Hi guys and gals,

We have had both MS and Sony now show us what they're bringing to the next gen table.
We know the facts of both machines. It's not that hard to see the differences and which one has potential to perform X function better etc. This is a forum and we are allowed to voice our opinions on the matter since we're all here to enjoy our gaming hobby.
The issue at the moment is the rampant trolling in topics whereby some posters actually want to have a discussion discuss these next gen machines in depth. The PS5 related threads have become so bad and filled with so much troll posts that I have been put off by posting much.

If you're not interested in a console and have no plans to purchase one, please refrain from trolling because there are some of us excited about both consoles and wish to discuss the inner workings with more knowledgeable folk on the forum.

Anyone experiencing the same issues as i have? I think this is a valid topic in the light of how much this forum (for the past 2 days) has become a troll haven.
 
True. It is quite pathetic, but to be fair I think over the period of seven years a lot of anger has built up and the day has come (for a very loud minority of green troll posters) to unleash it all. Whether it is straight up trolling, snide remarks or even going down the propaganda route of faking disappointment in something they never had any intention of buying.

EDIT: I am quite excited about the PS5 after thinking about it some more. That SSD is gonna be awesome and I think that 100 games thing was just a misinterpretation. They meant that out of the top 100 games they tested, most worked, so most PS4 games will work. (I think that's what they meant)

What's annoying is every thread being derailed by a measly less than 20% difference in performance. If it was 40% like this gen i would sorta understand but it is way less than that.

Its 30 percent at worst, 15 percent at best (unless my math sucks, correct me if I'm wrong), right?

the variable frequency stuff is probably the source of most displeasure

OP how come you're bothered by that when we're getting fresh awful takes all day? People are making some masterpieces of denial on the fly to rationalize away the anal devastation unleashed upon the Playstation fanbase.
 
Its like i said before, this stuff goes in cycles. It was PS4 this gen, now its XSX. After the absolute bile this, and pretty much the whole gaming internet, has been in regards to Xbox this gen, well now its your cycle.
If you give it out, you have to take it. People never learn, it alwsys comes back to haunt you in the end.
 
Personally, I'm just enjoying the ride. "For what do we live but to make sport for our neighbors and laugh at them in our turn?"

The ones flaming and most being hurt by this are the folks who went hard in those "Which Next Gen Console will You Buy?" threads, pre-reveal.

It'll die down once we get through the five stages, and even gloating loses its appeal without fresh fodder. Hang in there.

Honestly, you guys do it to yourselves a lot of the time. The amount of times I've seen unprovoked pre-emptive persecution complex bullcrap is ridiculous.

People need to lighten up and pick their battles. We can all joke from time to time, this is just a hobby after all.

However if somebody is clearly hellbent on derailing a thread then call them out on it without being overly aggressive and crying about it. If somebody is misinformed then show them why using facts and without hurling insults at them. Too many times fanboys lack the maturity to actually have a discussion with others who might have a different view to them and that leads to them getting banned.

This is the time for Xbox fans to enjoy the current situation but some of them are still finding ways to get themselves removed from the forum. It's beggars belief.

I'm in agreement with the OP in that there should still be some threads where the level of discussion should remain at a high standard, but for the rest go for your lives and have fun without going too far. The moment we all take this place too seriously all the time is the moment its no longer enjoyable to post here.

Its 20~, the variable stuff is something i think is being misunderstood. Its more a change in how the whole system is designed from the standard console ways. Its kinda sorta like PSP where you can run the CPU and GPU at higher or lower frequency depending on if the game needs it, though it is not dynamic. We will just have to see in the long term.

Yes XSX is still more powerful than PS5 and always will be. Seem like i have to say that less i get attacked.

So your saying the PS5 is already a disaster? Nothing has turned. In fact, the PS5 will continue and lead the console market.

Hey i dont even own a console, but i used to buy both Xbox and Playstation, and i may be PC only now but i'm no master race guy, i still love the consoles, and with Xbox games coming to PC, i'm obviously interested in Xbox threads. Its been hell for me, not just on here to be fair, but its beyond tedious. Hopefully now the other side will realize that, and things will be more united going forward. No chance of that though.

I've seen far more Sony defense force coming out hailing ssd as the new almighty god than Xbox fans shitting up ps5 threads.

When the x1 and ps4 launched the narrative was that power was most important. This was when the x1 had better and more exclusives. Then once Sony started pumping out great exclusives and the x1x was announced, the narrative switched to being all about games. Now that Microsoft has amazing services, fantastic backwards compatibility, the most powerful hardware and a large and growing list of first party studios the narrative switches to the speed of the ssd drive being most important. It would be annoying if it wasn't so funny and desperate.

It was well deserved. The og xbone was shit. The messaging was shit. The forced Kinect, weaker console for $100 more, was shit. The OS was very sluggish and shit. Add to that all the bullshit misterxmedia and co trolling. It was very, well deserved.

But now, MS have their messaging fixed. Sony still after what devs want and making development easier. Both after gaming and gaming only. So why is there trolling?

Lol I still remember 7 years ago the bangers and ruthlessness I know cause I was dishing it out, too fun and easy to pass up, doing it again now and am enjoying it.

The way I see it, if you can dish it out you should be able to take it.

Personally I love the spins and the 5 steps you guys are going through. It's going to be a long generation for Sony boys this time around 😂
 
I think both sides have nothing to argue about because if the Coronavirus turns out to be as bad around the world as it was in China then these consoles won't be launching.
 
The funny thing is that this isnt even comparable to how Don Mattrick shat the bed last gen, however these Sony fanboys have been doing mental gymnastics to underplay the beat they were dancing to last gen (power) that I am enjoying seeing the xbox fans trolling

Sony fans went into full-blown damage control when it wasn't even needed.

The specs are fine and the games will look/run almost identical to Series X.

This shit is funny honestly. We're you not in the next gen speculation threads? When Sony tweeted they were gonna reveal the ps5 there were pages of song fanboys talking shit saying " xbots are clearing their post history" or " GitHub believers are retarded etc.

IMO most people here were asking for this shit. Now half of them are nowhere to be found while the other half is asking people to take it easy on them.

Whats even more funny is that they really take it personal and look at them all contradict what they have been concentrating on the whole time. Thats why I intend on toying and shitting on them for fun even though I'll be a day one owner of PS5. But still, its fun watching pathetic people switch what they talk about every now and then
 
I agree that we should have better discussions, but it was expected to end like this, or at least for the first moment.

Honestly many big gaming forums have a noticeable number of pro active Sony fanboys who kept rooting against the Xbox One at everything, even when it were good things, wishing to Microsoft to quit the market and then joking at anyone who believed in the Github leaks. As it was said by the folks above, its now your turn. To make things worse, I even saw people PC and Nintendo gamers saying that they were hoping that the XSX would be more powerful to embarass the fanboys who annoyed them.
