I found the lead actress really annoying in 'You' Season 3 and 4 on NetFlix, so I'm definitely disappointed that after 4 years of waiting for Naughty Dog's new IP which we were all anticipating to be a GOTG contender, they showed this Guardians of the Galaxy looking trailer. I think I need to find another hobby because I don't find these Marvel sounding/ woke looking characters appealing at all. It's sad because I really enjoyed the PS4 gen (loved TLOU2) but I'm completely tuned out of most upcoming Playstation titles.

I like the setting, I love the 80s, the soundtrack seems good, but without gameplay I can't say much more.

But: it's a Naughty Dog game... so the chances are good^^

Has there been any discussion about the gameplay....

Neil has said this is the most ambitious Naughty Dog production from a gameplay perspective surely that's exciting?

Whatever anyone thinks of the last of us 2 most agree that it has some of the best 3rd person combat ever.

Even if we just get an ultra polished souls like that's exciting as I don't think we've had one yet amazing as that is.

And before anyone Rebuts no Elden ring isn't polished neither is black myth and the jedi fallen order games certainly aren't!

No i like having a decent story with good charas but since i never really enjoyed any nd story or character except maybe joel and crash, i already prepare myself to have a similar experience with this one.

I'm usually absolutely spent and done when i complete a fromsoft game because playing 100 hours without knowing what the fuck i'm even doing or without giving a fuck about any chara take a toll on me., but nd games are not 100 hours long so only playing for the production values, animations and combat is way more doable.
FromSoftware "Storytelling" is some of the most overrated bullshit in the industry.

The terrible voice acting/animation obviously a result of budget restraints in the early games just makes the world more werid and mysterious according to fans.

FromSoftware are the luckiest devs ever never having to invest in talented voice actors.

The world building and art is obviously supercool though.

I don’t think it had the best 3rd person combat, but it had the best gameplay to cinematic transitions. Absolutely incredible animation work, the most progress they’ve made so far as gameplay is concerned.

I think this will be a real test for them. They’re going for action, that’s not easy for a studio that hasn’t dipped its toes too heavily into that sort of game design. Less shooting and more sword-like combat is what I think they’re going for, and they need to nail it. Action games get boring real fast if there is no depth to the mechanics.

I just thought it was good ND is doing something different, a new IP, rather than TLOU again. Don't know how it'll turn out, but if they're so good at what they do, give them a crack at a different setting.

probably but need to see actual gameplay, level design etc. that trailer did nothing for me personally, but with the uncharted series or LOU it was instant draw, this it was more of a meh probably cause of games like the last few space explosion games were all whack.

I hated how the story went in TLoU 2, but to this day, it still plays great, looks great, and has the most detailed character animations I've seen in a game. I'm confident that the new game will at least deliver on those fronts, so I'm excited to play it.

Well I said some of the best not the best 🙂

I think they almost perfected the 3rd person stealth action hybrid dude shooter a lot of devs were building towards in the ps3/ps4 era. Only game within that category that compares I think is MGS5.

It's a really nice balance between dynamically moving from stealth and action, open ended level design, resource management, lots of fun weapons and dynamic A.I that comes together really well.

It completely killed my interest in any similar games and I haven't played one since lol.

Having said all that I have enjoyed other 3rd person shooters more but for different reasons. They include Resident Evil 4 remake, Returnal and the Horizon games

Not enough has been shown for me to know now what decision i will make.

I want to see the setting, how the world is built and what it can offer, what the story is like and what is going on with the main character.

I like that this is not another sequel to one of the previous titles, i guess that the creators' comfort zone will be duplicated to some extent and certain narratives will shine through, but i'm not negative just to express my views, nobody gives a fuck about them, really.

Reactionary thinking doesn't always work for me, and since there's nothing rushing me here, i have some time to process things.

All I’ll say is a new IP such as Intergalactic having a female protagonist is not upsetting to me when compared to an existing franchise swapping out their male protagonist for a female one. Gamers are sick of that shit.

Again, we don’t have problems with female protagonists, we have problems with the “woke message” being shoved down our throats. My 2 cents atleast.

I’ll reserve judgement on Intergalactic until I see gameplay and get to know the protagonist better.

