I've played through it like 10 times the last few years and it never gets old. :lol
Painkiller runs in the Doom -> Serious Sam vein. Buy it.
Warrior Within is fucking terrible oh my god.duffey said:Fuck I found more money that I could spend and picked up the Prince of Persia pack. If nothing else I'll enjoy the original trilogy as I've been wanting to go through that again for awhile. I'm not finding the new game really all that bad but it definitely holds your hand in a lot of places but omg so pretty.
To be honest I never really played the original trilogy for the story/settings so the whole angst thing doesn't quite bother me much although I will definitely concede that I'd much rather have the Sands of Time art style. In any case all three games play pretty well so that's a plus.TheOneGuy said:Warrior Within is fucking terrible oh my god.
I knew about the whole angst thing going in, but I figured it would still at least be a decent game. What the fuck is with this slutty bitch with twin swords argh. HATRED. SEETHING HATRED.
Sands of Time is still the coolios, though. Hope Two Thrones is better than Warrior Within.
LovingSteam said:So I need some advice. I am trying to buy all of the games on Steam during this sale that I would regret not buying afterwards. What do you think of the following:
Painkiller Gold
Runaway, A Road Adventure
Pacific Storm
ARMA
X2- The Threat
Aquaria
Defense Grid: The Awakening
Crazy Machines pack
Spore
Also, I am trying to decide if I should spend $50 on those games (the best of those that add up to $50) or just not buy any of those and purchase Mirrors Edge when it comes out on Steam in a couple of weeks.
Your advice please!

If you launch from Civ4, you get Civ4 without the BTS changes. If you launch Civ4: BTS, you get that. Warlords is ... kind of useless, unless you care about scenarios. BTS includes all of the changes that Warlords did.NameGenerated said:Quick question, for the Civ IV complete pack, how does the launching work? Is it just one launch or are the expansion packs separated?
I'm not talking about the story or art style. Thus far I've spent about 80% of the time fighting and 20% doing what I actually want to do in a Prince of Persia.duffey said:To be honest I never really played the original trilogy for the story/settings so the whole angst thing doesn't quite bother me much although I will definitely concede that I'd much rather have the Sands of Time art style. Sorry, I totally misinterpreted what you said. Yeah I agree, there's way too much combat in that game and if I remember right the ratio of combat/exploration is a little better in the Two Thrones but I could be wrong.TheOneGuy said:I'm not talking about the story or art style. AND THAT STUPID WHORE. Why am I fighting her again. Why is it the exact same fight.
And why did they change the way counters worked from Sands of Time -> Warrior Within.
Worst sequel ever. ):

Joseph Merrick said:armed assault is pretty much my favourite game ever now. it's fantastic. not sure if you can apply the beta patches on the steam version though.. it's fine to play on 1.14 aswell, but the 1.15 beta patch improves quite a few things.
oh also no idea how big the american online community for it is. this is pretty important.
LovingSteam said:I heard that it really is different than most shooters. That it is more about patience then continual action like a COD series. Have you found this to be the case? Also, do you think its worth it to get this when the sequel is coming this year?

Sinatar said:That's absolutely the case. Arma is trying to simulate actual combat, not put you in an action movie.
Stop before you start insulting Doom. There's nothing worse than a thread full of pissed off FPS fans. But yeah, if you don't like any of those you probably wouldn't be interested in Painkiller either.Compass said:De-sold. I've never been so bored than when trying to play through Serious Sam Gold.
heh. I couldn't live without arma right now, but I'm sure you could. but definitely get arma2, whatever you do. hehe.LovingSteam said:I heard that it really is different than most shooters. If you're looking for a single player experience, then don't. They completely failed in this respect, even the expansion Queen's Gambit was weak. The multiplayer however is absolutely unmatched as both a co-op and vs other people game. Simply incredible.LovingSteam said:How do you think they pulled it off Sinatar? I am not used to that type of game so I really don't know.

Heh. Doubt this will make any difference whatsoever for the PC release. At least they made a better in-game interface and menu system for the game now.ghst said:i'm torn on whether to buy this or wait on arma 2. their desire to make the sequel multiplatform certainly doesn't bode well for a game as...well...pc as arma.

Maybe I was the only person to enjoy the xbox operation flashpoint also hehe
Baloonatic said:Is the campaign in Company of Heroes any good?
Yeah, the American campaign had its very highs and very lows and the Panzer campaign was kind of a snore. So far the Brit campaign seems very promising though.TouchMyBox said:it's okay, the main course is the multiplayer though.
