Looks like you can only be a member of one guild at a time for now. I'll definitely join once they change that.
Yeah I know sucks but I think thats only going to last a couple phases...? I shall def be rolling on both sides and guilds.

In phase 2 we can align the guilds with/against each other so they're on the same server.

Wow this game is really starting to look amazing. The space combat actually seems in depth and polished and not just throw together.

Isn't space combat only limited to being on rails though? I feel that no amount of polish will make that fun :/

Rogue Squadron and Star Fox are 2 of my favourite space combat games ever and they're on rails. I don't necessarily think that it is a bad thing.

Great trailer, but still deep down am hoping for some decent 'announcements' from PAX, hopefully Bioware won't disappoint like usual!

The entire game actually look polished. It look far better in motion than I expected, but the true test was and will still be to be able to retain over 1 million subscribers (it's already a better game overall than Galaxies :p).

Wow, this has really come a long way in the past couple months, the amount of polish is pretty damn good. Now I just need to get a hardware upgrade so I can actually play it when it eventually comes out.

I know this sounds stupid, but I wish I could just play the story stuff in this through alone, solo, without any of the MMO aspects including the $15/mo fee. The fee is really a killer, there's no way I'm paying monthly for a MMO again.

Rogue Squadron isn't on rails.
Star Fox and Starblade Alpha are, and both of those are great.

I'm still looking forwards to this game. I will sign up for Empire-GAF once I get home from work.

I'll admit I was disappointed by the on-rails shooter aspect of space combat, however as long as it has allowed them to make a better ground game then it was probably a wise decision. They can always overhaul the space combat later. What I wonder right now is if its optional, what sort of rewards might you be passing up for skipping it?

I'm probably going for an Imperial Agent.

KOTOR is my favourite game of all time, and I'm so excited to just play this for the Jedi and Sith solo quests, but I really wish they'd announce a Mac version. Worst comes to worst I will just play it through Bootcamp but I'd love a native Mac version.

Looks to run a whole lot smoother now than previous demos, the UI also seems more complete looking too.

Also really nice to see that they got in the close combat animation synching working now as you can see when two close combat units battle that they actually animate the blades striking against each other like they used to in the KOTOR games when you had close combat.

I would have joined GAF guilds but PVE? I'll have to pass
It can always be changed before the guilds are imported into the game, but it all depends on whether people would rather go PVP than PVE and im guessing most in here would go for the PVE.

Yep, I noticed that too. Very nice touch. The animations in general are also much smoother and more fluid now compared to previous builds.

The game has certainly reached a near launch level status. I have to image the delay is for tightening up weak areas etc

Course they could just be showing what they got ready. Looks like the engine is now running well and smooth though.

Yeah, I assumed most GAFers would rather a casual experience.

EA Mythic did a Mac client of WAR using Cider, and EA releases most of their big games on the Mac using Cider, so they're throwing subscription money away by not doing a Mac client at launch.

So MMOing with a little Star Foxing. I can live with that. And it looks to be shaping up good by the looks of things. Maybe see a Winter release?

I'm thinking early fall probably. I would hope for Summer just to get the game sooner, but I think they rather not release a big game in the Summer and rather get some big show buzz built up before release as well.

Hopefully before all the big console games come out. Guess we'll see. And I'm entirely going Bounty Hunter with this game. :D

Doubt they will have one at launch, they would have announced it already if they were. I would imagine it will be one of the top post-launch priorities, though.

I think End of August to end of september is a pretty safe bet. They get to blow their load at E3 and have their Big Beta influx then launch

So can we only join one guild at a time? Because I can't apply for GAF republic and GAF empire.

EDIT: Who just does insane damage to people? I just want to see health bars drop.

The Cider wrapper really takes little to no effort to implement. They could have one for launch, and ship for PC/MAC like Blizzard does for WoW, but they seem to be uninterested in potential subscription numbers from a platform with only a couple MMO competitors (WoW, EVE, and WAR).

Right now you can only do one at a time. You'll be able to do more at launch.

For the new page:

Republic Guild
Empire Guild

No European guild yet.

We can wait and see how well it runs in CrossOver games. I can run Guild Wars fine on my Macbook.

Seems weird that you can't join two pre-launch when there's two factions.
