Souma Saitou = Tatsumi
Yuu Asakawa = Leone
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka = Rabac
Katsuyuki Konishi = Braht
Yukari Tamura = Mein
Risa Mizuno = Najenda
Mamiko Noto = Schere
Satomi Akesaka = Esdese

Taku Iwasaki is the music composer for the series. Man Taku Iwasaki has been damn busy with jobs which I'm glad he is.

Katsuyuki Konishi is a perfect for Braht because of reasons. I don't like Yukari Tamura as Mein.
So with Mahouka ongoing onto the summer that's two simultaneous Iwasaki series, huh?

Damn Cajun level of cuteness, Azusa why are you so moe with tech equipment. I guess the Olympics will start, as in various competitions in this new arc of 9 school competition. Budget seems to be raised for this new arc, which I hope is throughout. Don't fail me MadHouse.

LEO playing soccer, I need this episode now, I loved this start to the arc.

That concludes this arc.

There were some unusual bursts of action. The part where Lawrence gets caught from behind wasn't laid out very well. It was tough to tell where he got hit. But the climax of it was very satisfying. It's cool to see that both of them can hold their own when cornered.

Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

As character arcs go, this confirms all the developments in their relationship. Lawrence basically chooses Holo over his earlier ambitions, and she shows that she doesn't want to move forward alone, even if she's afraid to really open up to him. They're a great team.

Title drop!

Sometimes the economic exposition seemed a little forced (particularly in the sewers), but I guess it comes with the territory.

I kinda feel bad for Chloe.

I know that I've asked this before because the show had one fateful watcher here who was following it who convinced me to give it another try. My second attempt a few months ago got me about three episodes into the series before (I'm not sure why) I never returned to it again.

Now while going through a list of stuff on AniDB, I come across Kingdom with 8.12 rating and I'm like what the fuck
(no really... LIKE WHAT THE FUCK)
?!

What's so good about this show... does it get good or something? Does it have NTR? Seriously, why are people rating it so high? Is it so mediocre that trolls haven't become aware of it enough yet to deliberately down-vote it and the one guy who likes has his foot on the scale? What give?! It's pissing me off because better shows (which I've also haven't watched) deserve to be in its place.

I'm really feeling hate for this show right now.

Visuals alone do not make an anime, so based on the plot, ability to generate suspense, and even manage to really do an excellent job with massive large scale tactics for the war, people end up liking Kingdom. Second season addresses the visuals issue and is just as incredible as the first (though Im four episodes from finishing).

Also how could anyone dislike an anime with songs from the sketchbook.

Rabac looks great, is he a main character?

Rin walks past a "keep out" sign without hesitation, and an evil magical girl is entering into the equation. I'm interested.

Bigger problem is the director (Tomoki Kobayashi). I'm fine with everything else.

Edit: On second thought, maybe not as there are a lot of people from Jormungand. Well, fuck.

Is there anywhere to stream Escaflowne?
No, but there is a BD release planned for the UK by the end of 2014 if no delays happen. (it's Anime LTD reap)
Funimation has the US rights and should have recently released the (bad) movie, series date is TBC. (no announcement but they have the rights to it.)

Haven't seen the movie, though I just watched the series inside of the last year. How bad are we talking here?

It's a re-imagining that takes some characters and events from the series and mashes them into a move that just caters to the existing fan-base in a largely superficial way.

I think it's worth checking out once just for visuals and amazing soundtrack, but It's all fluff and "look how similar/different this is from the TV series!" than anything else. If you haven't seen the series there really isn't much to the movie at all. I personally liked the much more cutthroat, dark fantasy style this movie had, but there was zero chemistry and the plot felt like set-pieces connected by flimsy narrative bridges.

Black Bullet 07

So he has a cyborg eye in addition to cyborg limbs. That's a lot of power for someone who's working at a shabby office. As foretold by the Wikipedia, Tina has indeed come around to the heroes' side. That should make things fun going forward. She was never entirely villainous, and her friendship with Enju is kinda adorable. This arc was over quickly, but going by the preview's dialogue, it's merely a setup for much bigger things.

Maturity, bitches.
Who wants to start up an anime licencing company with me so the UK can get some decent shows since all the anime are failing in that department? I have a DVD burner, printer and a box of stamps so we'll be sorted in that area. Just need someone who can help me talk to the anime studios.

Hells. Yes.

I do kind of wish I hadn't been spoiled on
Tina being hired by Kisara
, since that would have been the most delicious surprise, but hey, who cares in the end, it was still delicious in the extreme.

And Rentarou's
victory over that asshole bodyguard guy
was deeply satisfying too. Approve greatly.

now can we have a sudden genre shift and the show becomes a slice-of-life about Enju and Tina being adorable pls

So finally am getting around to watching this as all of it is out now. Yea this is really good looking. Really high quality stuff especially on the mecha animation front, pretty much very close to CCA level. There's a lot of attention to detail and the boot up sequences for the mechs are gorgeous. The piles on the Zeon mech were so good. I would like a little more dynamic camerawork but all this 2D mecha porn makes me happy. There's also a fluidity to the movements that reminds me of something out of a movie. All this high quality animation adds to the atmosphere and later on to the horror. There was a sort of low-key tone towards most of the OVA that I appreciated. Music was ok, there was one piece I liked when that Neo-Zeon chump was fighting but the rest has been somewhat unremarkable.
The writing itself is Tomino-ish but not god awful Tomino so I can live with it. Banagher's motivations are a little groanworthy especially near the end as it feels he's simping too much. I understand some of that could be chalked up to Newtype shit but it still didn't prevent me from shaking my head.
In short, I like it a lot. There are some writing flaws but the strong storyboarding, coloring, detail, fluidity, and atmosphere really made this a great watch. I should also mention that I like the character designs a ton.

Finally a protaganist other than Kamijou Touma is willing to punch lolis. Although the other characters in this show are more brutal to little girls.

I guess in a world where lolis are the most powerful force on Earth, you kind of have to abandon that particular moral reservation =p

But Kotori is the best Date A Live

lol, it's funny because you're saying the opposite of the truth.

A sudden genre change will be one hell of a miracle, so yeah it aint going to happen. The manga of Black Bullet is darker than the anime.

Nice to hear that Sentai got K-ON s1, but I already have the four Blu-Rays from Bandai. Hopefully this leads to Blu-Rays of the other KyoAni shows Bandai had coming over here (Haruhi, Lucky Star, Nichijou).

So after, iM@S, AKB0048, I Want to be the Strongest in the World, Love Live and Wake Up Girls, what other idol shows are there to watch.

…does Symphogear count? xp

Suite Precure♪ 3

Things Suite Precure actually does better than Heartcatch, Exhibit A: eyecatches! It's so nice to have adorable chibis back. Heartcatch's eyecatches were actually pretty bleh.

(I'm not sure if there's going to be an Exhibit B…)

Though Hibiki has very little waifu value in the present day, her loli mode is actually pretty cute.

But hang on, let me get this straight: Hibiki's music-obsessed dad let his daughter carry on hating music for FIVE YEARS just because he wanted her to work out for herself what he meant when he criticised her performance? That may be a liiiiiiiiittle over the top. Seriously, dude, at least give her a hint XD

Or do I have to turn towards iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia?

What next, a country grown vegetables shirt?

I'm gonna have to give AKB0048 another shot. I watched one episode when I first made the horrible, horrible decision to watch anime and at the time is was just too "out there" for my sensibilities.
