Yea it's not really a race, but there are lots of cyborgs in the universe.

I thought most Mirialans looked like Luminara and Barriss Offee, but this Fortris Gall character in the webcomic looks quite different.
I guess I'll consider a Mirialan Jedi Knight..

I'm sure that different skin shades/colors and markings will be character creation options for the race.

As a race no, but Darth Vader and Grievous are per definition cyborgs. If you look up the lore you can find arguments to support that these cybernetic implanted humanoids could infact be thought of as another race:
Cyborg also referred to creatures that were half-organic and half-droid. They were generally regarded as "soulless abominations".
[...]
Such cyborgs were not considered citizens under Imperial law, which required surgery to be sponsored by a corporation or government.

Also there's a whole section on Cyborg Species at Wookiepedia (scroll down past famous cyborgs).

I hope they stick to the cybernetic implants and don't replace them with a new class.

Does anyone subscribe to the SW:TOR podcast on iTunes? I am going to give a listen to this weeks to see if it's any good. Listening to the Gbomb cast talking about TOR has be excited.

There's a TOR podcast? Cool. If it's good, it's yet another podcast to make work a little less dull.

EDIT: Which one? I'm getting a lot of results.
EDIT 2: Screw it, download them all!

The best TOR podcasts imo are Gamebreaker.tv's The Republic, TOROcast and the Darth Hater Podcast. I listen/watch to all three every week without fail and they are great :) certainly makes the wait for this game a lot easier!

If you have to pick one podcast, then go for Mos Eisley Radio (MER). One of the members just left to work for BioWare Austin. It's the closest you get to perfect - at least before he left. They've had some trouble since then (finding a new member, damaged equipment due to a fire). The last two editions have been sligthly different due to special guests, but give it a try, I doubt you'll regret it!

That's what I found. Will listen to it this week.

TOROcast is also decent but they tend to speculate on every news/dev comment. The show consists of 30% facts and 70% rumours and speculations. I must give them credit though for having studied the Star Wars lore - everything is based valid arguments and references to the SW universe.

Edit: MER is only facts.

I see. I wonder if a GTX460 will be enough to run this game @ max at a rez of 1680x1050. There is a huge possibility I may be building a brand new computer after having my current one for only 8 months. Thinking of converting my current rig to a HTCP/storage PC.

I would think that Card should handle things fine. Coruscant might be a system hog with all the enviroment and things going on but I cant see it being that bad to render a 460 obsolete

It's crazy that cards seem to be on a six month cycle now. The thing is I may be getting an IPS display so I would need something to drive 1920x1080.

Are IPS displays fast enough for gaming now?

They seem to be pretty good now. Im using a 32" LG TV for a monitor so moved away from the usual stuff.

I would think your card will be fine for awhile. TOR is meant to be scalable so shouldnt be awful. Ive been debating getting another 6950 for future proofing but Ive already gone above my usual gaming budget for the year in the first 4 months lol

Oh I know. Played WoW way too much before I outright deleted my characters, haha. My 460 barely runs Metro 2033 at high at 1680x1050. At worst, I can use my gtx460 as my dedicated PhysX card.

I keep asking myself how much I should put aside for a new PC.
Hope fully they'll update their standard response before E3:
It wouldn't be fair for us to announce something like the minimum PC spec, have people buy new machines, and then change it on them.

GTX 560 and Sandy Bridge i7 2600K suck it, nerf herders!
But my monitor sucks and can only go up to 1440x900 and I need a new one for cheap

Picking up a CM H 212+ and 2 more 120mm fans today to cope with the fact I just had to tow my car to the shop. It will be nice to get my processor from 2.66 to 3.8

For those interested in the stuff, the new book 'Deceived' was pretty darn good. It basically covers the events of the 'Deceived' CG trailer which takes place for about a chapter of the book, and then goes into all the events happening around it as well as mainly the aftermath and what went down with the Treaty of Coruscant.

I bought it on my Kindle last night and liked the first chapter. Good to know I didn't waste my money.

I was thinking of how to get into the Star Wars spirit before the beta. Hayden alone is enough reason to stay away from the movies, so it's either the books or the games - will give kotor a go very soon and maybe jedi academy just for the mp feel. If I find Deceived at a good price I might buy it!

Yea, the first novel 'Fatal Alliance' in the series was pretty meh I thought, but it has no connection to the other novels as these Old Republic books seem to be stand alone. Interested to see Drew Karpyshyn's Old Republic book coming this fall, his other SW books were great.

How much is the average lifetime subscription? Subscription fees usually make me freak out about not playing enough to justify paying and I get so stressed out I end up just canceling it. If I could spend a reasonable amount of cash all at once to give me peace of mind, I'll probably take it.

DCUO had like the lowest I believe at around $199, with others almost 300. Not really any standard for it has been seen.

$199 is the lowest? Never mind. Maybe if I'm still obsessed with the game a year from now I'll do that. Anything over $200 is too much for me.

Are MMO's still brave enough to offer these? ;)
I think Star Wars/KotOR has enough ''loyal'' fans to offer it.

I would jump at $200 for lifetime, that is basically 14 months worth of sub fees
I would pay $200 if I still love it after maybe 3 months or so. That would be cheap in the long run.

What about lifetime subscriptions?

I don't see why MMO publishers are so reticent to offer these. There are plenty of people who will say, "I'm going to play this game forever," buy a lifetime sub, and then forget about it after 3 months.

Just a heads up to the American audience, G4TV will be showing something on The Old Republic tomorrow night. As a European citizen, I'm counting on you to record and upload whatever content they might have in store for us!

Please don't make me watch G4... They'll put it up on their own site, right?