I wasn't interested and certainly won't buy it, but I am very much interested in the many discussions and YouTube rants it will motivate in the months to come. Good entertainment.

I wanted a new IP and I am very happy. Provided the game receives good reviews from the YouTubers I appreciate (genuine gamers and not YouTube grifters looking for incels and anti-woke outrage), I will be there on day one.

The more I watch the trailer, the more I am fascinated by it. The part from 0:00 to 3:28 with the music (Trent Reznor?) is a pure masterpiece!

+The sci-fi and spatial exploration settings with a mysterious and dangerous planet ahead.
+The music, with each new note painting a darker and more mysterious picture.
+The low light conditions in the spaceship and the quality of these lights.
+The notes and pictures on the board.
+The micro-expressions and emotions on each character's face, who obviously appreciate and respect each other. Their voices also stand out (stellar performance from the two actresses, and I am sure the rest of the cast will deliver excellent performances too).
+The main character is not sexually attractive, I don't care at all. Still, she is kinda cute when she has hair on her head and still cute and feminine in her own way when she is in warrior mode with her shaved head.
+The main character seems to be hunting her former friends and colleagues for some reason. Her next target Colin Graves is on the Sempirian moon. There will be other targets maybe on other planets. The scars at the back of her head show that she has been in warrior mode for some time.
+Smart YouTubers noticed some references to Akira and Cowboy Bebop, two anime which I am a huge fan of (especially Akira, my first anime love ❤️ ). I hope other gamers who share an interest for Intergalactic will notice and unveil new details in the trailer.

-Not a big fan of the Pet Shop Boys music. Nonetheless, the image quality and the lights and reflections remain top notch during this sequence.

+The (fake?) gameplay at the end shows that Naughty Dog is aiming for dynamic combat gameplay where you can run and jump on the decor in real-time to attack a massive enemy from above with a futuristic sword (and guns). Apparently, Naughty Dog stated that they are aiming to deliver their most advanced gameplay ever. I want to believe!

Returnal is another game which was boycotted by incels because the MC was not designed to please them sexually. I rightfully ignored their outrage and had a blast exploring the mysterious planet Atropos, with its excellent gameplay and musical score from Bobby Krlic.

In 2027, if Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann deliver, it's an easy buy for me. Probably the Deluxe Edition, not something I do often.

On PC absolutely if the game is good - which it’s ND so I expect it to be.

There will be mods to to either improve the main character’s looks, or just replace her with someone else like Samus.

I've never liked NaughtDog games very much, so I was never planning on buying it in the first place. The trailer's concept was interesting in the sense that it could be a fun game (just because of the Guardians of the Galaxy's vibe... Nowadays everything seems to have to *have* that vibe), but then again, ND games are not my style. The closer I came to 'enjoy' one of their games was with Uncharted 4, and even with that one I had to force my way into the end.

Oh, also, they created TLOU2, the only one game I can, in all honesty, say that I hate and regret buying.

It still needs to win me over. The trailer did nothing for me, which isn't good. Yet I loved TLOU and Uncharted. So there's still hope for me. Its a definite "need to see more". I hope its not all melee based shite.

My hopes aren't high, but I'll keep my eye on it because we really don't know anything yet. Genre is intriguing, at least.

Depends entirely on the gameplay.
If it's like their other modern games (Uncharted 4 and TLOU2) it's going to be an easy wait for a sale. I enjoyed both of those but they are in the 7/10 territory for me.

But I honestly think it will just be more of the same.
Stellar visuals and great combat, but half of the game will be walking and talking, awful "puzzles" or platforming and extensive in game "cinematic" sequences where you don't really do anything for an hour (like all the flashbacks in TLOU2...or like the first 3 hours of Uncharted 4 lol).

The game looks like absolute trash unfortunately. Such a bad trailer and main character. Wtf were they thinking.

Its a pass for me or deep deep sales.

Only if the check clears. I won't support western AAAs anymore unless I'm explicitly the target demo. Certainly not when there are smaller Japanese projects that need and deserve my money more.

