I don't understand this lifestyle. I also don't understand why people think girls like this are attractive.
This doesn't make any sense.

Talk to me, Marrec. What does that mean? The backlash does feel very sex negative. These women seem to be embracing an empowered, if... particularly white, lifestyle.
Bullshit. You were 30 already when you went to college and that was, what, 15 fucking years ago? Nice try.I know there's only a few bitter/angry people in this thread but I kinda wanted to relate my personal experiences as a single 33 year old.
The last four girls I've dated were all heavily involved in sororities and were pretty great. Rest assured, they grow up, put on 5-10 pounds, and become normal productive members of society working a regular somewhat soulless 8-5 job like everybody else. Being bitter about this kind of shit really only makes bitter people look like the assholes in the long run. It's just such a waste of energy, just enjoy the pretty girls.
It's like a socioeconomic litmus test for haves vs have-nots.
The lack of diversity is a nationwide thing, just look at sorority/fraternity demographic statistics and it's astoundingly mono-racial, can't blame that on them specifically. It's a stupid video but the fact that people raged against it is more "slut shaming" (rage against hot girls in bikinis) than anything else.
What the everliving fuck is a "white lifestyle?"

Im more interested in hearing from the people who complained the video to explain what is a brown, black or asian lifestyle. We'll see who the real racists are

A subtle misspelling of your name can't fool me: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Weinke27! Graduated grad school when I was 31.
Talking about the chicks I date that are older.
Although I probably missed a joke here somewhere.

That's cool and all. The Greek stuff still comes off weirdly cultish to me. I guess I just don't get the point.
You didn't offend me, I just don't get what a 'white lifestyle' is. Reminds me of my friends brother who rips on me for acting / talking black. I don't have a handy reference guide for which activities are racially appropriate so I like to see what other people go on.No deeper offensive to you meaning Dave, just that they're not limiting themselves except in diversity. They're rich white girls surrounded by rich white girls going through college in Greek style. That's an incredibly "white" lifestyle. Sorry if I offended you. And no, I'm not excluding black women from that lifestyle, they are.
This is ultimately what made me ask. It's odd seeing 'white' used as just a random negative descriptor as though it actually meant anything tangible. It isn't even all that. People are just using "white" as a prefix to shit that doesn't even make sense.

Eh, it's not like they're doing it so that you get the point.
Probably. His coach would have probably also killed him he'd run as fast as he could, considering that guy is Kenyan Drake, a running back for the University who is recovering from a broken leg.You know damn well brother in the video sandbagged that race. C'mon son.

Okay, look, white people still make up the majority of the population in America. They make up 77 percent of the population. 245,519,933 people, give or take a cracker or two, are white. In any given scenario, you're likely to find clumps of us, standing around, ordering ham and Miracle Whip sandwiches (on Wonderbread, natch!) and dancing badly. The very presence of a group of a majority doesn't automatically infer any negative connotation.

How do you know these chicks are rich? How do you know they exclude black chicks? If those black chicks are as judgemental and prejudiced as many of the people that have viewed this video, they might well be excluding themselves.

That's a very odd logic to label it "white lifestyle". A frat in my uni mostly made up of Indian students promoted themselves using more or less the typical "Greek lifestyle" outlook. Would I be accurate in saying they're promoting "white lifestyle" or "Brown/Minority" lifestyle?

I can't speak for Alpha Phi, specifically, but the "white sororities" (and, yes, there are "black sororities") did historically discriminate against minority candidates. However, over the past decade, there has been a strong push to break down these unofficial barriers. The resistance to these efforts came not from the girls currently in school, but from the older graduates who maintain veto power over who received a "bid" (offer to join the sorority). There was a whole series of articles on this a couple of years ago. Here's one from the University paper: http://www.cw.ua.edu/article/2013/09/the-final-barrier-50-years-later-segregation-still-existsHow do you know they exclude black chicks? What the alumnae did is beyond disgraceful. Are we really not going to talk about the black girl?
The question asked by Alpha Gamma Delta member Melanie Gotz during her chapters sorority recruitment was greeted by silence. The sororitys active members and a few alumnae gathered in the room to hear the unexpected news that there would be no voting on potential new members that night. The chapter, they were told, had already agreed on which students would be invited back for the next round.
Gotz and several of her sorority sisters, however, were far from satisfied. They wanted to discuss one potential new member in particular.
By any measure, this candidate was what most universities would consider a prime recruit for any organization, sorority or otherwise. She had a 4.3 GPA in high school, was salutatorian of her graduating class and comes from a family with deep roots in local and state public service and a direct link to The University of Alabama.
. . .
Like other black women before them, these two students tried to break what remains an almost impenetrable color barrier. Fifty years after Vivian Malone and James Hood became the first black students to desegregate The University of Alabama, there remains one last bastion of segregation on campus: The UA greek system is still almost completely divided along racial lines.
. . .
Gotz was the one to openly question the motives behind executive members and alumnae of Alpha Gamma Delta as to why they dropped the black student that she and others wanted to become a pledge.
It was just like a big elephant in the room, Gotz said. So I raised my hand.
In response, Gotz said alumnae in the room cited the chapters letter of recommendation requirements as a reason for the potential new members removal. Active sorority members then began standing up to voice support for the recruit and challenge alumnae decisions, Gotz said.
It was just so cool to see everyone willing to take this next step and be the sorority that took a black girl and not care, Gotz said. You know, I would say there were probably five people in the room that disagreed with everything that was being said. The entire house wanted this girl to be in Alpha Gam. We were just powerless over the alums.
Oh my, Marrec of all people caught in a PC trap?
Video is a waste of time to judge or even watch imo.
They are a place where fake tanned blondes with tight bodies, perky boobs, and great nails congregate. These chicks are often late teens heading into the wide world for the first time. I'd be negligent if I didn't know of them.I mean, do you know what a sorority is? You're from a different country so I don't know.
They're promoting a "greek" lifestyle. Not, actually greek, for those of you who are confused.
"we don't interact withblackminority people"

What is the difference between Greek and White lifestyle?
You don't get the point of a social club?

Ah man, I think I want to stay ignorant on this stuff from now on. I'm fed up of seeing happiness only to have it deconstructed until it's based on someone else's misery.I can't speak for Alpha Phi, specifically, but the "white sororities" (and, yes, there are "black sororities") did historically discriminate against minority candidates. The first minute and a half of the video seemed like an ad for a playboy mansion. Then the rest of the time at that lake was just weird. And they used a shot of some girls ass multiple times where she held the school flag behind her. Definitely not in the schools interest for this to be advertising sororities.
