Damn.
I did it and it was just as I expected.

Damn.
Vast majority of those women in particular are fake blondes.
I was more taken aback that there wasn't a single one that was remotely overweight. Even the sororities at Arkansas would have a number of girls that weren't stick thin.
Let them have fun, makes me miss college. Of course in the span of 10 years most will not have the same body types as they do now.... that damn metabolism ...
These girls are just having fun."
Why would they make a "recruiting video" aimed at horny teen boys for a sorority ?
That's honestly, my first thought. I don't see a problem with the video until the "lack of minority" was pointed out. Also:
Yeah, that was my second thought. "Yeah, let's advertise ourselves as fun and breezy and totally willing to get down the boys."

I agree that "white" shouldn't be used as a negative descriptor.
But, I did want to address the other point-- honestly? I mean, as someone that actually was Panhellenic back in my undergrad days... you can't honestly believe that these chicks are poor (or that most of them aren't from at least comfortable families), or that there's no racial preference for pledges, especially in a school like Ole Miss.
I have heard that the "better" black chicks (the well-off, educated, pretty ones) tend to rush black sororities. Of this I am much more unsure whether or not it's true, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. I do feel like at my school, many of the prettier and wealthier Asian girls tended to rush Asian sororities. Self-segregation is pretty strong, even on college campuses.
Look at all these hosts for Fox News.
Seriously. Videos like this one and all of the below from other public school sororities makes me wish I went there just for the views. Oh how I miss college
These videos are made every year by tons of sororities. This one is only getting heat because someone wanted to make a name for themselves by complaining.

For the record I do not have these saved but Barstool Sports does a rundown on each of them when they pop up each year.
Panhellenic??
More offended that they allowed their video to be taken down. Nothing offensive about it.
But at least now I know where the wives of PGA players come from.
Vid made me cringe. Bunch of shit-for-brains barbie brats who wouldn't last two seconds in the real world without daddies money. Thought this kind of thing only existed in Hollywood movies, sad to see it's a reality.
link?
Who doesn't like pretty, leggy blondes?
This doesn't make any sense.
"we only interact with black people if they play football"
I don't think that's necessarily fair to the girls in the video. Like I said, I can't speak for this particular sorority, but it seems like progress was being held up by alumnae, not the current students.Ah man, I think I want to stay ignorant on this stuff from now on. I'm fed up of seeing happiness only to have it deconstructed until it's based on someone else's misery.
So it's not perfect, but it's improving. The present finally rejected the past at the University of Alabama. On Friday, more than a week after a story about persistent segregation in the school’s sorority system attracted national attention, multiple African American women accepted bids to join traditionally white sororities. The move ends the last bastion of segregation at the tradition-bound southern university.
“I’m kind of still in shock and awe,” says Melanie Gotz, a member of Alpha Gamma Delta, one of the sororities to admit its first black member. “It doesn’t seem like history has happened, but it did, and it’s amazing.”
The news erupted across student and alumni social media networks after a picture of Halle Lindsay wearing an Alpha Gamma Delta T-shirt was shared on Instagram. Cami McCant accepted a bid to join Kappa Alpha Theta, breaking the racial barrier at another traditionally white sorority. The news of their bids was first reported by al.com. As of Friday evening, at least four black women and two other minorities had accepted bids to join historically white sororities, according to a video statement by University President Judy Bonner.
how old were these girls when Legally Blonde came out
While it's true that certain fraternities and sororities tend to be pretty hostile towards minoroties, I don't really see the big deal with the video in particular.
Honestly it would be worse if they pulled some token black person into this stupid video.
Your avatar looks like someone painted Jayden Smith on a varnished egg. You don't get to talk about taste.Sure it does. I don't understand the appeal of Greek culture, and I don't understand why people find vapid basics with fake blonde hair and orange tans attractive physically. It seems trite and artificial to me.
Yeah, maybe I was too harsh in my last post. I'm just a bit fed up about how things always turn out on here (in America?). I do appreciate the effort you took to explain the broader situation to me, thank you.I don't think that's necessarily fair to the girls in the video. No problem at all. I'm not a fan of some of UA President Judy Bonner's other policies and decisions, but she's been on point in helping the current students pry control of their organizations away from the old alumnae and admit the students THEY want to spend their college years with, whether they be black, white, brown or orange.Yeah, maybe I was too harsh in my last post. It's like every thread involving Alabama turns into this somehow.Edit: Oh and your rant gave me a good giggle too. Twas very true.
Could they use more women that are not blonde and white? Sure. But really, nothing wrong with the vid.
Yeah same here. Maybe it's just my already low opinion of greek life taking over here but I'm not quite sure what makes this so offensive as to be taken down.Honest question, what's the problem here?
I'm struggling to understand the issue with this video

Worse for golden retrievers than Donald Trump?
side rant: And fuck all the ignorant motherfuckers who come in here spouting shit like "oh it's Aaabama giggle giggle giggle those girls must be racist because they're from alabama and everybody from alabama is a mouth-breathing product of incest who just doesn't know any better but the people where i live are all living harmoniously in a post-racial world where everyone gets along regardless of the color of their skin and nobody is ever treated lesser or different here even by cops because we live in a wondrous land with lollipop trees and rivers made of chocolate"
Life is truly brutal
Daaawwwww
I want to get in there and do some petting.
