Maybe an announcement is due soon, otherwise they're still planned to ship Oct 16 and this is just routine.
That would be awesome; got my emails for my 2 controllers and my steam link. I really can't wait to get my hands on them

Just got my email confirming my shipping address for October 16th.
I wish I had decided I wanted the link early on, but its only another 3 weeks afterwards.
GAF at large has treated this controller with probably the highest level of wilful ignorance I have seen on this forum, and that's saying something.
So no archive? :'(
Everyone is igorant until it's in their hands. Some healthy skepticism is warranted.GAF at large has treated this controller with probably the highest level of wilful ignorance I have seen on this forum, and that's saying something.
Four! Which is actually very exciting!
After setting it up properly, I prefer it over my PS4/360 controllers with Rocket League.
No. Valve didn't want a controller attempting to charge non rechargeable batteries.
Indeed, but some of that skepticism comes in the shape of "controllers are already perfect."Everyone is igorant until it's in their hands. Some healthy skepticism is warranted.
Sounds likes there's a chance they'll start shipping at the beginning of Oct then. I certainly won't complain.
how do I archive a stream?
how do I archive a stream?
k, so it won't retroactively archive my games?
I'm about to start livestreaming in a bit.
How will this controller handle Source mods like GoldenEye Source? That mod is not on the official Steam Store, but I have it added to my Steam library.
I just hope that I can use every function of the controller like it was an officially supported game.
What functionality/ if any will I be missing for games not officially supported?
None at all. You can have all functionalities in any application. It doesn't even need to be a game. You can have full Steam Controller mapping and settings in the Google Chrome, for instance.
Stream is up http://www.twitch.tv/krejlooc
As long as I load it up or add it in Steam correct?
That's awesome. I hope I can somehow load Origin games through Steam like Titan Fall and Star Wars Battlefront. I really want to try those games to see how they feel with full controller functionality. That's right. Without running the game through Steam you can still have the default bidings and settings if Steam is running on the background but you can't configure it.

You can. Krejlooc was playing Titanfall on the stream last night.

Are there many published profiles up on steam yet for the controller Krejlooc?
Are you publishing yours as well? I will be interested in your MGS V profile.
I've been publishing everything I do. Thus far, there are only a tiny amount of online profiles, given the limited number of people with a controller.
Is there a voting system for profiles? I have to imagine there are going to be some crap ones eventually.
Didn't Valve basically say that the voting works by simply using a profile? So using a profile gives it a vote and not using it takes it away. Also that the one that has the most votes, ie. is used the most, becomes the default profile for that game?
I just got mine in the mail tonight. I was one of the Beta members. I'm the guy that ended up talking for a few minutes at Steam Dev Days about the controller.
I didn't have much of a chance to play with it. Mainly setting it up and putting it away.
I don't love the glossy finish. The matte beta controller felt nicer, even though it looked unfinished. I think I was willing to overlook the lack of finish on a controller I received over 18 months ago. Today, I don't love the feel of it. Here's the best proof I can provide at the moment (https://twitter.com/trialbygame), but I think some of you might remember me.
When I was playing with the Beta controller (mine broke after a few months of use,) one of my favorite games to play with it was Super Hexagon. Using the back paddles, or the touch pads to control both felt great and somewhat intuitive. I was kind of excited to try that tonight, and I wasn't impressed. The back paddles are harder than I remember (I'll try to confirm this in the next day or two.) and feel a little stiff for me.
The process of setting up the controller was fine, though I don't love the new typing interface. I had been a fan of the old input system, but I'll see how I feel once I've had a few days or weeks to get used to something new. I had a slight bug with some unexpected haptic feedback while typing, but hopefully that will be fixed before release (or maybe it's just a problem with my device.)
Inserting and removing the batteries was unintuitive and I ended up slamming my fingers into the case quite hard.
If anyone's interested, I'll probably go over all of this in a video in the coming week. I've graduated from law school, so I'm working regular hours and will have less time to stream and demo the controller, but I'll try to get something up. I've stayed a lurker on NeoGAF for a couple years now, but when I have something a little more exclusive, I always try to come here and share.

steam controller firmware update makes it usable with windows 10 login and added dpad control in steam big picture.. my two biggest gripes!!

Oh hey, looking forward to that vid! Can't you change back to the old one? There was supposed to be a toggle for that.
