Is there only going to be the Human Race for players to pick to play as? I don't see any information of different races you can pick, just classes.

While all classes are available to Humans, every other species is limited to certain classes. And since Empire and Republic field different classes, some species are Empire or Republic only.

In 2005 I ran it smoothly (40-60 fps)on a 9800pro and single core ahtlon 2800+, during wotlk it meant 3 fps in dalaran and 5-10 in raids.
They keep pushing that old engine and it's not playing nice (though cataclysm did finally get noticable optimisations and dx10/11 support.)

He's a voice actor on the game apparently and might have let one slip. Then again he doesn't even know what the game was called and might not be as well informed as we might hope.
Secondly the recording for his voice acting was done a year ago so things may very well have changed since then.

Not the same. To me being in a constantly pvp world just makes things more exciting. This is all assuming there isnt just nightmarish death penalties involved. I'd def go with a gaf guild on a pvp server. I've already made the mistake of starting PvE on wow.
I'm a casual who wants PvP. Bioware seems to be handling it the smart way. You can just revive yourself for free and there's no equipment degradation. It really depends if the game is going to have much pvp purpose at all in the open world. Even on pvp servers on other games, you often barely see the opposing faction or few actually engage in pvp outside of the occasional ganking.

Well there's two ways to revive yourself in the game. You can either respawn at the nearest base, or you can use the on-cooldown medic bot to revive you where you currently are. It acts like Soul Walk from RIFT.

People don't want to be ganked? The consequence is still having to revive elsewhere usually except for waiting for your revive time, so it disrupts whatever you are doing. PVP was pretty pointless with almost no penalty in DCU but ppl did it all the time, but it was annoying to not be able to complete tasks and quests because of gankers.
PVE just is very casual friendly without having to worry about someone interfering with your game
