Why is the texture quality on so much of the armor so terrible?

Do you think Sith Sorcerer will be easyish to play in random world solo PVP? My main (who will lead NeoGAF Empire) will be either Inquisitor or Agent. Leaning towards Inquisitor as as an Agent i'd go Sniper/Marksman who seems to be more of a team player. And leaning towards Sorcerer as i inted to play "Mostly Dark Side" Inquisitor and as dark sider i cannot use blue or green color crystals for double bladed lightsaber.

I kinda stopped taking this security question stuff seriously a long time ago. Never needed to make use of it. Bioware definitely asked for trouble by requiring it to play.

I hope this is somekind of bug. My Scoundrel also has some stuff that looks like WoW 2004 stuff. Terrible.

so when they asked you to use security questions for you account YOU WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION WHEN YOU FILLED THEM OUT?

and are now blaming bioware because you can't access your account?

I was playing a reasonable amount of attention. I chose the most unambiguous questions I could and inputted the answers that came most forcefully to mind. I didn't screencap or write down the answers, because for most services that's not worth the hassle. After all, every single company on the internet requires these questions only when one forgets a password, and I did have that bit of information stored in my records (it would shock me, incidentally, if more than a minority of people in this thread saved the answers in a separate document or screencapped it themselves). Bioware, however, decided to change the customarily accepted use of secret questions to make them significantly more important than they usually are, without any indication that they were doing so.

In the American legal system the standard for negligent behavior is failing to take the precaution that an ordinary person exercising an average amount of prudence would exercise in similar circumstances. Almost every product is safe

A well-designed login system doesn't monopolize and ultimately make inaccessible customer service lines.

Lemme tell ya something about 1vs1. It's not about the class. It's about the player. My Vanguard is lvl 22 right now. I've probably won 95% of my 1vs1 matches easily. It's all about knowing what abilities to use and when really. As for grouping with friends in the PvP world, consider yourself godlike. ;)

From reading the beta boards, it seems like Sorcs are really underpowered later on, they have the most utility & CCs of any class but very low dps late game. That said, their CC can make them quite a bitch to deal with in pvp :)

Also, has this been posted yet? New Jedi Consular progression video. Sage definitely has the most eccentric robes...

O wow, it seems like they've pulled my beta forum access (weekend tester), lame :/

So you weren't paying attention.

The game runs smooth for the most parts, the cinematic's are smooth...

However, I can't even fucking talk to an NPC 90% of the time and when I manage to get into a dialogue with the guy he takes a year to respond.... and there are times where he just disappears from the screen....

I so was hoping I could test this game out this weekend but I can't unfortunately...

And you know what else is weird, when I make a message in the general chat it takes like 30 mins before I see it appear, and yet all the people are just talking quickly to each other in real time(I mean I see messages pop up continuously before mine ever pops up)...

I want to blame it on my machine because if that was the problem than I can feel at ease, I just have to run the game on a better machine at launch....

You do know that Blizzard tried unique abilities for different faction Priest's in WoW?
They ended up first giving some for both factions and finally abolished the notion completly. Paladin and Shaman were given to both factions as well.

TOR won't have different abilities for different factions. You make unique abilities, everyone is crying that they need the other ability as well and theorycrafters end up proving one ability is more useful than the other...

Maybe it's my lack of experience with faction based MMO's but Warhammer, while they had mirrored classes, had more variety. It's not a huge complaint, just a minor annoyance really. I just hope one day there will be enough variance.

EDIT as for the graphics, WoW looks (well, the newer zones do anyway) pretty nice (IMO) still. Cartoonish style ages better and lasts longer. I like the graphics a lot, have liked them since the first images (which, BTW, look a lot worse than current graphics).

I'm spoiled by FFXIV :)

EDIT2 as for the "lightsaber" stickking through the lekku... it's a vibroblade and you won't have the issue once you get your lightsaber as that hangs from the belt. I'm amazed twi'leks are even playable species due the lekkus and them causing clipping issues...

Ok good. Yeah the clipping is going to be interesting. Hope it somehow gets resolved.

In Cad's defense, on the security questions page, it says, "these answered may be required to login under the following conditions:
-logging from a different location/pc
-suspicious activity on account".

Neither one of these was applicable to me and they still locked me out. Even though I answered five questions, they only showed the same one everytime i tried to log, why not cycle the questions?

Well I finally got through customer service, and I realized why I didn't remember my answer to "your favorite activity". I probably thought I was cute when I typed in it. It was hilarious listening to the rep's reaction once he saw it, and even better when he had to spell it back to me letter-by-letter. I'm thinking of making up some more answers just so I can call and fuck with them.

oh god my bank account is low :/

gotta see if i can change my digital deluxe pre-order into a normal edition one...

The price difference is only $20. You can make that up in a month. Mow somebody's lawn or shovel their driveway if you're all snowed in.

I really wish the quests weren't so damn bland. It would be nice if friendly NPCs were more involved in quests besides just servicing as conversation buttons. The game uses a technique similar to what Blizzard calls "phasing" in World of Warcraft, but it doesn't do anything interesting with it, at least from what I've played so far.

think i'm gonna cancel my pre-order and buy the game when i have the money

if i get to keep early access i might be able to not have a gap in play time

gonna use my remaining money for gas and mario kart

Well, thats the beta for me, work tomorrow and its over by the time I'm back home.

