Co worker got into the BETA today too and confirmed that the file to download is massive. He said 32 GB...but he's a bit dim...or most likely drunk.

Man...that's huge.

Isn't WoW that big with what...FOUR expansions?

Does that mean SW is huge, or is it just that Bioware has sloppy code?

Well high quality recordings do. There is of course other things in the game they havent shown. They talk about more planets in game then they have revealed etc

Warhammer Online had a closed beta for over a year, so I'd say that was the longest. In terms of installed size I'd say that TOR is the largest.

For the lucky few that got in to the beta weekend have fun. From what I have read, it should of let you start playing a few minutes ago.

With more beta users than ever, what are the chances of some actual information being shared? It seems like we need to count on people breaking some NDA since Bioware's recent update is a video of people in Germany saying how they liked the game (big f'n deal). I mean, who is going to play for 2-3 days and then most likely not get another invite and stay quiet? Especially if they don't plan on buying it based on the beta.

So for those that plan on breaking NDA, even if it is small stuff, I ask the following (in no particular order of importance):

1. Can you adjust the font size of the text?
2. Can you adjust the size of icons or the icon trays, chat window etc.?
3. If you have an SLI System, does the game play nice with it?

1 & 2 is due to me playing on a big screen TV and in some games you cannot adjust the font size to make it easier to read.

Thanks to anyone that has the balls to break some little NDA for the sake of us poor fucks that dont get an invite!!! :)

I don't need to break nda to answer the sli question. Zero driver support and the game doesn't support it either yet. I couldn't even find a diy profile on the net. So yeah it works with sli but no advantage yet.


Edit:I however I did see an nvidia statement saying they usually don't do sli profiles for beta software which hopefully means we will get one on release.

EU Beta might start next week now... holy hell Bioware, sort this crap out, please. Cynical people may mistake this as how you plan to treat EU for retail patches/updates too.

Yeah bc eu not getting the first week of invites means they wont get timely patches. Anyone that thinks that is crazy.

The SLI thing is funny seeing as nVidia has made bunch of SLI profiles for games way before they get released.Can't remember any example atm but they've done this.

I honestly don't think Bioware cares about the NDA at this point. They have to know that everything is going to be leaked to high heaven at this stage so I can't imagine them doing anything to the weekend beta testers over giving their impressions.

Nah what I mean is I know myself well enough to know that my opinion is just not going to be objective at all. Audio is wonderful. Glad I bought a pair of sennheiser 598s.

Patches are the smallest issues. I at least just don't want to see another WAR disaster.

At least they don't use GOA anymore. I guess that's a plus.

If you want to see how much they have lost touch with anything Star Wars, take a look at the latest Trilogy changes. It's mind numbling retarded to the point, were I can only feel contempt for Star Wars and would have wished for this game to have belonged to another IP, like Mass Effect, or something else that had not become this horrible stupid.


You have had franchises before in films, tv, games and books that went to shit eventually, but I can think of few that has fallen as far as Star Wars(maybe Matrix and Wheel of Time). Even the original OT is getting tarnished to the point with stupidity were it's hard to defend.

Pretty irrelevant, whatever Lucas does has pretty much no bearing on the other SW media which is handled by other departments and often saner heads.

Has it been stated when ALL people will be able to play and the game will be full open beta? I doubt i'll get in before that time, so I would just like to know when that time will be, because after Sept 20th I'll be too locked into Gears of War 3 to give a shit about trying the beta anymore to be quite honest.

This used to be the case but then Bioware was bought out by EA and has progressively dumbed down it's games so I don't trust them anymore. They're not what they once were. All about the dollar now.

Thats really not true. I think wow is pretty bad and I love this game. Well yes it is true since they play semi similar however I think if you dont like wow you could really like TOR as well.


Vague impressions. I really like this game. In the beginning it was meh but as I grouped and started getting into the plot I found it to be very enjoyable. The level of choice to me isnt gimmicky and keeps things fresh so far. Ive logged around 7 hours.

I have to say my favorite thing is the combat. Some parts are just delicious. Leagues beyond wow for me in this department.
