Applied to the Empire GAF guild. Current guild with friends only has three people and I'm the only one who pre-ordered :|

Who needs friends when you have us :) We are evil and most likely will kill you off to get ahead BUT you will have fun while we do it.

Come on gaf guild. Get me into this beta. I'm sick of hearing conflicting reports about how awesome/horrible this game is. I want a crack at this beta.

Took me awhile to decide on a class, I have chosen the Jedi Consular. I also applied to the Republic GAF guild. Bioware did a great job on the guild features on their site.

I've been leveling one. I think it's so boring compared to everything else.

Look at it this way, if you get in the beta, you'll get through all the good parts before the actual game comes out. Then again, I guess that would save you some money.

The best part is playing with me. Which none of you can do until launch!

I am currently leaning toward a healer spec consular, but likely won't make my final choice until the game has gone live, or if by some miracle I get into beta.

I wouldn't play the class I am gonna play at launch if I were to get in, but yeah that is the problem with being invited. Get to play early and get burned out by launch...

Well, playing a new class in TOR is the same as any other MMORPG. Your abilities might be different, but you are still experiencing *mostly* the same content. Which is fine if you're looking for a game to kill time with (and, granted, a lot of people are), but it won't be as compelling the second or third or fourth time around (and it already has issues being compelling the first time).

Are you talking about game play? Because I thought there were different story lines for the different class.

There are, but I wouldn't say they take up as much of your time playing the game as you'd expect.

I thought they were holding back story content to prevent spoilers?

How do you expect them to do that and test it? There's more to test than just combat.

That's the class I made first in the beta. Still is my highest level character.

I'm in beta and I cancelled my pre-order. I can't find the will to login, playing Dragon Nest instead. Disappointing. I could write a big write-up on why, but I noticed its all been said already on SA forums: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3427062&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=62

If I remember correctly, WoW didn't have that much end game content when it was released (though certainly had more instances). We had to wait for a patch to open up BRD and MC.

Blizzard does it with all of the WoW expansions when they go into beta. They withhold certain content for the sake of not completely spoiling the game for players.

And each time they do that, it always ends up buggy as shit and broken for at least a couple weeks after the content release.

So what makes you think that Bioware knows any better? I bet its all of those wonderful, flawless and bugless games they've released over the years. Oh wait...

You know, at the rate players love to just shut down and squash any MMO they get a chance to beta (which they just use to try it out and moment they don't like something, its all over), its a wonder if we'll ever move away from WoW.

Happens with every MMO. Guild Wars 2 will be no different. =/

We need some hour long+ video leaks. I miss those ;(.

All you cancel my preorder people, leak the shit out the game before you leave. Be useful for once!

Beta testers are testing the story content?

I played the multiplayer and PVE demos at comic con. PVE was very bland but I am willing to forgive it for the moment because it was a starting zone. The PVP demo was fantastic and I was very impressed. Having played WoW for over 5 yearss now, the PVP in SWTOR is a lot more fun.

I really hope they patch more "flash points" into the game quickly, the early reports of only 5 does sound disappointing.

I still really want into the beta but like most of you, nothing yet.

BioWare is pretty good at banning people who record video or take screenshots. The risk is high, unless you're absolutely 100% positive you hate the game and don't want to play it anymore.

And chances are if you feel that way then you won't have anything good to record anyway. :p

That doesn't mean that ALL of the story content is available in the beta. They're almost certainly withholding certain bits and pieces to keep the testers interested in the final game.

Don't think they know if they are testing it all though. Couple pages back bioware dude seemed to indicate that not all flashpoints are in the beta either at this point. It's not uncommon that lot of things get left out of beta tests, or that they aren't finished enough and if so they might not appear in the actual beta till a later build or not at all.

I wonder if we'll get a big patch when the game comes out. It's not uncommon to see that happen.

Launch day patch? More than likely, seems to be the norm. The final pressed copies of the game are always done weeks in advance while the game testing will still be going on after up to launch.

Guys I am officially out. I worked until 7pm almost every day last week. This job is going to consume at least 10 hours a day, and with my workout schedule to continue my running schedule, I really don't have time to play right now.

It really sucks. I wanted to play and raid on this game. But as I continue to balance my job and life these first few months, I can't find/justify time for this atm.

(I work as an EE for a major semiconductor company. I arrive at 7am and leave no sooner than 5:15pm. I'm not complaining, but it's hard to justify the little time I do on weekdays on this.)

Are you totally out? There's still weekends. I understand though. Working fulltime at my brain dead job is bad enough, but actually doing engineering work for 8 hours? That would fry my brain.

work from 7am to 530pm at least. Get to gym around 6pm. Gym 6pm -> 7:45pm. Home at 8pm. That leaves me ~3 hours to get things done at home including dinner.

MAYBE I will still be in. But I don't see how I could end-game. I would have to be super casual. Knowing how I play MMO's this may be hard haha. (Reason I quit WoW)

Oh ok. If the reason you're playing is to raid I could see why it's not worth playing because at your schedule you could only play casually.

The ten more minutes I gave myself for the night tends to grow to a few hours in these games.

This happened to me in Super Scribblenauts last night. My OCD requires me to do each level in order and I got stuck on an early one and set the game down. I picked it up last night and blew through 3/4 of the game just saying "one more puzzle" to myself over and over.

Throughout this entire clip it looks like this guy has like three moves (jump at guy and swing, swing both lightsabers overhanded, thrust one lightsaber). I can see him hitting different buttons on the bottom, but visually it seems really boring to play whatever he's playing.

Agreed. I got tired of seeing the same move over and over again 2 minutes in...

He seems to be low level, so doesn't have much options

Luckily for me mmos and the civilization series are the only games where this happens (to me), and while both mmos and civilization are very enjoyable to me, it isn't because they are more entertaining to me than other great games. For mmos I think it is my competitive drive and I get caught up in the persistent world and civilization always has some carrot(s) coming in the next few turns.