Pretty much doubt I will ever touch a ND ever.I aways knew they could release some impressive stuff visually, but thats about it about them.
ND is, for all purposes, a propaganda game maker. People illude themselves thinking otherwise and some have valid reasons, as gaming people are way more cautious now, but its the truth and it shows. The masses will reject if this is an infected political game and the only ones left are the clowns who are blind to DEI or simply take opportunity to namecall people for simply disliking the awfull designs.

I realllly hope they somehow manage to “thingy a man” (I forget her first name) likeable, and they just did an extremely bad job of it in the trailer. But we’ll see. Sadly, what a person, or a character can get away with in terms of being arrogant, cocky, annoying, and if they can be found to be a lovable rogue or just insufferable is often directly proportional to attractiveness.

They’ve made them both unattractive and bitchy. It’s not a good combination. And works across genders too.

It’s like a guy who is constantly perving women, and overly flirty etc, they can get away with a lot more if they look like Brad Pitt, the women may well swoon and be receptive, and others will be “oh Jeff’s at it again, don’t worry, he’s a harmless flirt” and it would be part of their endearing character. But if you have someone who looks like carrot top say and do the exact same thing the response would unanimously be they are an unlikely massive creep. It’s the same with being a dick, some people can pull it off and still be liked, others cannot.

I can say with near certainty that if they made that character hotter (just actually modelling her to be the same as the actress and giving her long hair would do), and gave her more flirty/cheeky mannerisms and delivery of the same lines, she’d have been much more likeable. But they’ve not, and it doesn’t work, and won’t work for the vast majority of people.

I was looking forward to the next ND game, and thought they would have learned from Abby, Destruction AllStars and Concord regarding woke character design.

Even if I have 0 issues with LGTB people (I think they did a great job in TLOU1 having LGTB but not being woke) and female protagonists (Kat was my favorite protagonist of the previous generation) but I'm too tired of the woke propaganda and I dislike the ugly and bald androginous lesbian they did put here.

I'm tired of seeing Sony removing all their male, white, heterosexual, good looking or at least likable and charismatic protagonists. Unless there's a character editor or they kill or replace her after a few minutes of gameplay and put another likable progatonist instead, I won't support this game.

I'm done, I want Sony to stop being racists, sexists and heterophobic and want them to go back to use protagonists I like. Which isn't too hard: charismatic and good looking badass males and femenine females.

I'm probably the biggest 80s culture nerd on earth.

"It's a Sin" made me smile. Not gonna lie.
But overall it all felt so incredibly bland, forced and LAME.
Main character being a BALD bossy girl does not help at all.

So not interested. Not even if it features my favorite 80s songs playlist.

The thing is there are rules for modern story telling(if you choose to follow them, and Naughty Dog certainly have),and that means we already know broadly how things will be in this game, strong women with no flaws, weak pathetic men, white men bad, ethnic people good......it's all so antithetical to good story telling, there will be no surprises here.Of course gameplay wise they might innovate and do something new and fresh(that would be nice),but the reality is story wise the whole thing is already tired and played out.

Bro what? Have you played any of their games. Abby had no flaws? Elly? The game kept hammering on how much they were flawed and constantly made bad decisions.

I agree that TLOU2 has some top of the line combat gameplay. But here's the problem. The combat gameplay was like... 30% of the playtime? The other 70% was filled with slow walking, exploring empty places and nonsense series of cutscenes with incredibly bad written characters.

I was looking forward to ND's next game, but not interested in Intergalactic anymore.

Trailer was a huge disapointment. The bald girl character is among the most unlikeable video game characters I've ever seen.

They should just have picked Karen Fukuhara for the role. Everyone likes her.

r0OUlmk.png

The game would have sold gangbusters.

Imagine all the cars the management could be buying from that success.

$$$$$
I met Karen and she is a lovely person, she would definitely be ideal.

She even autographed my Dead Space remake game and she liked it. And she appears in The Callisto protocol.

The setting and the graphics interested me, but I have to see more of it.

More specifically the combat and the gameplay loop.

I honestly didn't care about the characters and stories ND created so far, but I loved many other aspects of their games, like the combat, "stages" and stuff.

So I gotta see more of it.

I also hope that the game has coop, like in the Uncharted games.
