Bioware doesn't condone leaks, but I'd recommend spoiler tag that list to be considerate for players who want to experience the game unspoiled.

Ah hell I'm putting it back up. I had removed it due to the fact that we were short on people still.
Syoaran's suggestion of going with Neogaf actually seems pretty logical to me. Agreed?

Guys, what have you done?! There was a reason we didn't link to that site anymore

Sorry, I really didn't know there was a reason people didn't link that site. T_T

I'm sure that is incomplete as a person can have up to 5 companions, so lot of them are missing it would seem.

No worries. I'm just trying to impress Speculator, so he might reward me with a beta invitation. Notice how I managed to mention my username in the very same post!

It is done!

NeoGAF has been founded. Get yourselves over to swtor.com and look for NeoGAF if you're looking to apply to our European guild!

Whoever leaked that pulled a dick move. That thread was assembled by testers to help other testers, and if stuff like that keeps leaking we might not be allowed to collate information anymore.

Also that list is not fully updated. It is not complete.

If they actually want people to test they need to tell you what the companions do/are etc... shouldn't have to scrounge for info scraps from other testers.

On the contrary it's probably helpful for them to see how effectively players can discover things for themselves. Lists like the one above are luxuries, and leaking them ruins it for everyone.

I agree, at this point people can just wait. I understand interest in gameplay mechanics, but everything else is lame.

Besides the regular updates I think i'm going to deprive myself of anything else. I'll probably get halfassed impressions and I'm just going to want more and more and more of an information fix.

We can't be that far along now anyways. Time to pour my time into recruiting for our lovely guild.

Already 3 strong! And we're not even all jedi knights! PM me or look us up at swtor.com to join NeoGAF.

Applied.

Problem is, I'm not even sure what the companions for Consular will be at the end. Or if healer end game is that necessary for what I want to do.

Jedi knight does look tempting...

Yeah, I myself plan to specialize in stealth/melee with the odd force bombs & buffs, I'm not going anywhere near healing tree's with my Consular. Shadow FTW!!!

Why are you so afraid of playing a Healer?

You're not locked into anything when you sign up for any class. As we'll get closer to launch I'm sure you've got more time to make a more educated decision. If you wanna change the class you're set up for now you can change it at the my account section, and then go to guild applications tab.

I had to look for that one for a bit.

The blatant leakers are really starting to get under my skin. We made a promise to Bioware not to reveal information in exchange for the opportunity to play the game a little early and help them out in the process. These people are just shameful.

I play healer too much in MMO's, I want to succeed in a new niche and I'm digging the Jedi Shadows EU back story. =D
I've played a healer in Cata for the past 6 months for the first time ever (played Mage for the 5 years prior). Soloing as a healer in WoW is an abysmal experience.

I think it's ok to say I have been playing Heal-spec'd Sage in TOR test. Bioware has added NPC companions for more than just story reasons. I don't want to say more than that. (I really hope that's not too far to get me banned. If so, it's been a great two weeks.).

Where is this EU backstory on Jedi Shadows? The Consular has the most incomplete public info of all all the base classes.

Thinking about signing up for the gaf Empire guild but I'm not thrilled about the game going Origin only.

Buuuut it seems like it's really good going from all the impressions. I could make a 1 time pass on my Steam exclusive rule.

There are comics(The Dark Forces Saga) showing the Jedi Covenant organization(where Jedi Shadows thrive). They operate like a secret organization, hidden and only reveal themselves to new members they're recruiting..

From what I've learned (mostly through Wookiepedia) is that the Jedi Shadow are a Jedi that focus to train as Sentinels.

They chase after dark artifacts and assassinate dangerous individuals. They walk the line between light side and dark.

And like in SWTOR, they usually wield double-bladed lightsabers....

I just really like the dark, mysteriousness of the Jedi Shadow and the Covenant they operate for.

It feels like an organization like the CIA. Its fucking awesome.

The prospect of being able to spec heals but have a companion that can do damage for me is really exciting. I like playing a healer but doing anything solo was really painful, and keeping up two sets of gear is a hassle.

