We still don't have a GAF guild on a PVP server right? Definitely looking forward to world PVP while leveling. During the beta weekends I was so far ahead of everyone that I didn't get a chance to do any ganking at all =(

So what will be? I mean you're buying this right?

For me probably the social component. I have a few friends joining up so it should be a blast in that regards. On a more objective level probably the class stories for the people lucky enough to get a good one.

Uh oh, rolling care bear? Looks like no allegiance for my guild and GAF after all. :(

This is going to be the first time I have ever played on a PVP server. Should be fun in a guild with over 100 members ready to be deployed.

Yea the clothing/armor texture work is not going to be the highlight of this game.

Faces are lovely though. And overall lighting.

Old pics, from some months back, when I was in the beta. These have external AA applied, just in case people think the reason it looks jaggy free is because I've downsized the pics.

Sorry to say the armor so far (at least endgame) looks pretty meh.

Best thing about the armor is the modifications. You aren't forced to wear certain armor because it has better stats. You can practically wear anything you want and mod it to be as good as endgame armor.

Probably one of SWTOR's best selling points for me.

I haven't posted in this thread before, as I've been trying to stay as "spoiler" free from this game as possible. I can't wait for Tuesday... I already plan on leaving work early, lol. Anyway, I posted an invite request on The GAF Empire page, so I'm hoping I can join up with you guys.

I'm thinking Bounty Hunter, but I don't really have too much knowledge of how they compare to other classes, I'm just thinking story wise it might be cool.

It's kinda like SWG with it's composite armor and dye kits., kinda

Hey guys, what's the deal with the early access being on the 13th. I can't find anything on the website or the OP.

From the Pre-order FAQ stuff (www.swtor.com/preorder/faq):

When does Early Game Access begin?

Early Game Access will begin on December 13th, 2011 , 7:00AM EST (Pacific: December 13th, 4:00AM PST; European: December 13th, 12:00PM GMT, 1:00PM CET), seven days prior to the official launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. The length of your Early Game Access period will vary depending on the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. The speed of your download of the Game may also affect when you start playing.

I hope I preordered early enough to get Tuesday access. 8(

I also hope they prefer Origin customers over store customers. 8D

Origin DD's already getting preferential treatment from the No Grace Period clusterfuck.

I haven't been paying close attention, let me make sure I'm clear of what the no grace period issue is. People who preorder through retail will still get early access but come Dec 20, we won't be able to play until we get our physical copy. Is that the situation?

Yes.

Bingo. 12:01AM EST Dec 20 Early Access shuts off.

Yeah, a couple of days ultimately isn't a big deal but why start off on the wrong foot with some of your most excited fans. It just seems like dumb move.

Yes, but before the swtor forums shut down to be cleansed before launch Bioware had said they were talking to retailers (specifically Amazon, Walmart, Gamestop, and Best Buy) to authorize them to ship the game asap to make 100% sure people who preordered had their copies by the 20th

So all the complaining about the grace period might be moot if the majority of people have their game codes in hand when early access ends (as it should have been, restricting shipments to start on 12/20 was just a stupid ass notion)

I still stand by the whole keeping the early access at 5 days and giving a 2 days grace period woulda made more sense and avoided alot of drama.

I agree with what I've seen thus far. I was hoping they'd amp up the textures in retail or something though. :(

They'll likely do something to address the situation, given the PR. Something similar happened when they launched WAR.

Yeah, I thought this situation sounded familiar with an EA game. Not sure how their PR is such a mess, especially now this will be a 2nd time with a similar situation.

I spoke with an Amazon rep earlier today and she said that they're currently "talking" to BioWare/EA about it. She said that I would be e-mailed in 1-2 business days regarding updates to the matter and that they were "aware" of the situation.

I'm sure that was the nicest possible way of saying nothing she could think of, but at least she tried.

Isn't it more like 10PM EST?

No, it's exactly as I said. Straight form the Preorder FAQ:

Bioware said:
The Game officially launches on December 20th, 2011 at 12:01AM EST (Pacific: December 19th, 9:01PM PST; European: December 20th, 05:01AM GMT, 06:01AM CET). There will be no ‘grace period’ post launch in which those who are in Early Game Access will be able to continue to play the Game[...]
