Trolls will always be there, it's just that at the beginning of new-gen it spawns more than normal, and when you take the fact the internet is growing year by year, there are just more idiots to populate the forums. But, I genuinely don't understand why it's so difficult to scroll past them? It shouldn't be affecting you, if you want to engage in a serious discussion, you can still quote the posters and continue from there on. If there are few troll posts in between, who cares?

This isn't specifically aimed at you OP, but, there are way too many who take this stuff way too seriously. Between the constant calls for banning and what not, I sometimes wonder, what it'll accomplish? You're just removing them away from a platform which you cannot fully control, they can find a way to drop back in. So chin up, this stuff happens at beginning of every gen, and eventually it will die down. Be happy that you are getting two very powerful consoles, and depending upon your preferences, either or both will make a good choice. No amount of trolling should be affecting your decision making or said enjoyment of that product.

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy two consoles again this generation. Will have to see how the 3rd party titles play out between the two. I'm PS5 day 1 for the games but if the difference is like Pro and X than I will be buying the XSX also. However, people have to realise that at the end of the day both these machines probably output Native 4K at 60fps easily. Any more frames than that and you probably have to upgrade your TV anyway if playing on TV. Food for thought!

Yes you are. It's not running better settings than a PC on Insane. Some of the settings are turned down from PC settings. The 2080Ti is still faster.

I don't know why they are giving the demo way too much praise imo. It's basically a 2080. Any performance enhancements they make would also be patched into the PC version.

I fully agree, but in fairness it isn't just xbox fans. Because people are so sensitive about the playstation 5, you can't even discuss the true revealed facts regarding things such as the variable clock speeds and not getting anger directed at you by some fanboy who doesn't like you calling it out. How can you possibly discuss PS5 without discussing the very real possibility that the GPU in a much more demanding game, will likely not be performing at 10.28 teraflops, but instead something lower?

Yes, I'm hyped to hell and back about the Xbox Series X's Velocity Architecture and what features like Sampler Feedback Streaming means for games that take advantage of it, and how games will be designed to make the best use of it. I now believe Hellblade 2 is totally possible on Series X. I'm excited and hyped to hell and back about that beast of an SSD inside the PS5. The shit is so insane that there doesn't even exist a proper or suitable substitute for it right now on PC, and it may be a while yet before one appears. How games will be designed around this monster by Sony's insane studios is something I can't wait to see. God of War Studio, Insomniac, Naughty Dog. For Series X, 343, Playground Games, Coalition, Ninja Theory, Obsidian and so many more on both sides.

I'm a big PlayStation fan (until Dreamcast 2), realistic Nintendo fan, PC fan, and was an absolute hardcore Xbox fan until my 360 had it's 3rd RRoD issue within 2 years. These threads are part of the fun. You scroll past the crap and find the technical stuff you want to talk about. Or troll back better than them like making fun of the TwinkleFLOPS they don't even understand. That's my GAF mission in life currently.

We have had both MS and Sony now show us what they're bringing to the next gen table.
We know the facts of both machines. It's not that hard to see the differences and which one has potential to perform X function better etc. This is a forum and we are allowed to voice our opinions on the matter since we're all here to enjoy our gaming hobby.
The issue at the moment is the rampant trolling in topics whereby some posters actually want to have a discussion discuss these next gen machines in depth. The PS5 related threads have become so bad and filled with so much troll posts that I have been put off by posting much.

If you're not interested in a console and have no plans to purchase one, please refrain from trolling because there are some of us excited about both consoles and wish to discuss the inner workings with more knowledgeable folk on the forum.

The irony in all this was I was going to get the Ps5 on launch and Xsx later but now im not so sure. Considering the Ps4 launched at $400 then the Pro at the same price 3 years later.

So if its lets say $599 then the pro is the same price 2 or 3 years later, you screw yourself.

I rarely participated in the speculation thread. Im not a pc guy so im also not too privy to all the spec details. I learned more from reading on here.

I have had no horse in the race. Sony has some amazing games with 1.8 tf on base Ps4 so 9 - 10tf is going to be more than enough. But I'll be lying if I told you I am not enjoying the meltdowns from all the fanboys who were shitposting every single thread up until the spec were unveiled lol.

Console joking is really no different than being on a sports forums and people trashing each other for kicks about each person's fav team and players. It can be argued it's even worse for sports fans because every year there is only one winner and some teams haven't won a championship in decade. Some never won once.