So I can buy the the cd version of swtor (Hoping for a Special or Collectors edition) from a local retail store, open the case to see my cd-key and activate the key in origins so I dl the digital version thus not needing a cd to play the game!?

I think origin makes sense though. Why let others make profit off of your product when you need them to distribute your own stuff.

Besides, I can hardly imagine needing to install the game from origin besides patches if there is a cd inside the box? Isn't the website just there to validate your key?

This is the first time I've ever found myself excited for an MMO :D
Haven't seen much of proper gameplay yet though... anyone had a decent amount of time in testing yet? New as you've probably guessed, I don't want to go back through loads of pages to find info.

There are a bunch of videos, leaked videos and official E3 run throughs. I'm sure you can find something with a quick google search. ^_^

From my understanding they're trying to make Origin like Steam (a service instead of just a DRM program) so even if you buy retail you'll have to either make an account or use your current one to install it like with Steamworks games.

I guess for 1 game it's not a big deal. I've been craving a different MMO after I finally completely burned out of WoW after playing cataclysm

I really don't understand why there are so many questions about lightsaber colors. Maybe Im weird, but I just really dont care. Personally, I would totally rock a blinking neon pink lightsaber if that was the only option and be fine with it

Don't worry dudes, by this time next year EA will have abandoned Origins just like they always do with this kind of stuff. Just some middle management guy trying to make VP.

As I said the other day, much of it is inaccurate, which I think it does a real disservice to Bioware by giving people warped conceptions of what is and what isn't in the game.

If you want (mostly) accurate information and impressions, go take a look at the E3 videos and playthroughs that Bioware has allowed to be released. I think the Gametrailers Tatooine walkthroughs do a good job, despite the overly dramatic narrator. (Wow, that Sith Sorcerer "Seethe" animation is hilariously awkward).

I also don't really care about lightsaber colours but let me play devils advocate for a bit:

1) This MMO is played out to be the next game for the KOTOR series and in those games you had more options for lightsaber colours.

2) Lightsaber colours are an aesthetic customization, its shouldn't really affect gameplay.

3) I understand restricting black & red lightsaber colours to the dark side but what about the other colours? Purple? Orange? Teal? Sky Blue?(all in the Kotor series)....

Hell even Mace Windu had a purple lightsaber. Why can't I? So we can tell the difference between advanced classes?? Doesn't our lightsaber design and armor type do that sufficiently?????

Light/Medium armor robe + Saberstaff = Jedi Shadow
Light/Medium armor robe + Single Bladed = Jedi Sage

Heavy armor robe + Double Bladed = Jedi Guardian
Heavy armor robe + Single Bladed = Jedi Sentinel

.....

Animation issues? Animation issue's over colour?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Again, I'm just playing devils advocate, in reality its a stupid reason to be upset. Like you said, I'd play with a neon pink lightsaber.

Fonds

Member
There won't be much customization with colours anyway. A lightsaber is a lightsaber and a colour is a colour.

The only way you're really going to get another "look" for your lightsaber is with different hilt styles. Thats what i'm interested in tbh.

The conventional red, blue, green and orange colours are just fine as far as i'm concerned.

I doubt it. This isnt a flash in the pan for inferstructure, and they've been wanting to bring in their own digital rights and develop system for quite some time. With SWTOR coming up, it became the perfect time to set Origins up (probably amongst the same data clusters) and reduce cost by doing so.

Origins worth in the industry will be directly died to SWTOR's success at how well they can integrate perks and rewards from ordering directly from EA into SWTOR (like Valve do with TF2 hats for pre-orders).

Except you don't even need Origins on your Machine to play TOR.

I agree with you. With the 2 year strategy EA presented last week, I don't see them abandoning Origin any time soon. Now I just need them to acknowledge Europe and include us in their next "sale".

The only thing you get from ticking the newsletter is a newsletter and a reminder to sign up for the test.

On the Origin stuff. It is just a store guys. You will not need to have the app running to play the game (Reid at the official forums went at this specifically, so there was no vagueness).
