Yeah, that the game is unlikely to truly be HL3 is two-pronged:
- Left 4 Dead 3's subs didn't leak and it's much further along, and
- The app is far too recent for something that has been in on again/off again development since at least 2006 (Episode Three is old enough to fit within the 0-890 range Valve seemingly reserved for itself, I'd imagine)
I wouldn't be surprised if Valve now develops games using an entirely separate branch of Steam, complete with its own database, precisely to prevent unannounced projects being leaked thanks to oversights like this.

When I saw the app, I thought about it like this: they (might have) finished development and are moving in for the final push, adding an app on Steam, doing whatever testing they want to do with the Steam integrated, etc.
I agree that might be unicorns in the sky, though (and a separate internal version of Steam is completely possible, and even likely).

Yeah, it's just weird that Valve themselves got leaked from their own database. At least the other leaks are still safe, except a couple Sony games like Dreams and Journey which are doubtful.
There's a contradiction right there though.
So will stuff be cut or not?

The way I understand it, there is no contradiction. There's lots of stuff, so even with multiple parts some of it will be cut. Without multiple parts, they'd have to cut way more.

What WILL be cut is quite vague. I think you can rule out on gameplay/quests being cut, instead it's possible some story elements might be cut as it is a remake and newer ones would be added instead? That's just my opinion though.

Just finished Her Story in one sitting, took about 4 hours and got all the achievements, it was an interesting game, the story stuff had some cool twists and stuff I didn't expect. I really would like more games like this, a mix of this, Contradiction and Papers Please style gameplay would be a really cool thing.

It's easy to pick up but mastering it will take a while.
The Systems aren't that difficult to figure out though.
Do note that you will spend your meter, not on super moves but for canceling specials and attacks to keep the pressure on.
GG series have a mainstay system where the lower your health, the less damage you take from attacks.

Because people (like me) don't want take out 70 for each part, since FFVII was a single game, even if each part is 20 hours long or so (so the same lenght of today's single player titles).
It's a crappy thing to do, and SE is doing it because:
-FFVII was a long game, around 70-80 hours in order to see all the content
-they use this so they can split the game into several titles and selling them
Of course this is my assumption, but they talked about "multi-part series", not an episodic game, so I believe each game will be full price.
I'm personally having the time of my life arguing against people defending every utter shit from the og game, like: eeeeeeh how dare they call it FF7 without the ATB, they don't want to preserve its historic value, bad Square bad.
People are crazy indeed.

Umh, I don't think its a gameplay related thing (in that case I'd agree with you), just to milk much money out of fans.
But even the episodic thing, can be both bad or good.
At first I thought it was a bad thing, because you know, an RPG inevitably brings with itself so many things, like farming, grinding, backtracking, harassing chocobos and flying around the world in your cool spaceship. All things that most likely will be lost in an episodic approach.
But if you think about it, FF7 is basically an RPG on rails, where you arguably don't really need to backtrack anything (except if you have fun waiting for ATB bars to reload), so going full-episodic can also mean a much needed streamlining of the game in favour of the actual story - which I guess is what we all loved about the game - padded out with some cool, flash and most importantly FAST fights.
