Kill Me Baby 10

Another episode I loved. I remember how much I loved snow as a kid, since there was a chance I could miss school.
What usually makes me smile or laugh when watching this show are either the faces Yasuna makes, or the foreseeable consequences to her actions.
For example, this joke:

The smirk she does after still makes me smile now.

Here, taking a closer look to the little snowmen, I can't help but laugh at the one under Yasuna looking like he's making a sort of horrified expression, while the one under Sonya making an happy looking face
Or this other skit, where Yasuna plays with that controller, you know what's gonna happen next to her and I find it funny. Silly but funny.

I mean... goddamn it's beautiful, and the voice acting is good, and the action sequences are cool... but the pacing is just so amazingly slow.

Also, following a male protagonist in a Ghibli movie feels weird.
eh, for me it was easily the most visually boring ghibli movie i've ever seen.

I actually liked Earthsea more than Howl's Moving Castle. Of course, that's more of a testament to how disappointed I was in Howl's than an assessment of the quality of Earthsea as a film.

i also enjoyed earthsea more than howls but only because of
THE DRAGON. never before had a movie made me randomly burst out laughing on a train a few days after watching it.

Queen's Blade Rebellion 1

That was... disappointing. I mean, it's certainly still Queen's Blade, boobs and nice art and all, but I really miss the old characters, and don't really like what they did to the few recurring characters. I know, Hobby Japan wants to sell new books and figures and shit, but still. Also, Queen's Blade used to have a pretty good and catchy soundtrack, and this didn't.

If you haven't read Earthsea, though, you have no idea how... disappointing the story is. The movie is serviceable, but the fact that it's a corruption of something far more interesting is the more annoying part.

It's like Ghibli made a generic fantasy movie. Ghibli-quality genericness is still pretty amazing.

Tomodachi wa Mahou
Mai Ritoru Poni: Yuujou wa Mahou 04

DEAR GOD WHY? There are male ponies in this show. Why. This is like when K-On decided it’d be a good idea to introduce males in the cast. Utter blasphemy.

Anyway the episode focused on Applejack who I wasn’t a huge fan of going into this episode but is bumped up slightly on my waifu list and is tied with Fluttershy now (just to recap, Twilight > Rainbow > Fluttershy = Applejack > Rarity > Pinkie Pie)

The start of the episode was interesting. It shows a dynamic between ponies and another group of animals for the first time within the series. I wonder if the show will go back to that later on, those couple of cows who were up to noo good seem like they are startin trouble in the neigh-borhood.

Pinkie Pie would be a night-mare waifu. So utterly filly, the gal likes to party and party hard. In fact she’s done nothing in this series but party. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with a party, but she needs to lay off the powdered stuff, and I’m not talking about her love for sugar.

Speaking of partying too hard, basically sleep deprivation is dangerous nakama. Applejack has way too much pride but that stubbornness made for the amazing moment of the episode between Applejack and Rainbow Dash. It’s been quite some time since I took a physics course but I am positive that see-saw launch makes absolutely no sense. The only way it’s possible it is possible is if Applejack is a total fatty and has much, much greater mass than Rainbow Dash.

Anyway it’s time to stop shakin and it's time to get baking! Or not. That was one of the more disgusting concoctions I’ve seen in a show before. Applejack could have killed all of Ponyville with that thing. And Usagi! Poor bunnies, AJ is a big sleep deprived meanie :( All’s well that ends well. AJ should stop being a stubborn pony and swallow some of that pride sometimes. A pretty decent episode but hopefully I never see or hear of this Big McIntosh fella ever again.

Area no Kishi 14

I dont understand, knee ligment injuries never heal or something? and why does it have to be a secret between people knowing that his counseler is Dr. Mine? Regardless fun episode apart from them truly having Tsuijdo look like your typical antagonists...

The latter, it's honestly impossible for the ending to detract from the quality of the rest of the series. Since most of it's best moments are episodic.
Yeah, that's true. Sounds like a good route to take if you aren't particularly skilled with ending/tying things up nicely.

Best episode of the show.
The ending with the piano is really something else. Wasn't expecting to have any kind of emotional reaction to the show so early on.
You're not. Kaiba isn't as diverse in animation styles as Kemonozume was, but Yuasa still gives other episode directors a fair amount of freedom. Just wait until you see the next episode.
I will expect only massive disappointment so I can keep my expectations in check and be blown away when I do see it.
The ending gets a little out of hand, but it's not too bad and certainly doesn't retroactively ruin the show. Personally, I didn't feel there were quality issues until midway through episode 11.
Well, I'll try my best to judge the coming episodes prematurely then.
