ModBot should be back up. The VPS I was putting it on uses CentOS, which has Python 2.4 installed natively, and you can't upgrade to Python 2.7 because that breaks Yum, CentOS's pathetic excuse for a package manager, which means you need to install Python 2.7 in parallel by doing your own compilation, which is fine except you need to track down all the dependencies, which isn't easy since the package manager can't do it for you. Then I needed to install pycurl for the moderation side of ModBot, which is dependent on a version of curl not available on CentOS, so I had to install that myself, and then I needed to go down the rabbit hole trying to correctly match versions of SSL libraries to make pycurl and the separately installed version of curl play ball with one another. Why does CentOS suck so much?
Expect a few minutes for ModBot to catch up with the backlog.
Anyway, the short version is, ModBot should be back up.
And it's running on a VPS, so I can shut my desktop computer down during the move.

I've found your perfect job at Valve. Instead of them having Commentary Nodes in what ever game the do next they could have Saoirse Facts where you* pop up every now and then and offer titbits of knowledge and facts about Steam and all the goings on. yikes, looks like a bit of a linebreak mess by switching OSes. I'm not sure if this is just going to be a holdover from the already scheduled autoreposts or if it'll impact new stuff too.
Also there might be some wacky time zone things related to this move. It occurs to me I have no idea what timezone this server is set up for. Edit: For some reason it was on Moscow time. I changed it back to Eastern. If your giveaways paid out prematurely from that, sorry. I never bothered to code timezone compensation into ModBot.

This totally fixed it.
It is incredibly in depth but is also one of the easier paradox strategy games too so if you want a great jumping on point CK2 is it.
One of my favourite games... Every save is different as it has an element of RNG, it also means that every person you play as can be different too.

Really digging the finished installing pop ups. Now I can know when a game has installed that I'm totally not going to play for ages!
Average? Christ even at the bleeding edge there's stuff that clashes with one another. Sometimes AA and AO don't render correctly when certain implementations are used together. Some times running at higher framerates can make other physics elements unstable or speed up game timing. You can even get UI breaking and not rendering because you have the audacity to have a display that has a native display resolution that isn't supported by the game. Thankfully having access to your system unlike on a closed box you can tweak things to get everything to play nice. Going to be a wild ride when the new consoles get into the real trade offs between resolution and framerate vs dynamic effects.
Edit: Case in bloody point State of Decay only supporting stupid resolutions. Thankfully I've got 2560x1440 up and running now but urgghhhh.

I wish I could do this but every single game I make a good guy (mass effect, fallout, Divinity) just last week I was going to make my Divinity character evil but after I killed the first option that came up I couldn't do anymore and had to make amends with the gods. My conscience is interfering with my gaming!

Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV are so golden.
Learning curve is pretty epic, but they're so rewarding (even if you suck at 'em, like me!).
A case for PC gaming could start and finish with Paradox games.

I watched idle thumbs play Crusader Kings 2 for like 12 hours.
I respect the game, what it does, and how wonderful it can be BUT that shit just aint for me. I figure I would get my feet wet with Civ 5 before i ever go down the historical sim rabbit hole that is CK2.
