Eh so far SWTOR pvp doesn't look all that good to me. I was reading up on the PvP in GW2, and that sounds pretty cool. Why can't this game have something like that?
I've been a MMORPG player for more than 11 years and after playing the game for a few hours at gamescom 2010 and 2011, I have to say Guild Wars 2 has some features that would pretty much kill PvP for me (and a lot of other players I know).
Getting rid of dedicated healers pretty much means less depth for PvP. People may argue that's not true, but personally, I know not a single MMORPG PvP veteran that would disagree. Healers have been key in grouped MMORPG PvP since pretty much forever. Also, GW2 allows players to bind an entire skillchain / combo to a single keybind (it's even in the default settings). That's a pretty big dent in how much skill is required to effectively control your character (at least for DDs). But that's not enough. It's actually possible to set action bar slots on autocast. That's right. You can actually tell the game to perform spells for you. I don't even know why anyone would want that in an MMO, but it's absolutely ridiculous in a game with PvP.
And regarding SWTOR PvP: Devs hinted at a PvP planet on Comic Con and said they did not reveal all the PvP content yet and will talk about more in August (probably at PAX).
