Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I can't wait until the new modes unlock. Turf War is so fast-paced, any stoppage seeks like a wasted oppurtunity. But man, taking your time and hiding/sneaking to flank an opponent is such a great feeling! I can't wait to have a chance to slow it down and become an ink ninja!

I finally managed to get a few good games in a row then some people leave, new people come in and surprise surprise the game shits itself within a minute after some stuttering music.

Splatshoot jr. does indeed seemed to be the most deadly/balanced loadout for turf war, but it's too early to say whether or not the others are unbalanced when ranked modes haven't even been officially launched yet. I think each of the main loadout can be viable in turf war, and I see huge potential for some of the weaker turf war loadouts for the ranked modes (such as charger for tower).

True. That's something I didn't consider.

Just came from Best Buy at West Hartford, CT they had 5 Splatoon triple packs at the service desk. Picked up one as my GCU makes it 20% cheaper than my Walmart order.

Will wait got that to arrive on Wednesday and return the one with worse paint job.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Wonderful 101 is a game about super heroes that was released at the point where super hero popularity has literally NEVER BEEN HIGHER IN THIS COUNTRY. Of course marketing would have helped. Taking a pass on doing your job as a publisher because your game is "Niche" is the same mentality that kneecapped Cartoon Network for years, which judged shows based purely on external merchandising. "We can't use this show to sell t-shirts to 10 year old boys, cancel it. Girls like it? Not our demographic, cancel it."

Nintendo put more effort into pushing Sonic Boom than they did pushing the Wonderful 101. Think about that for a minute.

Wonderful 101 is closer to Power Rangers (which is nowhere near as popular as it used to be) than say Superman, Batman or Spiderman. I don't think the overlap and cross-appeal is as strong as you think it is. Not to say more advertising wouldn't have been better but I'm not sure the increase marketing cost would have for sure been made up with the appropriate number of sales. Hard to say either way though :/

How fast do you level up?

I hate when online game take forever to level up

Played three and a half hours today online and already level eight and a half.

Good to hear that the Inkzooka is as lovably powerful as I thought it'd be. :D

I want the Inknado!

Can someone remind me what/when DLCs are coming? Was a summary of the Direct made?

The regular DLC like maps and gear will be made available at a relatively regular basis (or according to the EU Direct, "every other week"), since most of them are in the guide they're probably just waiting for timed unlocks. The modes seem to be more dispersed. I imagine that Tower Control will be late June and that Rainmaker will be late July.

Just woke up. Haven't played again yet, but based off of last night, the Charger is actually really good for rushing through blockades by making roads. There were times where the opposing team was defending the upper square at the Rig where I was able to create a road and just push through to try to ink the place. Now whether or not I survived 30 seconds after that is another story. Haha... My close-range game is soooo bad right now.

Really not sure what weapon to main. Charger (and variants) are the most satisfying weapons when I manage to play them well, but that rarely happens. On the other hand it is easier to play the Splattershot Jr, but the weapon is a bit boring. And with so many people still calling rollers OP (as if), I feel bad by using it.

I wish I would unlock the inkbrush already.

Seriously, the Inkbrush looks really fun to play, at least compared to the Roller IMO.

Thanks for answering it just seems like my charger is dead hoping I could go somewhere local and get one.

I know that GameStop sells those Energizer charging stands, but you wouldn't be able to play and charger. The stand does work and is pretty nice, especially if you have Wii Remotes. One of my friends uses that, so I've seen it in person. I think she paid less than $30 for it. You may want to try that if you're desperate.

Just got back from Best Buy with my Splatoon amiibo 3 pack. Showed up 15 minutes before they opened and there were about 7 people in line. None of them wanted Splatoon amiibos. They had 4 of each. They had 4 Charizards and nobody bought them.

I'm on the fence with this game. I was really excited for it, but I did not enjoy how it controlled in the test fire. I tried both control schemes and both felt off. I probably just need more time with it, but I'm nervous I'm just falling for the hype.

Have you adjusted the settings during your playtime or just tried the default sensitivities?

I saw this on the tweeters last night:

Thanks guys.

Really enjoying the single player mode, but the impressions were right on it being easy and short. I'd be disappointed if I had bought Splatoon for the SP only

Agreed. Speaking of which, has anyone unlocked it yet? Or isn't the weapon available in the game yet?

Spent the entire day since 10am in the shops in the UK, amiibos sold out every, game tell me due to "supply & demand"

Not the squid, just the boy & girl which they claimed were not stolen. Checks online sold out everywhere but Amazon & Amazon raised price to £30 for boy £19 for girl,

Balls to this nonsense Nintendo

It isn't available yet.

Haha, the way the inkling moves his head in the plaza reminds me of Sackboy.

Thanks again all. Going to give the motion controls a solid go. Is there a way to change the controls (specifically sensitivity) during a match that I am missing? Or only before and after?
