They've already said dual spec won't make launch, but will be put in sometime after launch.

Found this thanks:

Q: Since it has been clearly stated that there will not be dual specs for characters in the game, can you explain your philosophy behind the skill trees and how you are taking into account players that want to be able to play PvP and PvE content on the same character? - illumineart

A: Dual Speccing is something we want to add soon after launch. Also, features like Guard, PvP Taunt, Resolve, etc. work to narrow the gap between PvP and PvE specialized skills (i.e. a +Block skill would be helpful in both PvE and PvP).

Not very encouraging but better than nothing. I greatly prefer the flexibility that changing specs allows.

So, read on cake that the beta forums are making their displeasure of the mod nerf known, loudly. Sounds good. Keep it up duders. Maybe 95% of beta testers against the changes at this point?

My guess (and just a guess) is that they have several mod system templates they wanted to try & this is one of them. And now they'll probably go back to the old system.

You could literally max the game in around 30 hours playtime. There is absolutely no way TOR can be max level anywhere near that time.

It's already happened in beta.

WoW and Rift took similar approaches with endgame post-launch and they have seemed to be doing ok.

WoW and Rift had plenty of endgame content at launch though.

I thought these videos were interesting. It's low level Consular on Tython, but its in good quality, and the new build. Plus cutscenes not skipped, yay!

I probably wasn't going to have the time to play this at launch anyways but the email screw up was the thing that finally motivated me to cancel my pre-order. I was worried a bit if could do that or not since they sent out those beta pre order keys a while ago.

Launch sucks anyway. Better to come in when the game is settled.

Game so far seems very nice, just lot of glitches with graphics to iron out such as cut-scene issues galore.

They just need to make sure and get more content in the game by launch with more flashpoints and hopefully more endgame. Everything else just needs some polish

Were you playing at vanilla launch? Plenty isn't a word I would use to describe its endgame.

Rift was ok at launch and they have been adding content more or less on a monthly basis...but wow?

Lost all credibility.
Random question, is it viable leveling in a healing spec? Considering what you guys are saying about no dual-spec.

Don't take Morn seriously. He never has anything positive to say. Imagine his posts read aloud in Eeyore's voice for instant comedy.

All the healing specs have access to damaging attacks really, they all start out as a combat character really till you advance spec into a more healer centric role, and even then you still got lot of your combat abilities. And you got companions which you can have who are dps focused.

I was playing vanilla since March of 2004. At launch WoW had two 40-man raids, and three dungeons that needed fifteen players to run at the endgame.

Now now, let's not say such things. He has plenty of positive things to say about WoW! Hell, at times he almost sounds like an AdBot...

People will likely hit level 50 during the headstart.

Any of these people will not be playing any new MMO long term. Those in RIFT who did so were quickly quitting the game. If rushing to end game is all you care about, no new MMO is going to please anyone as none can deliver enough content to satisfy them as they used to the tons of content they have in their older games.

I would say vanilla WoW is the minimum what you should deliver as raid content at launch and SWTOR currently isn't really there.

three max-level 5 mans, a 15 man raid, and two 40 man raids is a lot more than what TOR has at the moment.

They've said at least 10 flashpoints, if I'm not mistaken.

edit:

"Each faction has faction specific Flashpoints, but there are no class-specific Flashpoints. The closest would be class story instances, but they are much smaller than Flashpoints.

While we haven't revealed the final number of Flashpoints in the game at launch, it's not 50, that much I'll say. It's in double figures though. :)"

So minimum 10 Flashpoints, will be interesting how much Flash Points are faction specific. Maybe u need to play both faction to do all high end content? Would be interesting ^^

Can we wait until launch to condemn TOR on it's endgame content or is that too much to ask?

10 Flashpoints, but they aren't all endgame. And on top of that they're supposedly split between the factions.
I think you can redo them at 50 and they're rebalanced for end game. I'm a really low level in the beta, so I have no idea if that's true.

Nitpicking, but those aren't the launch numbers. Scholo/Strath/LBRS/UBRS were all raids at launch. They were tuned for lower caps later

No, you could just do Scholo and Strath as raids because Blizzard didn't actually cap the number of players you could bring. They were supposed to be 5 mans technically, although they were very hard for the playerbase at the time, and a lot of people did them with 10. They're still end-game content though.

hence "at the moment". I also haven't condemned anything, merely responding to other people.

I think they were meant as 5 or 10 player dungeons -- 5 well-geared players or 10 endgame newbies. When Blizzard did cap the player limit for them a few months after launch, the cap was 10.

Even after the caps (1.3) they were 10-man, although you could do them with 5 if you weren't retarded (and you had to for quest credit). They were re-tuned for 5-man in patch 1.6 and capped to 5 in 1.10.

All the FPs are playable at level 50, and we do not know how many raids there are.

Only one has been announced, but I gotta think they have 1 or 2 more to pounce on us.

This. Rift at least matched it, and then added another raid and another raid rift in the first update.

Would anyone know what the value or interest would be in a mint (not new) Star Wars Galaxings Collector Edition would be worth or of interest to a SW fan? I was cleaning out a closet and forgot I had it packed away in a box. Everything inside is like new.

Better yet, just click Morn's name, select "View Public Profile", then click "Find all posts by Morn".

On another note, I switched my Amazon pre-order to standard shipping, just so it'd be delivered after Christmas. I'm on vacation for a week through Christmas and want to minimize the chances of having my crap stolen since it'd be sitting on my doorstep. Damn the December 20th release date.
