pretty rare to see someone playing a handheld system on the subway. Maybe two times a year. To be honest, I haven't seen any handheld the last year or 2, though, as everyone just plays games on their phone.
That said, last night, there was a girl playing Zelda on her Switch. I gave her a high five and we discussed all our favorite shrines, and we readily agreed that having weapons break after 1 hit was totally the right way to go, and we hoped every other game incorporated that mechanic going forward.
Seriously though, I thought the chance of seeing a Switch on the subway was near 0. The weird thing (to me) was that she just put it into her backpack as she left the train. I'd want a carrying case for that badboy.
