In Chapter 2 of the Witcher 2 and struggling with the motivation. Not feeling the gameplay.

I got to beat this and then apparently beat most of it again before the Witcher 3 super-ultimate-complete edition arrives.

I'd look at it the other way around.

15-20 minutes per ticket sounds reasonable. It includes the time one has to check the ticket, access the data and then follow the path of an item across a chain of trades (or several paths across several chains), determine which accounts are legitimate and which are fake and then arrive at the end. Then you have to replace the items and ban all the other accounts on the way.

So, let's go with your assessment of 20 minutes per ticket. With 2567 tickets per day, that's about (2567 x 20) / 60 which gives you 855 man hours per day. That's 107 people working non stop for 8 hours a day to solve it. Assuming 100% efficiency and at a minimum wage of ~$10 per hour (which is probably not a good guess), it will cost them $8500 a day = $250,000 a month = 3 million dollars a year. Just to deal with compromised accounts. Not any other part of Steam support. Just hacked accounts.

The actual figure is probably higher. And while it's still a drop in the bucket for Valve, I can't imagine any company would be happy to basically have to throw away 3 million dollars a year on stupid things like this. Not to mention how it could conflict with their work culture and all that jazz.

That's why I think it's pretty significant that they've revealed this figure of 77k accounts lost per month. It's the first time we actually see what kind of load Steam support lives under. And while it doesn't excuse the screenshots we often see where support gave an utterly irrelevant copy-pasted answer to a problem, it does start to explain why that might be happening.

Fudge me. Four Kings on NG+ are giving me a solid ass whopping. Once I finish the first one off, three others already spawned and demolish me.
They were already a hurdle on NG but I tanked them and had high-powered pyromancy. None of that is helping much on NG+ though.
Already had most retries of all bosses but always died at or immediately after first king. Gulp, this might be the end.