Definetly playing sith side on lauch, doubting between knight or agent. I might do both, that way I can have a tank and healer class, at least I think so.

Just need a nice EU pvp server now... I hope I get in 5 days before launch.

I got a Bounty Hunter up to Level 15. I wanna keep playing but I feel like I'm just going to make the first few days of live more boring if I keep burning through all this content, so I guess I'm gonna try the other classes before the beta shuts down.

So, I'm clearly entering the right password, but the launcher keeps telling me that something is incorrect. Anyone else run into this?

EDIT: That's the message you get if you haven't accepted the invite email. Oh Error Messages.

Is it possible to travel to another starting planet at level 1? I'm wanting to play with some friends but it kind of sucks having to get through the opening class quests to get to them...

No you have to stay on the starter planet until level 10 when you can then go to the fleet and on to DK/Coruscant. Then you have to wait until 16 or so until you get your ship to go to another planet.

Did a bit of Coruscant today and really hope this is somekind of lowpoint of the questing experience. Bland would be an understatement.

I know a lot of people hate Taris, but I don't really understand why. I think it has sa pretty cool, unique aesthetic.

It's Nar Shaddaa that I hate.

It is nothing special. Got to lvl 10. Standard fare MMO questing with some talking. Playing Jedi Consular and most of the quest have literally been go in a cave, kill like 15 guys, make a left and talk to someone. This would have been much better if it followed the path of DDO and not WoW.

The problem with Nar Sha is that it feels like you just did it. It's so damn similar to Coruscant that everything just melds together.

I'm hoping that the case too. I go on vacation on the 23rd and won't be back until after the New Years. I'm not going to use my starter month for 3 days of play time. If early access carries me over until I leave then that would be great, otherwise I'll just pick the game up when I come home.

Anyone else getting the "Certificate authentication failed. Please re-install to correct the problem" error? I had been playing for a couple of hours before it popped up. All the links I can find say to either use an update from windows, which seems to do nothing, or change the time on your PC, which also isn't working for me.

Got vsync to work finally, but still no AA. I can't play with it this jaggie. I know its a beta, but still.

Nvidia people can force it, but ATI users can't?

I permanently banned my 6 year old daughter from using the PS4 for mistakenly sending grief reports as it's too hard to watch or talk to her
So, I've been playing since the weekend started as soon as the stress test servers opened, to the point I've really not had much sleep & rest, but I'm think I'm done now and will miss out on the last 12-16 hours or so.

Played an IA up to level 10, and am gutted that I hated the cover mechanism as I'd really planned on going Smuggler at launch, not gonna happen now. Tried a Jedi Consular up to about level 8 but found the class quests a bit sickly and too goodie-two-shoes for me, seems to be a little less latitude for the light/dark options with Jedi compared to Sith.

So rolled a Sith Inquisitor and loved, loved, loved the whole story arc, Went Assassin and didnt look back, got up to level 16, got my ship (my main goal for the weekend) and felt that was a great stopping point.

Graphics performance was great considering I'm running a creaky 4870, but damn did it make my gfx cards fans scream like no other game ever has (Even BF3), suffers from a bit of Mass Effect low-rez texture popup (Brief, but noticeable) and some low quality textures overall, but the style disguises some of that IMO, and whilst initially skeptical I found the KOTOR/Clone Wars inspired styling works well, some scenes are just are drop dead gorgeous if you can get past the previous mentioned texture issues.

One bug I suffered from badly on Friday night was related to the way the area instancing/phasing works (or didnt work) - spent maybe 2 hours tring to get a group together for a Heroic 2+ but had to give up, switching to an instance that other group members were in just... wouldn't... work. It would attempt to switch me/others, fail, but then still use up the fast travel cooldown so that person would find themselves locked to an area phase. I wasn't the only person that suffered this, evidently, as after a while the General chat channel started to see messages like: "LFG - Armed and Dangerous, must be in Korriban (5)!" and others had reported the same switching failures/issues. (And auto-switch to groupmembers phase/area also didnt work).

This was fixed by Saturday though, so hopefully it was just an issue flagged by the numbers playing over the stress test.

All in all I loved it, in many ways it is an MMOSPG (Mass Multiplayer Online Single Player Game :p), but seems to have got the best of the MMO and Single player experience rolled into one.

I still wish it was an old school, community driven Sandbox MMO instead of Theme Park, but they just don't seem to be in vogue anymore. One day an MMO will be released that has all the scope of a Sandbox / Community driven MMO with the questing and tailored experience of a Theme Park MMO and it will rule them all. SW:TOR won't be it though, but it's a good stepping stone.

I'll be Sith when on live, and the weekend HAS sold me on the game, warts and all.

I entered my preorder code yesterday and got that lightsaber crystal bonus attached to my account. Today, while playing during my weekend beta, I noticed that I got mail in game giving me the item. If I take this item from the mailbox now, will I still be able to get it when the game launches? I'm guessing the characters we made during this beta won't carry over right?
