I got an invite to test this weekend too. Second weekend test I've been invited to. Last time the game ran like ass. Hopefully they've improved the framerate.

Just got an invite as well. I think I signed up for beta something like almost a year ago too?

At least it's over a long weekend. (Here in Canada at least!)

Well if i figure out the password, guess ill see if it runs on windows 8.

Edit: figured out the password. Typed it in and brought me to password reset screen....wtf is with this system.

You can install it on multiple computers, but they warn that they are monitoring the accounts and see if you are logging back and forth alot between many machines, they will get suspicious.

What's worse is that my copy of Dark Souls will be shipped to an older address and rerouted to newer one, which should take a week or two. Such is my luck...

hmm didn't some people say this is a huge dl? ive almost finished it and only started the dl 40 min ago. wrong files or something on my end???

I got a beta invite.

The launcher is fucking broken. I run the executable and nothing happens. Can't even download the game. I can see launcher.exe running in my Task Manager, but nothing beyond that happens when I try to run the game.

Great work Bioware.

Weird, the friends and family beta launcher doesn't have any of these issues. Maybe they're linking you to a faulty one.

you've probably only almost finished downloading a part of it

launcher has no issues for me

well i just finshed a 20gig dl. i know why it went fast now so never mind that. Set it to unlimited bandwidth, so its been dling at 6.5megs sec.

I don't actually want to install it on multiple computers. I'm at school so I just want to download it on my netbook and then transfer the install files if possible. IIRC, though it goes download->install then download->install for every file?

Last time I used 2 IPs to download anyways since I was switching between my fast connection and unlimited one at home. The file size is really just a killer. The game is like 1/4 of my monthly bandwitdh.

I've upgraded my PC massively since the last test. It ran like ass on my AMD piece of crap CPU from 2007 + a 4870, but now I get to see how an overclocked 2500k and GTX 580 fare.

*edit And just after hitting 85 on WoW, I'm going from high in WoW to high in TOR and back to high in WoW to continue seeing all the high end BGs stuff XD

QUESTION: I have a shitty connection at home for downloads, could I go to the uni and download the client there on an external drive and bring it back home? Mind you My user accnt at the uni doesnt have admin rights.

There's multiple threads on the Testing Forums about this issue.

I don't know what to say or do. All this time waiting for a shot at the beta....then I finally get in and the client is busted and I can't play. Fucking ridiculous - I wish I'd never been invited in the first place.

Unless they changed it in the last six months, no you can't do this. You run the game, and it then downloads, unpacks and installs in one go.

besides, I doubt your uni connection would have the ports open for the client anyway

What the fuck, BW? Problems with a beta? God dammit.

Oh well, at least I found this from this crazy thread called "Known Issues" on the official beta forum. It even mentions your problem! It's, like, the first one listed.

That issue is for people that can successfully run the game but cannot run it again due to the process not ending when they quit. The launcher never worked for me, even once.

As I said already, I've been to the Support forums and I've messed around with the Task Manager. Still nothing happens when I run the launcher, even as an Administrator. Currently I'm waiting on an email from tech support.
